The food flavors and combinations were just odd. Nothing was delicious or grubby. It didn’t leave me wanting more. It was all pretty and nice. The staff was great and the interior is lovely. But it’s expensive for what you get and just not that tasty.
Loved our dinner!!! Orsa & Winston is a special place - very inventive and delicious Italian/Asian flavor combinations. Beautiful plating and very interesting natural wine pairings. The Michelin Star is definitely deserved. Loved that the environment was still relaxed and modern (I .e. not stuffy or overly theatrical like some other tasting menu restaurants can be.)
The food was amazing. Service was absolutely stellar. Highly recommend.
I’ve been three times now and they never fail to impress. The wine selection is great at a solid price.
Fantastic dining experience
Great experience. Definitely felt safe with the new pandemic friendly regulations. Service was excellent and the waiter was great. Wine pairing was exceptional!
Orsa and Winston has exceptional food with beautiful plating. I am so happy they have survived the pandemic. I cannot wait to dine indoors again.
Everything is good except the waiting time between each courses. It took longer than I expected.
This was a wonderful meal -and a perfect evening. Each bite was more delicious than the last. Our server, Roman, was attentive and mindful of distance and space.
The food was INCREDIBLE.
Everything was perfection. Did not disappoint! We were 4 people and we were all blown away!
The value for price is the best deal in town!
We will be back.
Well, we did sit in the alley. We wore masks. So did the waitstaff.
In the '80s, the alley was for hard drugs.
Now it's for the best restaurant in Los Angeles. Bit strange, of course, in the covid, to be the only table for the 7.30 seating. But the butter-poached lobster and the scallop porridge and the Santa Barbara spot prawn and the sparkling cab franc cares not. A table that would have been considered Siberia in the old times is now the best table.
All hail Orsa + Winston and thanks for the beautiful evening ...
They accommodated us to the best of their ability considering all the Covid restrictions. Everything was excellent. From the host, to the server and the especially the FOOD !!! Will definitely come back.
We love Orsa & Winston - the best place for brunch in DTLA hands down.
Great experience and totally worth it
Drove from the East Coast to the West Coast, trying famous places all along the way, and this was one of the best on pure deliciousness alone
Great experience and amazing food!!! Consistently impressive!! Thank you for a wonderful meal
Outside patio is not good here. Food is very good. We want to come back once indoor dining is available.
Excellent patio setup and great brunch. Really enjoyed all aspects of this meal.
I know it’s Covid and maybe that had to do with it but the ambiance was not worth the $200 per person (including the wine pairing). You could not understand the servers describing the food or wine.
There was no effort to make the outside very inviting. Maybe inside it’s better but I doubt it. And food was good but not memorable.
Excellent food and wine with the same attention to details as always!
A favorite of ours for special occasions. We could not get a dinner reservation. Brunch was outstanding.
The japanese breakfast was delicious and so was the peach salad
We had the 5-course tasting menu and wine pairing. The food was delicious and the wines were really good, and I liked their makeshift garden for dining in. Unfortunately, the price was too high for both the 5-course menu and the wine pairing. But price notwithstanding, we did truly enjoy the meal and the experience.
Came here to celebrate a birthday last week, my first fine dining experience during the apocalypse. The setting was beautiful and our food excellent, however, the entire dining experience took nearly 3 hours for 5 tiny perfect courses. We left absolutely starving and went directly to a second dinner. For almost $500 I was disappointed to leave feeling hungry.
World class experience
I went for my birthday dinner during pandemic. I’m happy they had outdoor dining, even if the alleyway it was set up in wasn’t ideal. For some reason, they got the shoddier end of the alleyway. But honestly, the food was so mind blowing that it soon removed all the distractions of the occasional stench of cigarettes wafting from the big apt complex next door. It was great that all the tables were so spaced out too. It did feel safe. The food was really top notch, my boyfriend said it was the best meal he’s had in the last year. Go try it for yourself.
AMAZING!!!!
For a Michelin star restaurant, I was expecting foods more unique.
Beautiful and delicious food. . . safety guidelines in place, with plenty of social distancing and PPE at hand.
The menu had a lot of choice, great cocktail selection, lovely and prompt service. We tried several things on the menu and when we specifically mentioned that we would be sharing it either they split it for us or brought share plates when they served the dish. The food was very fresh, hot food was hot, cold food was cold. It was very hot outside but we barely noticed because we were so engrossed in our very creative and delicious brunch. Pancakes and bacon for dessert! We will be back to try the rest of the menu. We saw another table get the omokase and it looked really beautiful and interesting.
An extraordinary restaurant in "normal" times -- and incredible work by the Orsa and Winston crew to pull off an outstanding evening in an alley near the restaurant. Wonderful dishes included hamachi crudo with watermelon, yuzu, and chili; a seafood porridge with uni and caviar, and PEI mussels with beef sugo, heirloom tomatoes ....
Thank you Orsa and Winston
Amazing food, outstanding service. Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here, we would love to be back.
Amazing experience from beginning to end. The food was perfect, the pairings phenomenal, and the service was the perfect compliment. They did a good job of making us feel safe and cozy outside in the alley behind the building.
We’ve eaten at Orsa for special occasions since it’s opening. This was our first time going out to dinner since the shut down, which was a very special occasion since life has been so weird. The food, service, and environment were exceptional! We really appreciated the execution of the meal In the new outdoor setting, and we left with our belly’s full of delicious food and wine, and our sprits uplifted for the experience. Thank you Chef Cento and your very skilled and welcoming staff.
We’ve been coming to this restaurant for many years. It is one of our absolute favorites in Southern California. The chef is an artist who brings together flavors, textures, colors, and simply put, creative ingenuity on a plate. Today we went and celebrated a birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The decor and set up they have outdoors during the COVID-19 pandemic was by far the best outdoor seating we’ve experienced so far. We would definitely recommend the wine pairings for your dinner. The way that they bring together wines from Europe with their fusion of Japanese and Italian is phenomenal.
A memorable birthday dinner with attentive service and an excellent sommelier. We had the tasting menu with the beverage pairings. We found each course carefully prepared and exquisitely balanced.
It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at any restaurant.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very keen in bringing out the courses and table service.
Food was absolutely amazing. Each course was planned out so well!
I would definitely come again and bring close family and friends!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR DATES AND SEMI FABCY GET TOGETHERS!
The food was fantastic. Josef sent more dishes that were on the menu. A taste
treat with every bite.
We love Josef Centano.
I told the restaurant the dinner was for my wife’s birthday when making reservations. On the day of the dinner, I received a call to confirm the dinner at which I reminded it was for a birthday dinner again and the person said not to worry and it was already marked in their system as a birthday and that the restaurant would do something. Another table around us had a birthday dinner as well it seems because a desert was brought over. Once the dinner was over, nothing. So I reminded the server it was for a birthday and the server just stated she wasn’t aware of it and proceeded to give us our check and walked away.
Fantastic selection of food and wine pairings. Truly unique, and first rate service. A terrific place for anyone who loves interesting and diverse food choices. Wonderful!
Definitely a must visit.
