One East Urban Bar and Kitchen
The food was very good. The service was slow, but that was acceptable because it was Valentine's Day. The problem came when our server brought the bill. It was not itemized and it was more than I expected. I asked the server for the itemized bill and suddenly the bill had been reduced by $41.00. It appeared that she thought to just to include her tip without our knowing. She came back apologizing saying that we could pay the lower bill. The thing is, I would have tipped her more if she had just given the original bill. She cheated herself out of an additional 5%. I understand that holidays are busy and demanding for wait staff, trying to ensure your tip without that being stated upfront, in particular for a table of four, is theft.
I was impress on how accommodating they were with our needs. Food was excellent
Food was OK. Not exceptional. Prices were higher than value. Probably wouldn’t go again by choice
When my wife and I arrived for our 6:30 reservation, we waited at the host stand for atleast 5 minutes before we tried to get the attention of a server, who HAD to have heard me talking to her, even making eye contact a couple of times. Then, when she would not help us, I went up to the bartender and politely let him know we had not been helped yet. His response was 'we are short handed' He offered no apology and said he would try to get someone to seat us. It was several more minutes before he talked to a server to seat us...the same server that had ignored us previously. She greeted us coldly and offered no apology. The server that waited on us after we were FINALLY seated, was very nice. The food was WAY overpriced and not at all tasty. All in all, on what a special, rare date night for me and my wife, was dampered by extremely poor and rude service and a bill of $100 with no satisfaction to show for it. We will not be going back and will make sure we discourage others from giving them their hard earned money as well.
Anniversary
Food was ok service was bad; made the booking for a table top- when onsite got told that was wrong, no bookings for table tops...they r on first come first serve.. and the lady did not even know how to check me in for opentable.. hopefully they eventually did that right and I get my points
Foot was great. Waiting staff was warm and helpful. Kitchen was extremely slow. With only two tables seated, it took an extremely long time for the food to be prepared.
Great food!! Service was good, maybe a tad slow but the server was needing to cover a lot of tables!
Service was adequate but nothing special. On the servers recommendation my husband had the fish which he found dry and lacking in flavor. The pasta dish for $26.00 was way overpriced for what you got which was some spaghetti with a little pesto and some peas. Could have done much better myself. We did have a starter of flatbread that arrived hot and tasty. This place really needs to step up its game to compete in a crowded market.
Over an hour from order to food. Made us late to a play.
We arrived at 6:15 with a reservation. Drinks were slow. Order taken at 6:30.....not bad. No food until we asked a second time what was happening.
Finally served at 7:40.
No need to go back. No us. Not anyone.
Service was a bit slow. Food was very good.
Our waitress was awesome. The wine was good but over priced which isn’t abnormal at a restaurant. The food was cold so wasn’t too excited about that. Super expensive to have cold food plus this is the same restaurant that is used for breakfast so no ambiance what so ever.
I wish there were a third option for “Would you recommend to a friend”, with the choice being “Maybe”. While the food was tasty and overall well done, the service was just so-so. Although personable and friendly, the Yacht Rock Brunch seemed understaffed and unorganized. As patrons who hadn’t attended this type of brunch previously, we were seated and told that a server would be by shortly; well, spent roughly 20 min. waiting and wondering how the process works (why wait for a server if at a buffet you can serve yourself)?
In short, we were left with an impression of “meh” with regards to the overall experience. While we want to be fair and give this brunch another chance in summer 2020, said 2nd chance will be our last if the service and organization isn’t improved.
I can't comment if I would recommend to someone. Hubs and I changed up anniversary plans and decided to do brunch. It was Yacht Rock Brunch by the pool. $23 for brunch buffet and + $5 for endless mimosas and Bloody Mary's. I made a reservation for 11:15am. We got there a little after 11am and were seated promptly. It was pouring rain out so no poolside which was sad but it's the Midwest. Our server came over, asked if wanted coffee or juice. Said we could help ourselves to the buffet. I had to ask him about the mimosas/mary's as he left the table. I have been a server before and this by far was the WORST service I've ever had. He barely came by our table or checked on us. He would swoop by, grab a plate and he was gone. He brought the check and we weren't even done. I had to ask for a mimosa and he just brought it back and left. We were done with brunch in less than 45 mins. It was just sadly disappointing since there was so much hype over it. While the food was good, the selection was incredibly limited. Only like 3-4 non breakfast items. I could name everything they had on 2 hands probably. The crab cake eggs benny were horrible. So would I recommend it? Yes and no... someone else might love it and have a way better experience than we did. Will I go back? Nope. Ruined for me.
We originally reserved for a dinner to celebrate our 5-year anniversary. We did not realize when we arrived that this was actually part of the Weston hotel lobby. That immediately changed how we felt about staying for dinner so we decided just to have drinks and an appetizer then go somewhere else for dinner. That turned out to be a very good decision because the drinks and the appetizer was outstanding! Our server gave us great service as well.
Food was good service was ok.
We ordered entrees and dessert at the same time, but dessert never came. We were there for an hour and 45 minutes total and had to ask for the check 3 times before almost missing our show.
The room doesn’t muffle conversations and when it is crowded, having a business discussion can be hard. The fruit salad was lovely but not on a bed of greens, which was what I expected when I added salmon. The kitchen was smart enough to serve the salmon as a side.
