I was 15 minutes early and was told my table was having dessert. I mentioned I had a concert ticket and hoped I could be seated at my reservation time. The hostess very nicely found another table for me. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and classy. I ordered the special featured entree of pasta with shrimp, scallops, and lobster. There are no sides to add and no small dinner salad. The waiter returned to say they had run out of scallops but I opted to have it anyway. He came back again to say there would be scallops in the dish. The serving had 4 shrimp, 1 piece of lobster, and 1 scallop. I did really enjoy that the dish was in a light tomato sauce rather than the heavier cream sauce usually associated with seafood. I enjoyed the Affogato for dessert, but the dessert menu is very heavy on gelato and sorbet. As I was eating my dessert, a person from management brought some focaccia to my table and then realized she was at the wrong table. She apologized and said something about a bad attitude and she should have comped my ticket. The waiter brought my bill and it contained a 5$ discount. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I believe I would give Osteria Amici another try as most of the glitches could be attributed to being a new restaurant and ensuring that customers were done in time for the concert.

Thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Lovely decor, and the food and drinks were really top notch. Fabulous addition to the local dining scene. Our server Reese was knowledgeable, kind and attentive. We will most definitely return!!

Excellent addition to the downtown Elkhart dining scene! My husband and I really enjoyed the arancini. Very flavorful. We really liked the wine selection. We had two different ones each to try. My husband had the papardelle with short rib ragu. He loved it and I tried it and thought it was delicious. Very meaty. I had the shrimp scampi pasta. It definitely has some heat to the light sauce, which I loved. It was delicious, but I wish the shrimp had been bigger or they would have included a couple more for the price of the dish. Beautiful decor. Loved the ambiance and vibe inside. Service was good, considering it hasn’t been open long. Seems to be running smoothly. We will definitely be back!

The food was nothing special, especially for what you pay. Our food took over an hour to come out. We had to say something. Atmosphere is beautiful, however they have some work to do.

Our experience was OUTSTANDING. Everything from the ambiance to the dessert was amazing. The pasta is out of this world - I will 1000% be back to try the pizza and everything else on the menu! Our servers were so incredible and knowledgeable. This is such a gem in downtown Elkhart. Give this place a try you will not regret it!!

Our waitress was very nice and sweet and young however, she was not properly trained to service us that night. She did not know what a gin and tonic drink was and brought my friend just gin, when she brought the bottle of white wine, she did not bring a wine container to chill it. We had to ask her. She did not clear our appetizer plates so we had to eat our pizza on the same dirty plates. She offered my friend who was celebrating a birthday that evening a gelato however, it ended up on my bill. Normally restaurants offer birthday treats at no charge. Please train your staff before you put them out to service other people.

We had a great first experience at Amici. Ariel was attentive to our needs with great suggestions. She even offered of samples of the sangria and rose prosecco when we asked about them. The samples came in the cutest little goblets! We opted for prosecco but the sangria was good and they serve it in pitchers which could be fun next time. Biggest hit for me was the Octopus (Polpo alla luciana) which was amazing! I will go back just for that. It's served on a Polenta square which was crispy and not too spicy (it says jalapeno polenta). My second favorite thing was the pistacio gelato which was also a suggestion from Ariel. It was amazing and I'm not usually a fan of gelato or ice cream type desserts. I hope they keep that flavor as a regular offering. We also had a chopped salad and Carne pizza. Both were good, the pizza sausage was a little spicy for me but the pizza was mostly my husbands and the salad mostly mine, that's how we roll. He loved it! We'd read reviews before we came and others noted the ambience as being really comfortable. I'd have to say I agree, it's kind of like an Italian kitchen but slightly upscale. It has a real neighborhood friendly vibe and the prices are reasonable for fine dining. We also appreciated Rich, the manger, stopping by the table to check in on us, nice touch. Rich (and the rest of the crew) you've created a nice little place there which I think will grow to be a well loved tradition in Elkhart. We'll be back.

Giving this place a little grace because it has just opened. I really believe it will be a great place once they get it dialed-in. The appetizers we had were great and we'll do them again (meatballs were awesome). We all had a different pasta dish and were in agreement the actual pasta was awesome. The sauces for each were fairly middle of the road lacking 'something'...the space is beautiful, the staff was polite and knowledgeable, and we definitely enjoyed our time there. We will add this to our normal rotation of places to eat and are sure it'll keep getting better.
