Lobster Mashed Potatoes
Maria took care of us very nicely. The only lroblem we had was the deafening music coming from Whiskey Girl next door when we were sitting outside. We were moved inside and the rest of our meal was very enjoyable. Food was delicious.
Homemade pasta is excellent i had fettuccine with pesto zucchini mushrooms. My dining partner had the steak which was a bit grizzly and the only reason for a 4. Overall good experience our waitress was wonderful
Our first time here, and while the ambiance and service was great we encountered something that really put an end to the experience.
While going to the back to use the restrooms you can see into the kitchen; there one person was working without facemask, while one waiter walked in, removed his mask, dipped his hand into a plate of salad (assumingly ready to go to a table) and ate, then moved onto picking some ingredients out from the prep area table and eating those. We were really put off by this. Pandemic and all.
After a year of being locked down do to COVID, it was a great experience to be able to enjoy Panevino with our family. The Food and service were excellent! We very much enjoyed our night out.
The food was fantastic and our waitress was so sweet! Definitely recommend the Pizza San Daniele and the Pappardelle al ragú. We will definitely be back!
Expensive prices for smaller portions of not great food. Got recommended a wine that wasn’t good and felt rushed into choosing it. Service felt genuine and was good, sweet touches. Sat outside and was busy with homeless people always walking by and loud music from neighboring bars.
Wonderful! Waitress Maria took care of us superbly. Food and wine was out of this world good!!! A must try.
Great food and great atmosphere. The Charcuterie Board is a must. Wonderful friendly service.
It was good and our waitress was amazing but the pasta was over cooked and the muscles as well.
We found this restaurant in the Gaslamp District ten years ago on a trip to San Diego, and remembered it being so good that we had to try it again. We were pleased to find they had resumed fairly normal operation last night, and the food was even better than our memories! We had a pre-dinner glass of wine at the bar, and then moved on to our table on the patio. We started with a half-order of Cacio Y Pepe Gnocchi - a twist on the classic Roman dish - that was creamy, with perfect little pillows of gnocchi, and evoked memories of our last pre-COVID trip to Italy. The complimentary bread was hot and crusty on the outside, very tasty. I had the Osso Buco and my husband had lasagna - both were fantastic! The bartender was also our server, and when the wine we ordered wasn't available, she recommended a Napa red blend that was fairly priced and delicious! Hearing her chat with another employee in Italian was a nice plus too. We will be back the next time we are in San Francisco!
Great food with a diverse menu to meet a variety of tastes. Seated inside at corner booth-quiet and perfect location. Outstanding service. Recommend highly.
Very accommodating, great Sea Bass, and a well laid out wine list. Not the most interesting wines, but still fun. I think our servers name is Emillio? He did a fabulous job and made the experience delightful.
Fantastic bread and good drinks. Pasta was a bit bland but calamari was fantastic
friendly service and great food. well spending time
The service was very good. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We were not rushed and enjoyed our outdoor table.
We dined next door 2 nights later and wished we had gone back to Osteria Panevino instead.
The server was rushing with our table and messed up two orders completely—she completely misheard or misunderstood the orders and brought out two completely wrong items. She then was combative saying that we were in the wrong... it was very awkward for the whole table.
She brought back out the menus and we repointed to our original orders and she did get it right the second time. I wish she had gotten her manager to speak to us or had down something special for the table.
Oldest Italian restaurant in the Gaslamp. Traditional, well prepared food and affordable. Quaint trattoria atmosphere. Good for families. Very busy on a Saturday night so service was friendly and hurried. Bread is delicious!
The food was amazing. The staff also provided great service. The tables are a bit close together and can get noisy next to other parties, but the food and service make it worth it. The osso bucco was perfect. I will definitely come back to this place.
The food was delicious. They were not shy with the cheese on the pizza. The service was superb.
Panevino has become fave spot for us in gaslamp. They will customize their typical pizzas, we had burrata tomato and some sausage ... fabulous!
The pappardelle ragu was rich, thick and perfect for the tasty noodles.
Our server was from Sicily and gave us some great travel tips, a nice extra. I notice that even when they are busy, the servers are keeping their eye on their tables. You know the places where the waiters seem to intentionally not look at you ... this is NOT that!
We also has the lasagna and can also recommend this hearty and creamy loveliness.
Great food, great service, right on a main drag for fabulous people watching.
The food was delicious, but the servers took a very long time to come take our orders, then to put our orders and bring the food to the table. The food could have been warmer
Fabulous food, incredible service. We loved every bit of it. A little pricey that usual Italian, however there’s nothing “usual” about this lovely exceptional restaurant!! Memorable meal
Amazing service and excellent food!
I loved it!! The food was great and a good portion size as well!
The risotto was raw the fish and shrimp were old in their special and the gnocchi was raw worst food I have ever tasted and cost us 300$
Great fresh and delicious food!! Excellent service!!
Great Italian food from an old family restaurant. We had to eat outdoors because of Covid. However, we had a nice table with heaters, very comfortable.
My husband's meal (lasagna) was excellent, but mine (vongole) was average. The owner or the manager lady who takes care of the restaurant is simply fantastic, I would go back for the atmosphere, the quality of the service and her!
Birthday dinner was a big success.. Great food, weather was fantastic. We will be back!
The service and food were wonderful. You made a birthday celebration very memorable.
Excellent as always. I was actually looking forward to coming back to Panevino for a long time. The only “down” to this review, and it has nothing to do with the restaurant, staff or food, was the loud music played 2-3 places down...
Really good Italian food! Good value, and nice wine list.
Cute Italian restaurant in the bustling couple blocks of covid-transformed 5th Ave. This is a nice place struggling to keep the upscale ambiance while serving outdoors on the street, like so many other restaurants these days. Food was good overall (we did not care for the pizza however) and service was attentive. Only complaint was sitting next to the street with strange characters wandering past the table (not the restaurant's fault of course.)
Terrible customer service. The waitress looked the other way each time we needed something. After they heard us they took forever to bring whatever we requested, and our food got cold waiting. I order from the menu and asked the waitress if the dish was gluten free. She said yes. When I saw the fish floured and grilled and explained to her that it was not gluten-free. She said that it was not breaded, and good for what I requested.
I ended just ordering a coffee (which was also not worthy)
The rest of my group left almost all the food in their plates.
I will not return or recommend.
Food was so bad I couldn’t even order anything on menu a lot of people came looked at menu and left as well. I ended ordered just a salad and it came out like they just pour water as dressing tasteless! They didn’t have any decorations for valentines zero. They used cheap glasses for wines and cocktails. This restaurant ruined my Valentine’s Day. Would never come back don’t know how they have such good ratings. Do not come here!
It was a different atmosphere eating on the streets of Gaslamp for dinner. Early sunday dinner but the food was great! First time here and we'll likely be back. Thank you!
We had a great meal on Valentines Day. Felt good to be in a restaurant again. The device was impeccable. The entire staff was moving fast and doing a great job of getting everyone served. The food was really good, just a tad overpriced. But I guess that was the location premium. Overall, a great dining experience with exceptional staff.
The staff members were busting their butts when we were there. They were kind & attentive. The atmosphere was great. I had the chicken Parmigiano which was no better, if not worse than Olive Garden. My husband had the lamb ravioli which he loved. The wine was also great.
Not very impressed with the food and the wine is ridiculously priced. Not sure How they can get away selling a $50 bottle of wine for $420, but hey good for them. I know that there are so many other great Italian places that I would probably not go again.
