    Extremely disappointed with one of the highest rated restaurants in Virginia Beach. The hostess after checking in forgot about us, our reservation, even forgetting that she already talked to us and told us it would be a minute or two. Then after ordering drinks and an appetizer, we received the appetizer but didn’t get our drinks for over 10 mins. Then after being told their was one filet left, to then no filet available, the waiter tried to convince us that the ribeye was better. The ribeye was extremely fatty. Was also tried the chicken pad tie, which sub par, and tasted like it was seasoned with seaweed. Was extremely disappointed with the service and the food. Will not being going back.

    The food was delicious and the staff was knowledgeable. The one negative is the amount of time it took to receive our drinks as when we ordered them again when the food arrived at the table we didn’t actually receive them until we were finished with the meal which was between 15 - 20 mins.

    We went for dinner on our wedding anniversary and they sat us a great table and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne. It was a nice touch! Food was delicious as always, and we love the view and atmosphere.

    We were seated at the Baquet and had to move because the seat was so low my chin was almost touching the table. I had made the reservation and said it was for a birthday. No mention was made of the occasion. The food was very tasty. Service was good. Quite expensive. Wouldn't go for just a meal. Would have to be a special occasion.

    As always the food and service were impeccable. However the ambience was lacking in the sense that the dress code was completely out the window. Orion’s Roof used to be a place where you would wear nice clothes and go out for fine dining however tonight it was zip up hoodies and jorts and sweats… left a lot to be desired

    Service was awesome. The views and ambiance are breathtaking. Definitely somewhere I’d like to bring family and friends visiting from out of town for drinks. Food was not great. We had crab cake sandwiches and the fried chicken sandwich. The sushi was really good and fresh though.

    We always enjoy our meals at Orion‘s Roof, and the food is good. The views are unparalleled. But, for a place that is that high end, and a Marriott resort hotel, it should be cleaner. We sat out on the deck and our table was dirty, and the floor underneath our table was covered with food. That level of restaurant should be sweeping under tables after guests.

    The view from the outdoor seating area was fantastic. We were greeted by a very cool server, but it was a long time between visits to our table, despite the rather empty area we sat in. Food was tasty, although the crab cake sandwich was all bun, hardly enough crab. The sushi was nothing to write home about, but it did seem fresh at least. The fish tacos my husband had were also just average. Presentation of the food was nice. I was a bit thrown off and disappointed that we seemed to be the only ones in the place who took seriously the "business casual dress code" published on the website. We were surrounded by people who were very casually, and in my opinion, sloppily underdressed, although it was lunch time on a Saturday. The gorgeous views and atmosphere helped to overcome any dissatisfaction with average food. I do wish the rooftop would have incorporated more tropical and beachy LIVE plants, as found downstairs in the hotel lobby. Live plants would greatly add to the cool vibe.

    We had a reservation for 7 PM. It took over 45 minutes for our meal to be served and there was no bread or something similar to tie us over. The waiter said they got slammed. We were not the only ones who were unhappy. We ordered the same things we ordered last time we ate here. I loved the shrimp lo mein last time. This evening the dish contained, and I was not aware, unbearably hot peppers. There was no mentioned of these in the menu. Lo Mein is normally not spicy My mouth and lips were burning badly. My wife tracked down our waiter and asked for milk which took a while to come. In the meantime, I am in pain. We were both surprised that there was little to no concern about my pain. I would have thought a manager would have checked on us.

    Fantastic experience! The atmosphere, decor and food were delicious! The staff were very friendly, helpful and patient. The restaurant is connected to the hotel so there was ample parking and we were allowed 2 hrs which was great!

    Certainly this is a dining venue you don't want to miss. Incredible views and wonderfull ambience. Food choices are eclectic and likely will appeal to Asian quisine and sushi lovers. Service was a bit erratic and meals were slow coming out of the kitchen. Our friendly waitress also had a large area to cover the afternoon we visited. Pot stickers and crab ragoon chopsticks were terrific. We stayed with pretty traditional main courses for our lunch: Fish tacos, salmon tartae tacos and Bulgogi steak sandwich. Interestingly, in my opinion, the steak sandwich was the best. Go for the expeience, expect slower service and enjoy the great views whle you wait.

    We so enjoyed our lunch at Orion’s Roof today! Our server, Sage Kahle, greeted us with complementary Prosecco to celebrate a special birthday. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made amazing suggestions that we thoroughly enjoyed. His attention to detail helped to make our dining experience memorable. We’ll definitely be back and we will certainly ask for Sage to be our server.

    Beautiful oceanfront venue. Service seemed to take forever! I think there was only 1 bartender on duty and drinks were taking 30 min to fill. My crab cakes were seared black on the outside and cold on the interior. The mediocre sauce was cold and when I ask for it to be warmed, was told they could not do that. A small request for such a big expensive restaurant.

    Service was incredibly, unacceptably slow. We were a large table - but it still took over 40 minutes to place a food order. Food was slow, drinks were slow. The waitress would not let us keep our bottles of wine on the table so we had to track her down each time someone needed a refill causing further delays. Also, b/c we were a large table we could not place the reso through open table. Calling the restaurant was IMPOSSIBLE. Emails were ignored for days even though 6 people were cc’d. Just a mess all around

    We celebrated our 19th anniversary with a wonderful dinner at Orion's Roof. The food was absolutely delicious, from starters to the main course. Our waitress was excellent and knowledgeable. The only thing that was a little awkward was the seating in the middle of the restaurant where there is a long bench style couch chair on one side of the tables and a regular chair on the other side. The issue is that the bench style couch chair is probable 3-5 inches lower than the chair on the other side of the table. Maybe lowering the table and chair so that its at the same level as the bench style couch chair???

    Great choice for meals in Virginia Beach. Our server Sage was very hospitable and made the meal memorable. I would advice others to avoid the “yakitori” and the Korean rice bowl though.

    Had a Wonderful date night at Orion's Roof! Sage, our waiter, was attentive and descriptive with just the right amount of presence at the table while still allowing my partner and I to enjoy our evening. Got the wagyu and bone marrow special at first, which I don't recommend, not flavorful. Replaced with a shrimp udon noodle bowl which was so tasty! My partner got the char sui lamb which was very good. Though the micro greens were bitter and not palatable. Highly recommend the drinks: House of the Rising Sun and the Blackberry Splash (be careful knocking those back!) and Pork Pot stickers! Would definitely come again for a special occasion!

    We had outstanding service from Sage! He was attentive, gave fantastic suggestions as he guided us through the menus and his calm manner was impressive for how busy he was juggling 5+ tables! The food was excellent from the Steamed Mussels to the Fresh Catch Snapper and Crab Cakes to ending with their Mile High Chocolate Cake and Fiji Apple Crisp. We were disappointed not to get a window seat as requested in the reservation which I made several weeks in advance and the dining room was too warm.
