Great wait staff and food and cocktails are amazing!
We ordered the meatballs and snapper, both of which were delicious. It would have been even better if both had been served with linguine or capelli d'angelo. Our server was excellent. We were looking for a romantic restaurant, and were so disappointed with the downstairs indoor dining area. The upstairs room would have only been marginally better. The outdoor patio and upper deck are pleasant if the weather is cooperative. But overall, the romantic setting we'd sought eluded us. Highly recommend an interior decorator to transform O&J into a much more memorable date night choice.
we sat in the garden which is built on more than 1 level, surrounding a 250yrs old live oak tree. It was a memorable setting, good for a special occasion. The ground floor was a bit noisy with tables of 6-8 people. Request away from ground floor if you wish to talk ....
Shared a mixed seafood appetizer, and this was followed by a red snapper and a chicken dish; both very well done. Did not need a side order.
Finished with 2 espressos and drank 3/4 bottle of Barbera d'Alba which was good and reasonably priced.
Slow service, mediocre food
Excellent food, great service, nice patio, enjoyable evening
We had a reservation and were greeted and seated promptly. Covid rules seem to be well established. Waitstaff was very good and food was great. The menu from the website and the actual menu are very different. Much more limited menu right now as with many other establishments. This is a really nice place to eat and spend some time with someone special.
Food was amazing as always. A table opened up outside so we felt more comfortable during the current state of the world. All the staff was wonderful and very attentive. All the reasons why O&J continues to be one of my favorite places!
Wonderful opportunity to introduce my husband to a fabulous favorite that I had been meaning to go back to for a long time😊
We booked for our friend’s surprise birthday party and let the host know in advance and explained we were a larger group of 8 so we’d prefer somewhere where we wouldn’t bother others but were seated in the middle of the restaurant with concrete floors. Fine, but unsurprisingly our group noise was a bit loud. Our waitress was pretty rude from the get go and didn’t wish our friend a happy birthday or really do anything for it and never came over to check on us. I assume what was a manager came over and told us very abruptly to be quiet. Food was average, wine was limited and overpriced but cocktails were great and ambiance was beautiful, but we spent over $400 there with an auto grated bill and were a little taken aback that’s how we were treated. Probably wouldn’t return, but thank you to the host and server’s assistant they were both extremely kind and attentive!
Perfect patio, great wine, great food, excellent service!!!!
Steak was outstanding. Service was great. Nice outdoor dining option.
The restaurant was barely filled and we had to sit at a table right by the front door. There were very boisterous children on the patio that were not tended-to -- the manager was exuberant about telling everyone to put their mask on when we stood up next to our table, but he couldn't go outside and maintain the "classy" feeling of the restaurant. We'd been there many times before, and it was nothing like this. We came there for a special celebration dinner and it was like we were at Chili's. This was the first place I thought to bring my wife, but I'm regretting my choice. I'm going to select "I would not recommend a friend", because of the way things are going to have to be for the foreseeable future.
Do not let covid stop you from enjoying this place. Food is great. Plenty of open room and servers wear KN95 masks. Get the pasta!!
Patio dining was great - plenty of room and fans going! Food, as it has been in the past, was amazing. The waiter was pleasant, efficient, and helpful. An overall great experience.
Great date night location, amazing food and very romantic
First time at Olive and June was wonderful! Our server Alex was great and times out meal perfectly! Also, don’t skip dessert!
We both got what we wanted, Tasty, light and healthy, and tasty and hearty. Great service.
Amazing food and atmosphere 🙌🏾
Amazing food, great waiter!
Have been many times. This was for our anniversary. Covid protocol was excellent. Food was excellent and the sever had great recommendations. The wine was exceptional.
While the food was great, the service was disappointing. We made a reservation for 8:45 and when we arrived, we were told the restaurant closed at 9, so we needed to have our order in quickly and to not sit and chat for a long time. We thought it was really strange they would let us make a reservation, but make us feel rushed. Our waitress rushed us the entire time as well. Like I said, the food was great, but the service definitely took away from the overall experience.
We sat outside and had a great meal! The tables were spaced apart, but I would say that if they were staggered, I would feel a bit better. I thought that the fans were sort of blowing the sneezes of a child right at us, from the table that was directly in front of us... haha. Great food and a great experience overall though!
Amazing location, ambiance and food. The meatballs were banging
This is my favorite Restsurant in Austin. Food and ambience are always on point. I’m an executive Pastry chef do I can be quite selective. I’ve never not had the best meal when I come here!
We had a delightful evening celebrating a birthday. The service was exceptional and we felt very safe on the patio. Wonderful wine list!
I really liked the outdoors patio but they do need more fans for the patio area as it felt pretty hot at night 🥵to enjoy having a nice fine dining.
Alex was great too ! 👍🏼
Great food. Nice menu selection. Very good wine selection. Comfortable. Well managed. Trained staff.
Best Service we have had in years - Alessandra was perfectly attentive, perfectly knowledgeable - gave great recommendations all the while being personable and fun.
Food was great!
Thank you, we’ll be back.
Exquisite ambiance among the trees winding through three levels of outdoor terrace. With Covid, we’ve only been eating outdoors and this is the most romantic patio we’ve found. Alex serves our table and told us about the history of the place - what a rare gem! We just moved into the neighborhood and everyone said ‘Olive and June is our favorite spot!’. Now, we absolutely see why. Many more visits to come!
Just a sweet sweet dinner. Made even sweeter by our very sweet server, Cielle. Ravioli? More please!! Keep the Rigatone coming as well! And double me down on the sicilian Margerita! Seriously, I’ll have two. Bring your parents here, shove them full with arancini and then pour some peroni on their head. Thanks for the dinner.
Absolutely wonderful experience, we will be repeat customers.
Great experience — we’ll return! Food was fresh and server was helpful.
We love Olive and June. Such great food and service.
Each course was absolutely delicious. Such a cute little gem in Austin. Highly recommend for a special occasion. There was an “open table” fee which was added to our bill and we weren’t made aware of it beforehand. I think it was a “sharing fee” which didn’t make much sense since we only shared the appetizer and ordered our own entrees. I’d still recommend Olive and June regardless, but they lost a star for that.
EDIT: I received a call the next day from a manager who refunded us the “open table” fee, which was actually called an “open food” fee and was for the chicken my boyfriend added to his entree! The manager was so kind and refunded us this fee regardless of our misinterpretation of it! We’ll definitely be repeat diners!
Love it, The food was awesome!
The waitress was ver nice!
Beautiful Patio and great service! Long time favorite
The crab leg in one dish was minuscule, and hard to get out of the shell. My wife had to abandon fork method and dig with her fingers to get the tiny bites of meat, which wasn't her expectation of the dish. Appetizers were excellent, drinks were great, and overall we felt like staff and kitchen were doing their best. We've been regulars before Covid, and this was our 1st time back in many months. All good, we'll be back. Bullocks
