The AA London Hotel of the Year 2010-2011, the Royal Horseguards, overlooks the River Thames towards the London Eye; make the most of the view on the One Twenty One Two al fresco terrace. Named after the famed Scotland Yard telephone number, Whitehall 1212, this classically decorated, cosily sumptuous restaurant could have easily stepped straight out of a noir thriller, with its expensive look and understated ambience. The crowd at One Twenty One Two attract politicos and policy makers from the corridors of Whitehall, as well as gourmands from around the world intent on sampling the modern British AA Rosette menu. The high quality dishes are made using the best ingredients the UK has to offer – south coast diver-caught scallops, Dublin Bay prawns and Casterbridge beef are just some examples – and presented with finesse.
