    Wonderful experience, the steaks were out of this world as was the lobster bisque! The cheesecake appeared to be crumbling, and not all Montanans like country music.

    If I could give zero stars I would. This restaurant was highly recommended, but when we arrived for a 7:30 reservation we were told they were already out of several dishes. It took 45 minutes to receive our drink order (we received 3 out of the 5). The our waiter proceeded to tell us the kitchen was backed up and he didn’t know when our food would be out.

    I ordered a beef fillet for over $60. Portion was small in a huge sized plate, it looked pathetic. Over$60 and nothing more than whitespace. My wife ordered the sirloin "meal", she got garlic French fries, looked like McDonald's fries. Good coment...quality and cooking of the beef was good. I ordered a sazarak cocktail and it was nothing more than sweetened alcohol. The bitters were wrong and not proportioned properly. I'd suggest a trip to New Orleans for a lesson. Finally desert...you were missing all but one item on the list. Really disgusting for a restaurant that provides such little portions and one needs desert to not go home hungry. Sorry I'm really not a negative person and I do tend to look for good things but you guys really blew it for $160 for me. I've lived in Bozeman since 1985 and believe me I've seen better.

    Was okay. My partner got his food after my self and my family already were done eating. So we stared at him while he ate.. some of the steaks came out cold. For a spendy place, you think the meal would have been cooked better. Then waiting for desert, we got the cookie (had to wait an extra 5 mins as they made it from scratch) while we munched on the creme brulee and then there was a hair in it.. have been here a few times and this was by far the worst experience we have had. Very disappointing.

    Bison steak was presented cleanly, cooked to perfection. Exactly what you would expect. Halibut was the same. Always a great meal.

    Had a wonderful meal. Great service. Never felt rushed. Everything came to our table as ordered. Usually do not get dessert but we did this time. Outstanding. Will definitely be back.

    It was my wife and I’s anniversary so we decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal. We heard about Open Range from a few friends of ours and decided to check it out. The food was phenomenal and the service was great. We each had the bison filet which was delightful. We will definitely be back for other special occasions!

    I trusted my waitress and got the lobster tail. Seafood in Montana can be iffy, but this was as fresh as can be. Surf and Turf is real in this place. Real Montana steaks. I would recommend their seasonal cocktails. Great!

    Had dinner there with a friend on Sunday night. Our server was very personable and was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Atmosphere was great and the food was outstanding. Best steak we have ever had in Montana. The manager, Nik, stopped by and was very professional, pleasant, and hospitable. If you are wanting a top notch steak dinner in Bozeman, choose Open Range.

    Drove in from Miles City. Wasn’t expecting a good steak in Bozeman. Absolutely blown away with the quality of the steak. Cooked exactly how I like it. Had a great conversation with our server. Quality Montana experience.

    As A professional Chef for over 20 years, I try to force myself to write a review from time to time. Although English is not my first language, I understand the importance of reviews for restaurants these days. I was so impressed with the authenticity of this true Montana Steakhouse experience. My favorite way to cook meats is the searing method they use, providing a consistent and beautiful crust along with the deglazing to produce the reductions that are done so well. The proteins were prime quality, as good as it gets. The sides were all excellent, I believe we ordered all of them. Very kind and pleasant waitress. It's hard to imagine some of the negative reviews people have left after such a wonderful authentic experience. I would strongly recommend this place, as we also ate at the other Steakhouse in the town I believe they called themselves Heist and it was so out of place for this community, trying much too hard to be fancy. They very much struggle with the execution as the method they use for the proteins is very inconsistent. Thank you for the true American Western experience Open Range!!! Looking forward to my return one day!

    The food was way overpriced and not enough of it. 3 shrimps cost $24 dollars. Drinks are way overpriced too. 16 dollars for "Bartenders paradise " cocktail was very small maybe a shot and it was very bitter enough though there was no bitters in it. After a dinner for two cost us $210 and we were still hungry so we stopped by taco bell and the liquor store. Will not be going back.

    Worst service ever! 20 minutes to get water. An hour for a salad and not a good one. Overcooked steak and no ketchup. $360 for worst meal ever. Don’t waste your time or your money! Not worth it!

    Open Range has had many menu changes and new ownership over the past years. We were very excited when they started serving brunch. When we tried that out, it seemed as if they were trying too hard to be unique and it ended up feeling quite overpriced for some weird food creations. We gave it another shot last night. Dinner was very ordinary feel and way overpriced. It seems to us that Open Range raised their prices to match the new steakhouse on the block, but it’s not the same flavor and quality. I also noticed their online menu doesn’t match the actual menu, with the item I was hoping for not actually on the menu. We don’t mind spending $275+ for three, but it was definitely not worth it. We regret that we gave it another shot.

    I dined at Open Range last week and loved it! I had server Kate who was so sweet, attentive, and happily able to accommodate my gluten allergy. All dishes served were delicious, including drinks! The host gave us a list of the bar’s wide variety of seasonal cocktails, which we so enjoyed! Restaurant has a fun, fine dining ambiance. Can’t wait to come back!

    Amazing dining experience! I had the wedge salad, New York Strip, and cheesecake. All were amazing and the atmosphere made for a relaxed, fine dining experience! Amazing bar selection as well

    Beautiful historic building right in the hustle of downtown. Started with the bacon and buffalo cauliflower, then tried the filet and dry aged ribeye, even though we were stuffed at that point we couldn't resist the skillet cookie for dessert. Great service, great drinks, great food! Will be back 😁

    Halibut was slightly overdone. There was very little else to the dish, a few split pea pods and a tiny potato cake. We ordered french fries as an appetizer and the sauce was really runny and the fries undercooked. Overpriced. We left hungry and we ate everything we were served. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

    The food was pretty terrible. The steaks were overpriced. $65 for a very mediocre New York. Also added lobster tails- were watery and served without melted butter. Potatoes were like buffet style with too much butter and corn bread overcooked. My son and I also were a bit sick to our stomachs the next day. Won’t be back. dinner was 250 for both of us. A huge waste of money.

    Food was good. Great location. Shrimp appetizer, 4 medium shrimp 24$. That’s value in your face - bad judgment on pricing. Sets bad tone. Suggest having baked potatoes and simple green vegetables like broccoli, etc. oh, lower lighting a bit too. We will come back.

    This was my second time at Open Range. The first time I didn't like my burger, and I figured that I was the stupid one for ordering a burger at a steak restaurant. The second visit happened to be for my anniversary. We ordered truffle fries which were oily. We also tried the bacon starter which was good but extremely hardy to eat due to how fatty it was. Lastly I ordered a medium cooked New York strip, It was definitely good quality meat that was well seasoned. My problem was the steak was less cooked than medium rare, it was extremely chewy and difficult to swallow. Overall, I was disappointed that my $200 meal was not up to par and would have preferred to have gone somewhere far less expensive for better food.

    We had high hopes. Most of the negative reviews seemed entitled. However, place was empty…first red flag. Then menu items weren’t available…second red flag. Server was very nice but wanted to bring the check before we were done eating and we were not asked about dessert. There is a reason this place was empty. Believe the reviews.

    Open Range appears to have turned into a sports bar vs a fine dining establishment as it once was; football games & music blaring, not a relaxing upscale dining experience.

    Fine dining prices with average service-for example- my wife wanted a cocktail straw in her drink told the waitress- straw never came. Had to hunt down another waitress to get me a wine list . Ordered a salad to be split- came as one. Is was my husband birthday and ask for a dessert for him- she said the restaurant does not consider anyone’s special occasion- which I think is bad business practice

    I decided to give Open Range another try after staying away for many months, following a series of mediocre experiences... So disappointing - the value simply doesn't warrant the cost. It's completely ridiculous that they serve steaks ala carte, with additional charges for any side or sauce. The chimichurri I ordered for an additional $12 was served in a small 1-ounce ramekin and was so spicy it kept making me choke - unlike any version of chimichurri I'd ever had before. I could not enjoy the bites of filet mignon on which I'd spread it; I had to scrape it off and douse the filet in the bearnaise sauce my husband ordered with his steak. Unfortunately, the bearnaise was essentially just lumpy butter and offered little (if any) improvement. I won't ever return again.

    What great food, great service, and a lovely time! Such a nice place. We sat in a booth that had black and white dog photos on the wall. So cute! I highly recommend Open Range for not only the food bc and service, but the ambience as well.

    Although it was not crowded, we sat for 20 minutes before being waited on. The steak I wanted was not available and the portion size of the fish I ordered was shocking when it arrived. I don’t see how they stay in business. We had reservations for 5;15 and by the time we left, 7:00, the place was packed. This may work in in Montana, where I live in Tx, the doors would be closed in 2 weeks.

    Quite disappointed, this used to be an amazing place for special occasions. The $24 smash burger looked like a McDonalds breakfast sandwich, if you want a good meal I recommend going to Ale Works or Tanglewood instead.

    Completely out of 3 different wines requested. The establishment had booked a rehearsal dinner that was pressuring the kitchen and service quality too. 4 of the filets ordered were overcooked and out of order at the table. The sides were great. I would strongly encourage closing during large parties in the future.

    The NY strip ($65) that I ordered was so thin that it should have bee served on a steak sandwich. The Caesar salad…very tasteless. The waiter however, was very nice. Expecting a great steak dinner while In Montana well, this is not the place to get it.
