O.NOIR Toronto will take you on a culinary journey through uncharted territory! Guests are invited to experience food, drinks, and conversation as never before – without the use of sight!
A meal will turn into a wonder to be discovered and explored. As the founder explains, eating in the dark heightens your remaining senses in order to smell and truly savour the food. As a result, the sense of touch, taste, smell, and hearing are amplified.
Guests are served by a member of our visually-impaired wait staff in an efficient and professional manner. The atmosphere is romantic, comfortable, and absent of lighting.

our server Dave was fantastic, very attentive, polite and amazing at what he does.
Had a great time ....food was delicious and service was awesome
A very unique experience that leaves you completely in the dark! The food was good but the experience is what you go for. Would be a unique first date letting you get to know the person without looks!
If you’re up to try new experiences this is definitely worth a try.
Had a great experience and decided to try the surprise menu options which were delicious
Great atmosphere! The food was very average, but you go to the reataurant for the experience! Definitely would recommend going at least once to try out dining in the dark. Would I go back... yes, but only with friends who haven’t had the chance to try this unique concept. I love the vibe of the restaurant, the staff are phenomenal, and it’s purpose is just awesome!
Our server was nice, but the two hostesses provided very poor service. The entrance was definitely overcrowded, but the host guy was way more polite to us an accommodating. Both women treated us as if were in a fast food restaurant. Plus the dining room had a very bad smell! The food is super expensive in comparison to the price. I went on Saturday Dec 8 for a birthday, and didn’t have a good experience at all. Would never go back and would definitely never recommend it!
Save our server was fantastic and made the experience just that much more enjoyable.
Definitely recommending this to all my friends and family.
Such an enriching experience!! Nazir was great!
Recommended to those open minded
It is actually pitch dark.
No matter how much ever time you give for your eyes to adjust, you simply wont be able to adjust to the darkness.
Dave was really good at service.
The food is just fine but its a must try experience.
Amazing food, amazing environment with great server. No pictures because it was pitch black! :)
Food was awful. Opted for the 3 course (x2) with my boyfriend. Also got 2 glasses of wine for an additional cost. Starter was Surprise Seafood - it was deep fried frozen calamari and one wilted salad leaf on my plate. Main was Filet Mignon....it was cut up for me and was burnt on the outside and med-well on the inside as requested but I'd say I got about 6 small slices of steak..the dish was to come with potatoes and veg. It was a pile of lukewarm unseasoned mashed potato that had a stale aftertaste. Veg was green beans that tasted like they were cooked 3 times they were so skinny. My boyfriend had the pesto chicken and he got about 5 strips of it with the same sides as me. Dessert was nice - Chocolate Mousse...decent portion but I am certain it was not homemade. All of this for $100 after tax with an additional $18 for the wine and then I was told I had to tip either 18% or 20% which brought the total to $137. Total rip off. When you go into the dark room...you can't see a thing, as expected but the room feels like it is a cold warehouse with old furniture. It was an interesting one-off experience but to be honest it is the most over-rated dining experience of my life so far. There was a radio station playing in the background and it wasn't classy at all for the cost of the food. I won't be back but don't regret going as I was always curious about it.
Overall a great experience! David our server put us at ease, eating in the dark is not easy!
This place is mailing it in. The concept is fun, but you're kind of over the novelty before your drinks arrive. The facility is run down and neglected - really tired. The food is embarrassingly bad - like a hospital cafeteria or something. Its really too bad because I've got to believe that at some point in the past the took care of the facility and made an effort on the food. Cannot recommend.
Our waiter Nasir was so friendly and provided fantastic service! Food was amazing as well.
Great experience but the food and the service could be better.
We all had a great night. Our waiter Dave was amazing. Food was fine.
So fun! Food wasn't fantastic but wasn't terrible either. Service and experience was super fun and amazing...which was the point.
Wanted to try a different eating environment and we loved the experience
Amazing experience! Great food and great service! Will definitely conee back for more. :)
The experience was interesting and quite enjoyable, in addition to the food: however, our experience was off-putting due to the very loud guests beside us (cackling at many points), who were not asked to quiet down and in turn, everyone in the room had to get louder to keep their conversations going. We were unable to speak to one another for the duration of our meal. At no point, were we asked by the wait staff how our meal was going. We only spoke when we received more courses of our meal. I was also incredibly put off by the staff who worked at the front, coordinating reservations and sales. They were curt, direct and cold. I was also unimpressed by the fact that the staff member required me to choose a tip amount from the receipt, tell her what percentage I was tipping then input it into the moneris machine, despite the fact that this option is available with moneris devices and doesn't make customers uncomfortable.
Great night and drinks. I found the meat dishes to be quite good, but my girlfriend is vegan and she didn't like her entree. Her dinner options were very limited but we had fun. The experience was something different and it kept us busy, with trying to navigate through our food or worrying about knocking over our drinks. The service was good, but at times the server left us unattended for a while. However, it was completely worth it just for the experience.
Most unique experience. Our waiter Nasir was excellent!
The surprise appetizer that we had was ahhhhhhmazing!
Also super curious what the room we were in looked like, not that it matters!
We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves.
This was an amazing and unique experience like no other restaurant! i would definitely recumbent this to anyone looking for a fun night out or for a special occasion. Our server Dave was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable! He had great energy which made the experience even better.
I booked this restaurant strictly for a fun experience for my husband's birthday.
As a sufferer of anxiety, I had not given it much thought and probably should have.
Ironically, my husband had a panic attack, not me. We worked through it by breathing together...which created a really intimate bond instantly.
We both agreed that once our initial anxiety lifted by breathing together we loved the experience.
Criticisms: VERY loud. To the point where the screaming of the other guests was causing our discomfort. The staff in the lounge were dressed in street wear. A little more thought as to uniform would have been nice.
An interesting perspective....i suffer from severe depression. When my husband asked why I was more comfortable then one would suspect because of my anxiety I responded that I often feel/sense that level of darkness in my soul. It was actually nice to not be alone sitting with it.
I booked a dinner for a group of 8 and we were all extremely excited to experience O.Noir. Once we got there, one member of our group wasn't able to handle the complete darkness, so she left. We were sat at a table.....and we waited. And waited. After an hour, the 3 of us who had ordered appetizers finally got them. At that point, we knew we weren't going to have time to stay for our mains and desserts, so we spend 25 minutes trying to get the attention of someone who worked there to lead us out. After we realized no one was around to assist, one of our members felt his way around the room until he found a door that led him out. Once we were finally led out, it took another 25 minutes for them to get our food packed up for us to take. Which means it would have been almost 2 hours from when we sat down before most of our group got any food.
The mind-boggling part is that we could hear other tables in the room just flying through their meals and having a great time. So I don't think our experience is the norm...it just seems like our table had been forgotten. Which is a complete shame because we paid for an experience and all of us ended up having to take our food to go, ruining the whole point. And when we were leaving, not a single employee seemed to feel bad about our excessively long wait. Not to mention we were still charged for the girl who left, even though she never sat down or ate anything.
The biggest thing I don't understand is how not a single staff member is positioned throughout the restaurant in case something goes wrong. We were calling out for anyone for 25 minutes...but no one responded. What if there had been an emergency??
Great experience, the wait staff did a great job guiding the whole experience. The food was good and it’s definitely fun trying to eat in pitch dark. Only issues were the meal can take a while because of the time to serve everyone and the drinks weren’t as good.
I did not like not knowing if I had food on my plate. At one point I was just stabbing my plate trying to find food.
Steak was chewy and low quality beef. Too long of a wait between courses
It’s a great experience!
I went to O.Noir for the first time and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I'll never forget it.
It was a very expensive evening. Fun experience but not worth the $
A little light music would be nice, nothing too loud, but it would help ease some of the "newness" anxieties.
Excellent experience and great food that didn’t disappoint.
the waiter forgot about us for 45 minutes. Everyone was starting their main course and my boyfriend and I did not even receive our starter. Because of this we were at the restaurant for so long we missed our desert and a comedy show we were going to after. It was my boyfriends birthday so that made the experience kind of worse. No one apologized and they tried to charge us for the desert we never had. I also asked for a seafood starter and got coconut curry chicken. I was really disappointed.
This place would be great if they were able to drown out how loud every other table was talking. Could barely hear my partner talk to me.
Went here last weekend with myself and my boyfriend our server was NASIR, he is incredible as a waiter and it’s amazing how comfortable he is working and server and guiding us in pitch darkness, when he himself is visually impaired. The experience is like no other and it really makes you realize how different it is to only go by smell, touch, taste, and hearing. 100% worth the money and drive to Toronto. Experience like no other and the food was incredible (even though I couldn’t see it)
Very fun highly recommend to anyone looking for something new
Our waiter, i think his name was Kassir was amazing! a geat experience that makes you appreciate the service the waiters provide. food was flavorful and yummy and definitely an experience people should try. a good date night out!
The first time I went it was me and my husband so we could strike a conversation regardless of the noise, this time we were a group of 7 which made impossible to talk to everyone ..
