   The food was incredible - we loved all of our dishes. Our servers were hilarious. The gnocchi was so good, we got 2 kinds. Pillowy soft!

   We were celebrating Mothers’ Day. We were greeted with smile and seated in a cozy area. We really enjoyed the food and the experience. We will dine again here.

   Osteria has been serving Italian American food for a very long time. I returned with my family for a meal to find that the food was not at the standards that I remembered. Our server was friendly and competent, but the food that I saw served to my family members was not appetizing. My dish was acidic and didn't reflect the description on the menu. I'm sorry to say that I will not be returning to this restaurant unless more attention is paid to the food. This is in no way anything resembling Italian food and not a place I would ever bring Italian visitors.

   Waitress wouldn’t make eye contact. Messed up our order. Pasta soggy. Fish overcooked. It’s a lovely spot outside and great for people watching but can’t come back.

   Osteria was marvelous. Sat outside on a sunny, 70F day and enjoyed a superlative penne carbonara with a glass of Sangiovese. Service was friendly and attentive. Cannot praise it enough.

   We haven’t eaten here for 10 years, and before our dinners were always outstanding. Last night, the red sauce on my chicken parm and angel hair pasta was completely tasteless. I salted it and salted and salted, but I still couldn’t eat the pasta. I think someone must’ve turned their back when they were supposed to spice the red sauce. I hope that the manager talks to the kitchen, because it certainly wasn’t worth the $40 I paid. I don’t want to leave a bad review, because we’ve had good meals here before, but something was really off last night. You’re welcome to contact me if you need to do so.

    Great food, and service from Francisco was excellent. Great wine list and pasta selection. A classic Italian restaurant in Palo Alto.
