Opera Tavern is a beautiful two-storey bar and restaurant in the heart of central London’s theatre land. Located on Catherine Street we are opposite the Drury Lane Theatre, seconds from the Opera House, a stone’s throw from The Strand and a lovely walk across Waterloo Bridge from the South Bank.

A beautiful former pub, the exposed brickwork, bold artwork and flattering low lighting help our two-story restaurant create the perfect atmosphere for a pre-theatre meal or drink. The ground floor houses a long bar with the open grill at one end, and a few tables placed beside the theatre box windows, where guests can watch the world go by.

We specialise in Italian and Spanish influenced tapas and have a charcoal grill on the ground floor where we cook up all manner of stunning small plates.

Saw bat out of hell and had our meal here after . Friendly staff with a good atmosphere . Noise levels were good just a little buzz that you could still talk and hear each another . Food was lovely and was a good price . 💯 will come back

This is a very good option for Spanish / Italian(?) tapas. We enjoyed very much the food, the wine and the staff attentions.

We had an exceptionally great evening here to celebrate our respective birthdays!! The food and service were fantastic, the place was buzzing, the wine list good and it is a restaurant we have been to before, and will certainly visit again!

Good suggestion for food and service is good. We ordered mainly seafood and vegetables. They are delicious and we also had desserts.

Delicious food, particularly the tortellini with peas and stracciatella, and excellent cocktails. Staff were efficient and friendly. We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints.

The food was sublime. High quality ingredients expertly cooked & presented. Caters extremely well for gluten free clients. All the staff are friendly, efficient & attentive. Ordered a lovely sherry & glass of red between two of us both of which were quite pricey so only stuck to the one drink.
