Welcome to Oppi'z Bistro and Natural Pizza. We are a modern, nonconventional Italian bistro and pizzeria concept, still rooted into the tradition of the Italian cuisine and to the "Slow-food" manifesto.
Our gourmet pizzas are prepared with a secret recipe of naturally slow-fermented dough, combining high quality imported ingredients and farm-fresh local ones.
Our signature plates include rice in a bottle, pastas, savory cheesecakes, fresh tartares and many other healthy vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.
Mozzarella, stracciatella cheese, feta, cherry tomatoes, roasted almonds, fresh basil
Pizza Black Margherita (Black Dough)
Homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella, stracciatella cheese, fresh basil
Homemade black ciabatta bread, tomatoes, onion, garlic, EVO
The wine is overpriced. Otherwise, the restaurant is very nice.
Terrific, innovative Italian food. Warm salads in jars, black rice dishes in cutaway bottles, delicious and unusual pizzas, pastas with a twist (eg spaghetti bolognese but made with salmon!). A win! Interesting wine llst, including delicious and affordable Primitivo.
We were out of town for a wedding, from San Diego. Made reservations thinking it’d be nice. Live music was nice. This place was understaffed. Food was mediocre. Service was meh. Would never call me back. Wouldn’t recommend.
Reserved a table for my girlfriends birthday and requested cake. The restaurant either did not read my request or forgot to serve cake. Other than that the the food was great and the waiter was helpful.
Excellent food and service...charming on street dining
Stopped in before a show at the Lobero. With enjoyed our entrees, as well as salads and a bottle of wine. Street seating was comfortable, and we were entertained by a nearby street band. Good service rounded out a pleasant meal.
We were seated and given water and bread and no one ever waited on us. We waited 40 minutes as we know how difficult it is for restaurants to find wait staff. We left after one of the waitresses just stared at us and kept walking past us waiting on other tables. We were looking forward to the food but didn’t get the opportunity. I will still recommend to a friend because we heard the food was good.
Found it to be over priced with marginal quality food.
Outdoor dining on State St. Plenty of spacing between tables. Park on Figueroa. Food quality is quite high. Salads are extremely fresh and lightly dressed. Really cannot tell what they do to make the pizza crest so light, but it is delicious. We had pizza w/pesto, Greek olives and sundried tomatoes.
Later dinner after we arrive in Santa Barbara for vacation. Great outdoor seating with heaters for the evening and umbrellas for the day. My husband and I shared the meatball appetizer and the bolognese. Everything was homemade and fresh and absolutely delicious!!
Very good and quiet! The boss offered cups of "italian champagne". original pizza choice.
We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and the people watching on State Street. The servers were friendly and promptly took our food and drink orders. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the spinach salad and fettuccine bolognese…delicious and freshly prepared!
Food was excellent and service was excellent!
Get the avo salad in a jar and the black rice with shrimp in a bottle!!!!!! Soooo unique and yummy
Fabulous menu selection of salads, pizzas and sandwiches. Great location to enjoy the SB State Street ambiance
Very dog friendly🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Amazing evening meal in the beautiful Santa Barbara. Possibly one of the best pizzas ever!
The food is fresh and delicious.
The black margarita pizza at Oppi'z is one of my all time best pizza experiences, and I've had pizza in Sicily, Rome, Tuscany, Napa, Chicago, New York, etc. The owner, who is from near Milan, has an attention to detail and respect for fine ingredients that characterizes the best of Italian cuisine, but he is not afraid to experiment.
The bottled black rice "salads" are original and flavorful variations on the "insalata tepida" I've had at some wine bars in northern italy.
The black margarita pizza was a revelation for me. It's not exactly like a white crust pizza in terms of flavor and texture--to me it was much more flavorful.
Outdoor street seating is nice and Service was fantastic--they even treated our dog like a VIP, and I had a nice convo with the owner at the end of the meal.
The wine list is all Italian, and I enjoyed the Chianti and especially the Montepulciano. The only negative is that their wine pours are very meager, so you are better off buying a bottle if you plan to have more than a couple of glasses of wine.
Will come back here every time I come to Santa Barbara.
We enjoyed our meal. I had the lasagna, and I thought it was delicious, something that my mom would make. The pizza was also very good. They were shorted staff but it did not reflect on their service
The server was terrible, the food was eh. I
Service and food were excellent. Our group included vegan diners, an infant, and a pup and they accommodated everyone flawlessly.
We had our 10 year anniversary and decided on Oppi'z due to some recommendations. The staff was well trained and super nice. The menu had many different choices. We started with a jar salad with salmon which we loved and then I ordered a pizza and my husband got a pasta dish. The whole meal was super good. The owner even came over to wish us a happy anniversary. We will defiantly be going back soon!
Our waitress was absolutely lovely!!!
The Nebbiolo was a great start to the meal, which was ricotta-filled ravioli with sage and brown butter, perfectly al dente. I had room for dessert, so I tried the tiramisu along with an espresso. Dessert was served in a mason jar, which was a nice touch. Everything was expertly prepared and delicious, and the service was great. Highly recommend.
Loved seeing and hearing David Segall singing and playing guitar.
Great pizza! Best ever!
The black pizza was amazing ,the service very good
Good place for quick lunch
Good upscale-casual Italian; nice place to bring visitors to experience State Street. The pizza was delicious; our pasta dishes (the tagliatelle and the spaghetti puttanesca) were fine but not particularly exciting. Note that they do not have a full bar, only wine, beer, champagne and hard cider.
Ok food - nothing great. Mediocre ambiance. Not worth the price
This says David, but I am Alexandra. Our waitress was superb, and we always love the food. We are so glad Oppi'z managed to stay in business.
I really enjoyed their Black Margherita pizza. The outdoor seating was just far enough away from the hoopla for a family to enjoy a nice dinner, while close enough that it was still lively.
Best food in Santa Barbara, in an amazing location.
Loved the outdoor eating space. Loved the black pizza crust and truly appreciate the vegan options and the menu clearly delineating vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free.
The service here is wonderful and the food is great. Get the blackened crust pizza and the black rice with tofu and vegetables. The presentation is so fun!
Oppi’z was great! We had exceptional service, the COVID protocol made us feel safe dining there, even inside. We had the black crust margarita pizza and it was excellent! I would and will eat there again.
The food was delicious and the service was very good!
Lovely meal and great service.
Very nice. Service a little slow but very nice people!
Very very good! Outstanding service. Will be back again for sure! Thank you!
Great food, great server.
Never coming here again. We sat down at 12:30 and over half the table was not served until 2:30. The food was below average and the management didn’t even come to our table to apologize or provide compensation for this horrible experience
