People at our table tried a variety of starters, mains, and dessert and thought all the dishes were excellent. The prime rib special was a great value.
The best thing about dinner was the half priced bottles of wine. We went for the matzo ball soup but the matzo ball was nothing like what I've grown up with. Couldn't eat it, nobody noticed. Chicken was dry. This place used to be pretty good. Not so much now.
Outstanding service! Location, ambiance and setting is very good.
Great location, excellent food, excellent service-
One Market always pleases with great food, wine and service. Lunch with friends was no exception. Octopus and house-made Bratwurst to share then tender flat iron steak were all delicious with a terrific new find Cabernet--Stardust. Toffee crunch cake--yum! The somm gave us a unique white wine tasting of unusual varietals and our server was knowledgeable and entertaining. (And the noise level allows you to have a conversation without shouting.) This is why One Market is at the top of my list.
It’s a great place for a lunch meeting.
Had dinner last night and as usual the food was all done very well. At this price point I should not have been served my starter without the accompanying glass of wine I ordered. After 5 min or so our waiter saw I was just sitting rather than eating. He then went to get the wine. For my main course I was not offered any accompanying wine and I sat hoping the waiter would check on us so I could point out my silverware had not been replaced. After 5 to 10 minutes I got up and took silverware from another table. At that point waiter asked if I needed anything. I pointed out U had no wine and would have liked some with my main. They promptly got me a glass but I was a bit perturbed with what appears to be a disconnect between our food server and our waiter. I don’t know why our waiter was not serving our food and attending when appropriate.
As always , had a wonderful lunch with my daughter. It is close to her work and the valet parking makes it super easy for me, coming from the south peninsula.
It was my turn to pick a restaurant for a meal with my business colleagues. I wanted something quiet, slightly more formal than a bistro or cafe, and in a location people could find even if they don’t know San Francisco that well. One Market was perfect.
Perfect place for a special occasion. We were honoring a friend's Big Birthday and the attention to detail and graciousness of the servers added to our fun. Her tuna tartar and carrot soup were both excellent; the final touch of birthday greetings in chocolate was thoughtful. We felt totally unrushed and spent a long time dawdling over coffee and conversation. I have never been disappointed in One Market and will definitely return.
The food was excellent and the waiter tended to us promptly throughout the meal. I hate having to hunt down my server and even as the restaurant filled up for lunch he took great care of us.
Our seating was away from a soft piano as we had a nice group that wanted to talk. We had delicious food and our service was warm and fun.
Attentive and friendly service. Food was okay - nothing special. Wine selections by sommelier were excellent. Our party seemed to have a good time.
We came for the weekend prime rib dinner. It was delicious! And half priced wine. Very nice service, live piano music. All in all a lovely evening out.
One Market knows how to do fish. We also enjoyed a great bottle of Pinot and dessert. The chef's preparations were ingenious.
Excellent food and service. Totally reliable for an upscale professional lunch and to have a conversation.
Great restaurant, great location, drinks are superb
My tuna quad almost inedible; doused with chili oil. Our dessert was also not well done..sloppy and unsophisticated .nice place
This was a nice venue for an anniversary celebration.
Just a all around pleasant experience. Will definitely return!
Noisy and the food was really not good, I had hoped for a quiet place and a delicious meal with an old friend, I was disappointed
Great place for business or personal. Rock fish was fresh and delicious. Recipe was complex and tasty without being fussy. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their dish as well. We'll be back!!
Great way to enjoy an evening out. The food is always great but it's nice when the service matches and this night it did. We enjoyed well made drinks, beautifully prepared and beautiful looking food, and the main course and the dessert were great. It was a quiet night (place was busy but quiet) and we had a very nice time. Looking forward to coming again!
The Prime Rib Dinner on a Friday or Saturday night is an excellent value. There is also a piano player which adds to the ambience.
One Market is one of my favorite restautants in San Francisco. The food is always outstanding with excellent service. The prime rib dinner now featured is to die for.
One Market is consistent. And that is not a dig by any means, consistent in a restaurant is indicative of a well-managed resto. I was dining with an old friend, and One Market was my default. There would be no hipster-wait. The dinner was tasty, the service attentive but not hovering. Well-priced wine list. The menu is focused and the dishes were to our requests. The front of house was efficient, and as our catch-up conversation ran long, there was no pressure for us to leave our table. All in all, a solid choice for dinner.
We are regulars at One Market; the food is creative and outstanding and the service is usually top notch. On this visit, the food was hitting new heights; however, service was an issue - it bordered on indifference. The server was very slow; we waited 30 minutes for our drink order to be taken and for them to arrive. Starters came out promptly, but the entrees were very delayed, to the point the server mentioned that she had checked with the chef and they would be out soon. I asked if the kitchen was running slow that evening and she said it was busier than they expected. I looked around and noted that the restaurant was not full and she just smiled at me as if to say, "oh you little man, you do not understand such complicated things." When the entrees arrived, I did not have a fork (having gone with the starter plate but not having been replaced). I took one from an adjacent table. The server then came up to apologize for that, but did not replace the fork on the next table, I guess that is a bus-person's job in her mind. Outstanding food; we'll be back. But we explicitly ask not to have this server again. I did share our frustrations with the host and hostess.
The prime rib was terrific. The accompanying spinach was too salty for either of us to eat. The mashed potatoes were average. The ginger peach iced tea was unavailable. The room was so dark, my husband had a real problem seeing the food on his plate. The service was great.
I enjoyed the drinks, service and ambiance, salad, desserts but a little disappointed with the Prime rib quality and I rather have my prime rib roast that rotisserie. Overall is excellent, i shall return with other food on the menu. 5 stars
We had such a GREAT server! The wine list was so incredible. I want to come back just to get more treasures off such an amazing wine list. The prawn louis salad was pretty disappointing otherwise it would have been a higher rating on the food.
The Surgeon was amazing. Tried 4 desserts and lived them all. The Apple pie was fantastic Service was great.
The beef tartare was outstanding, and the sturgeon was fantastic! The best.
Awesome service as always and the crab cakes NEVER disappoint. The chopped salad was wonderful! My “GOTO place with clients”
Booth request was totally ignored, never addressed or mentioned even though requested. We were initially placed at a table near the entrance door and piano player even though the reservation was made one week in advance. The seating was crammed together. Cocktail service was poor resulting in a delay to receive at our table.
The meal was really good. The service was incredible. Look forward to going back again.
Room felt too big
We live in SoCal but get to visit SF at least twice each year. And we ALWAYS go to One Market and we are NEVER disappointed. Great menu, service, and ambiance. It's always a treat to dine here
Atmosphere was perfect for business lunch.
One Market Restaurant is my favorite restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and the service is excellent. The staff is very efficient and hospitable.
