Nice place to enjoy an afternoon
Our group of 4 had initially selected Oreya to dine outside, but we were forced inside due to weather (obviously not their fault). Wish I realized how loud it would be inside despite the few diners (my voice is still sore) as I would have selected another restaurant where we could hear each other
The positive aspect is our food came out extremely fast (although so did multiple other orders that weren't ours, which was quite disruptive), but sadly our drinks did not.
The negative, aside the noise, was the service. Not slow, but very apathetic. Our drinks came out after we finished our appetizers, an entire drink was spilled in my lap without so much as an apology or slight attempt to help clean it up, and 3 different tabs were mistakenly charged to our credit card. Also restrooms were very messy
I'd only suggest if you like to eat in a club atmosphere if dining inside
Oreya is a great spot for dinner in the Hamptons. Chef Grossman is not only a fabulous chef, but he cares about his customers. His creative menu had something for everyone. Really great place for groups and for sharing. Everything from the tuna tartar cigars, to the hummus duo, to the branzino, to the vegetarian lasagna special - ALL DELICIOUS! No idea why it was so quiet on a Friday night. We will definitely be back. Hats off to the chef...

The service was horrible, the food was average, and the ambience was non existent.
The food is very tasty and it is a nice location, but the portions were small for the price. More important to discuss was the service. There were simply way too many mistakes (two forgotten dishes and hair in the food) and a lack of ownership of the mistakes (the printer and length of working at Oreya were blamed) that turned this into a very off-putting experience.
Has a lot of potential but won't last long if they keep this up.
I ate at Oreya once last summer and thought it was pretty good overall. I cannot say the same about my most recent dining experience. While the food is tasty enough, the service is beyond poor. Our server screwed up our entire order and then everything was served piecemeal. To his credit, the manager apologized and credited back a large portion of the bill, but the entire experience was so frustrating that I will not be returning. Oreya needs to get its staff properly trained, pronto. Midsummer is not the time to be excusing poor service by explaining that you've got an entirely new crew in the kitchen. (Incidentally, we weren't too impressed by the waitstaff or hostesses either. Actually, our best experiences were with the fellow at the door and the parking attendant!) We were eating on the early side, too, and the restaurant was relatively empty. I shudder to think what a later dining time would have been like. Lastly, while I understand that Oreya becomes more of a nightclub/scene later in the evening (it's connected to a motel, the Capri), I feel 8:15 at night is a bit early to begin blasting the disco music. I could scarcely hear myself think as I was leaving.
We came in the summer of 2016 and had a wonderful experience that we decided to come again this summer (2017). This place has completely gone down hill. No attention to detail and service is horrible. We spoke to multiple managers and no one truly seemed to care. Multiple tables were screaming at managers due to the lack of attention and service. I will not be going back and do not think it will last.
Service was terrible. Ordered and then Waited over an hour and a hold for our dinner. Was told they had a problem in the kitchen. They did nothing for the trouble. Large groups of rowdy 20 something's doing shots and carrying on like a frat house. Fine dining prices with hooters clientele. Also people smoking cigars outside, but you would think they were smoking next to you. Stay away!
Shockingly bad. Two of our party never received their entrees. We had a 7:30 reservation and waited for over an hour for any food at all.
I absolutely loved it! we went with another couple, had drinks at the beautiful bar. Bartenders we fantastic! Vicky didn't mind letting me taste a few wines to make sure I was happy. We lived everything we order and I haven't seen service that great in the Hampton's in awhile. Music, and outdoor bar couldn't b better. We will be back!!!!
Nice outdoor dining with interesting food and drinks, well-prepared. Service was very attentive. Even outdoors, the restaurant is quite noisy, so not the place for a quiet dinner.
Just go for drinks! Don't even try to eat there. We had one appetizer that came right among 4 ordered and none of the entree came right after 2:30hs. We went out and ordered a pizza...
High prices, mediocre food and no signage on the outside even to find the place. If you want to throw away $75 per person, this is where to go.
Food at Oreya is wonderful. Chef is hugely talented. Our service was a little off but the waiter was extremely apologetic. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their meals. Definite must try.

A mixed review - ambiance was OK, and we were glad they had a patio so we could escape the live music and loudness. Foodwise, the best thing we had was the Branzino - perfectly prepared. We had heard great things about Oreya and its young chef, and it's obviously popular - packed on an August evening, and VERY, very noisy. If loud is your thing, you'll love this place. It's also VERY expensive, and the food was inconsistent. As mentioned, the fish was fabulous. We had the feta and "heirloom tomato" plate from the "To Share" list. A pouf of feta, and - literally - half a dozen of the tiniest cherry tomatoes I've ever seen. Not even great flavor, when in August fabulous real heirloom tomatoes are all over the East End. And to share - maybe a bite each? Hmmmm . . . . The spicy fried chicken was also quite good, but generally we felt the food was not worth the high prices. The wine list was a real disappointment - with so many high-priced wines (some of which we knew and felt were NOT in the $100-plus category), there should have been some very good wines offered by the glass. No so. All three of us, with different tastes but knowledgeable about wine, felt the wines-by-the-glass were not good. The service was lovely, and the waiter was nice enough to let us try them before ordering a bottle from the regular list. We might try again, off-season!
We were pleased with the food, but the portions were minuscule. No bread was served at the table a filet came with one piece of mushroom no potatoes or vegetables. The branzino was excellent. All the food was tasty but not worth the price with such small portions and everything side having to be ordered separately. Our server was hard to find during the whole evening and treated us in a condescending manner: ultimately calling me sweetheart (really?).
Lovely spot, caring service BUT they were out of everything special that was in the New York Times rave review! No hamachi, no tuna tartare cigars, no salmon crudo - really surprising.

While the food was good, it was not the quality we were expecting after reading about the chef in the New York Times. Our waiter was excellent, though he spoke to fast for us to understand the specials, the host didn't even bother to move the table for us to make it easier for me to sit down (my husband did that), and the background music was a constant thumping, which as the place filled, only made the noise level impossible for any real conversation. All together a disappointing experience.
PS, they need to put a sign out front, we drove past three times before we found it.
After many recommendations we dined at this year's restaurant at the Capri Hotel, which seems to have annual turnover of places. Atmosphere, seating etc. were quite good. Food was very good. Service was not up to the food, or the prices. We as well as those dining around us found the service t be bewildering. Waiters disappeared for long periods of time. Runners had no clue which table let alone which person was to receive a dish. Wine service (and the cheapest bottle is $68) was a joke. And it can not be blamed on one bad waiter or runner. There were plenty of "mangers" on the floor observing and doing nothing to improve the service. Sorry. Wanted to like this place but the service made it an OK spot, and one that may or may not be there next season.
Overrated and overhyped.

The food was mediocre and service slow. It certainly did not deserve the rave in the Times!
They ran out of a number of options at 7 pm on a Wednesday. Main course took 1/12 hrs to arrive.
Terribly understaffed. The poor waiter was way overextended and the kitchen clearly not prepared for the number of diners. The restaurant was certainly not full.
The food that was available was delicious and well prepared but sadly, due to the poor overall management could not be enjoyed as it should have been.
Restaurant is lovely. Food was very good. Service was laughable... Actual we were laughing. Waiter was absolutely clueless. Brought the wrong wine. Asked for and was given app order and returned 10 minutes later to ask again. Told us they were out of shrimp cocktail and then server brought a shrimp cocktail to our table. The manager was standing off to the side chatting but never came around to check on our dinners. Very expensive for the level of service provided.
It was a wonderful experience....staff friendly and well-trained, food excellent... The best out here in Southampton! We couldn't stop raving about the evening.
The food was absolutely outstanding, better than everything in the Hamptons, right up there with Sant Ambroeus (in the offseason) and Topping Rose (when Colicchio was exec. chef). Great menu, fantastic side dishes and inventive choices (scallop ceviche, taramasalata) mixed with great classics (Branzino, Bone in Rib Eye). The service was spotty mainly due to it being a new restaurant launch, food took a bit long. Crowd was a bit frumpy (Our reso was kinda early though) for Hamptons but once word gets out that will change. Wine list was too expensive, especially the Rose selection. Cheapest Rose was $68 which is too high. Stick a few local or regional mediterranean wines in there for $40-50 bucks and this place is a home run. Gotta love a resto that serves Badoit water, the best in the world - I always liked the Capri hotel layout, so this is gonna be great once the execution improves. But that food was just exceptional, Branzino was the best in a long time!
