It was awful. They forgot about us in the private room. We had to get up and ask someone for drinks. They never came back and asked if we wanted more. No show for hibachi just cooked. Never asked if we wanted anything to drink and we all had empty glasses. And just brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. The floor were so slippery. There was old food stuck to the grill. We were there for a special occasion and even decorated the room. They did not make it feel special at all in fact we totally felt forgotten and unwanted. Such a bummer.
It may have been the shortest and fastest hibachi show in history. Also staff stared and waiting to leave. From reservation time to finish eating 30 minutes. Very poor experience
My reservation was honored and I was seated right away at my hibachi table. The dinner and show was outstanding. I definitely got a great value for my money at Osaka Japanese Steakhouse in Coolidge Corner. I would definitely go back.
They used to provide salad, soup, and shrimp complementary but no longer offer it. The prices are still the same so very dissatisfied.
great food. staff was professional.
atmosphere a bit cold, but the food! oh the food!
Almost always expect to have soup and salad included as part of hibachi dinners. This is the first hibachi I have experienced where those were not offered at prices higher than other hibachi places. Dinner portions were small also. Poor value but easily fixable if the management can understand these short comings…
Good food...with a show! Great for group. Nice drinks also!
Very crowded and noisy. Food was typical tepanyaki fare. Included salad is no longer included or available. Avocado salad very good. Miso soup tasty but cold.
Everything else good. Chef was very entertaining, onion volcano fire, food flipping, egg tossing, etc. My main objection was the exhaust fan. It wasn’t working properly and I was downwind and engulfed in smoke while he was cooking.
Not bad. Perhaps the showmanship was cut due to COVID, but not as entertaining as other places we have been of the same nature. Food was very good.
The quality of the food has diminished while the prices have gone up. No salad or soup with Hibachi orders. The chef's tricks were non-existence. Osaka had better days when you were warmly greeted at the door by the manager and were sent over mochi ice cream on the house.
The food was excellent and the service was very good. We had a large group (with children) at a Hibachi Table. The chef was skilled and entertaining. The only drawback was the acoustics - it was hard to hear our family that was on the other side the cooking surface. Otherwise, a great experience.
Little different from other Hibachi-style restaurants, in that there was no soup or salad before the entree. Portions were a bit bigger, which was fine. Food was good. Would go back.
Sat all black patrons together in the back. Chef didn’t engage with the table.
Great spot for a birthday dinner with a group of friends!
I like the small tables in the dining room. . . the waiters must have esp refilling my water as soon as I take the last sip. Can't wait for the bar and karaoke to open!
The staff was extremely rude. The food was rushed and thrown together with absolutely no flavor. The experience was horrible. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant.
It was cute and funny. The energy was very therapeutic and calm. Would def go again
Great customer service, and food. The place was very clean and organized
Hibachi table for 5.
The hibachi ‘show’ was miserable and short.
Food - mediocre
It was very chaotic and loud, which some people may enjoy. The service was poor because we did not receive all of our food and some of the orders were given wrong. They did not try to fix it, give a discount, or apologize. The hibachi chef did not do any tricks or put on a show like what is usually done at a hibachi restaurant. We did not get what we ended up paying for unfortunately):
Fair. Would go back eventually
I went with my best friend to celebrate his birthday. The service was really bad. I had been at this restaurant 4 times before. I had always had a great experience, but Sunday we were treated very poorly. We had a reservation for 4:15 arrived on time, we were seated and had to wait 15 minutes some water and to place drink orders. My water glass probably had soap residue because I grab it and immediately slip from my hand.
Hibachi chef took for ever to come... food was OK. I wasn't even finished my meal and the server drop the check. 4 tables completely empty to out right and only one party seated to out left... no people waiting also. I didn't understand the rush to kick us from the restaurant.
We got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. We will be back!!
Horrible experience. No Covid precautions the place was packed! Food was not so tasty. We couldn’t eat it except for one dish. The only thing that deserves a star was the waitress.
Eventhough we made a reservation, we had to wait outside for 30 minutes until a table was ready. The table was rapidly "cleaned" and prepared for us. The table was sticky, so were the menus (which in normal times is already a concern, but during Covid is downright troublesome). It was another 20 minutes for someone to come to the table and take our order.
The food came rapidly, and was just ok. Nothing special. The noise level was extreme, the place was packed (mostly students on a Saturday night) which felt really unsafe as it was virtually impossible to be socially distanced from hordes of students, unconcerned with the situation.
About two minutes after we finished our plates, a waitress brought us the check, without asking if we wanted anything else, like a drink or dessert, eventhough our drinks were clearly not finished. Needless to say that we finished our drinks quickly, paid, and went to have dessert next door. Will not come back.
The food was good. The restaurant needs a complete update to the interior.
I have eaten here in the past and really enjoyed it. This time I felt very rushed, I had mentioned with the reservation that we were there for a birthday. They was no acknowledgement of the birthday until I brought it up and that was also rushed. The person of honor didn't feel celebrated and didn't like the feeling of being rushed out the door. I am not sure that I will be returning.
The food was good. The service was ok. I reserved a table to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I included this information on the reservation. This was not acknowledged during our dining. Waitress took our order but did not come back to check on us, to fill our drinks, or make sure we got everything right on our order. We felt ignored mostly during our dining. Also we have seen longer hibachi chef interactions/show then what we received. It was extremely quick and lacked a lot of interaction. Salad was also supposed to come with the order but was told due to covid they don’t offer it however, still listed on their menu the price remained the same. Although food was good, the value and overall experience was not worth returning again.
Osaka is a great restaurant. We ordered sushi . It was delicious and nicely presented. They have hibachi tables which are a lot of fun. The chefs are skilled at preparation and doing tricks with the cooking food. We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and have never been disappointed .
Nice upbeat bar like atmosphere. Fun place with good food and drinks.
We enjoyed our meal and drinks. The steak was tender and the seafood was good. We were able to celebrate my sister’s birthday with some sushi and cake.
First of all I was approched by a very rude hostess and felt belittled for not being sure where I was being seated then once me and my spouse where seated we where left without a menu or a attendee for over 5minutes .. but that got going after that then going to the food the chef was ok not the best hibachi or steak experience and then to see my bull was over 100$ was not worth the drive the experience and the food was trash flavorless and nasty will not be back and will ensure to warn my friends co workers and family of this place
The food was delicious. Just to crowded but it makes me feel like pandemic is going away
Too many people at hibachi and in entrance. Felt uncomfortable with COVID.
Visiting from out of town and came for my birthday.
We ate at the hibachi table and enjoyed the preparers entertainment. The filet mignon and shrimp were delicious, some of the rice was undercooked and the vegetables were very salty. But overall we were happy.
La atención muy buena
La comida rica no sobresaliente
Un buen lugar para pasar el rato
Clearly popular with the younger college crowd, kids pouring in and out of the door the whole time getting louder as the night progressed. Food was ok but rolls were messy, not well prepared. Would not return.
Portions are small, food is okay, and staff seems rushed. Not the full experience I was hoping for, but still a very fun time!!
