The restaurant was very busy. Our server was super busy and bustling she and forgot to bring our drink order. Someone else made sure to keep our water glasses full and brought us bread and oil and later our drink order when we asked. So it was totally ok! The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was delicious, the hummus appetizer was a little bland. Loved the blackened scallops entree and the pork schnitzel entree .The creme brulee was great too. We went downstairs after dinner into the bar and had a drink and listened to live music. Social distancing was in place in both the dining room and bar and we felt very comfortable. Our reservation was for 7 and we did not feel rushed and enjoyed having a nice dinner. The restaurant interior is really pretty
The food at Olesia’s is unique, comforting, and delicious! We have eaten here twice and will be back!
We always enjoy the food, service and ambiance.
We never got a seat & had to eat at the bar, apparently the 2nd bartender called off. Needless to say the service was god awful as the restaurant was sold out w/a wedding going on upstairs. The Lobster Risotto was awful, way undercooked and no flavor whatsoever. This is my 3rd time to the Tavern, I want to like it as I loved it when they were in North Royalton, growing pains I guess!
We made a reservation for 7:00. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told it wouldn’t be too long before we were seated. Well, we waited an hour to be seated. There is no point in making reservations if you’re going to make people wait for a table. The point of a reservation is to be seated upon arrival. We should have trusted our gut and left after waiting 20 minutes because the rest of our experience was subpar. After finally being seated around 8:00, it seemed clear that the waitress was overwhelmed. She came to our table only about 3 times, did not check up to see if we needed anything and had to wait a long time for drinks. At this point, there were only about 3 other tables seated in the restaurant besides ours. The food was fine, but definitely not worth the price that you pay for it. On top of that, tables were not socially distanced. Had it been a full dining area at the time we were seated, it would not have been a Covid friendly place. I understand that eating at a restaurant during a pandemic is a completely personal choice, however I expect a business to take the precautions necessary to make customers feel safe. This was not the case at Olesia’s. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody, we had an extremely poor experience and will not be returning.
When I made the reservation I was asked if it was a special occasion. It was and I replied that it was our wedding anniversary. After our meal it was not even mentioned by the waitress. I did not expect a free dessert, jus an acknowledgement of our anniversary.
New Years Eve family dinner.
Had a fun time on New Year's Eve 2020! The sea bass was delicious!
Great food, huge portions, great value. I would recommend splitting appetizers and entrees due to their size. Nice ambiance, a bit on the loud side however they do several areas that are quieter. We will definitely be going back.
I read other reviews saying the service wasn't that good, I liked our waiter, but he was waiting on the whole restaurant, so the service was slow. Restaurant was stunningly beautiful!! The food was moderate, I had schnitzel and they did not pan fry it, it was put in a deep fryer, pork, it really lacked flavor and then they drowned it with mushroom soup?? If you ever had real schnitzel, that wasn't it! Will I go back, you bet, I will stick to the ethnic part of the foods they offer, they looked great!
Service could use a little work. Nice people, just need to get the routine down. Missed our appetizer. Apologized, boxed it, no charge. Place really is nicotine inside.
It's an extremely charming place and we had a very good service experience. We wish the taste matched the ambiance and this would definitely be a place worth visiting over and over again. Unfortunately, the value to make the drive and spend the $ here just isn't there for us after tasting something that was pedestrian.
Christmas with family
We love the beet martini! The food and service are always excellent! Looking forward to our next visit.
Exceptional evening! Food was to perfection! Prime rib & sea bass. Huge desert selection.
We had a party of six for a birthday celebration. Everyone’s meal (and dessert)was excellent and the service was very attentive. It was a really wonderful experience and we will definitely return.
Took the family here for Christmas dinner. We were very happy with the renovations, and the food was fantastic.
Overall the experience was not great. This could have been a fluke, however I had hair in two separate dishes. The food itself (aside from the hair) was just average.
Fantastic meal. Great atmosphere and such a beautiful restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!
Great ambiance and decor. Service was just OK. Fod was good, but the menu is unfocused. great entertainment downstairs.
The restaurant was very irresponsible when it comes to dining in a pandemic. Many customers walked around with no mask and no employees said anything. Tables were not 6 feet apart and felt that I was dining in pre-pandemic times. Chilean Sea bass was chewy and fishy. Overall, not a good experience and will not return
We always enjoy the food, service and ambiance at Olescia's!
My daughter and husband loved the Borsch soup and Lobster bisque soup!
Excellent food, good service. Price is appropriate for made from scratch meal. The schnitzel was tender, tasty and serving size good. Stuffed cabbage was excellent also. Dinners in the $20-25.00 range. Give this place a try.
The food was very good and the restaurant inside is very nice. They have a speak easy in the basement which is fun place to be also. Go you will it be disappointed.
excellent food excellent service. Beautiful building.
we will return
There is no place better than Olesia’s Taverne of Richfield. The food is wonderful, such a variety of foods to select I get some thing different every time and am never disappointed. This place is such a gem in the Akron/Cleveland area. Felt very safe during Covid. You have to go here, such a beautiful place with great food.
Their Thanksgiving dinner was amazing and the drink menu is outstanding. Such a wonderful, holiday meal without the stress and pressure of cooking all day. This will be our go to every Thanksgiving. Thank you for the impeccable service!!
A nice time was had by all. Good food and good drinks.
I finally got to go to Olecia's and wasn't disappointed one bit. I went with my son for my birthday and walking in ran into two friends and we ended up sitting together. The appetizer medley with salmon was awesome. I had melt in your mouth salmon for dinner, my son had a scallop and lobster mac and cheese dish which was so good. Our friends had a salmon dinner also and a salad(I don't remember, but she said it was great). Borscht was good. the upstairs restaurant was so elegant. Olesia did a fantastic job on the renovations. We ended up sitting in the casual Speakeasy bar in the lower level. A more fun place where you could go to hang out at the bar or sit at tables. Menu is the same as upstairs. I would love to go again sometime soon.
We had heard a lot of hype about their food from relatives. I was given a gift certificate for Olesia’s last Christmas which is really why we went there. Entrees were very good. Appetizers okay. Not impressed by the Ukrainian dessert. The waitress did not describe it correctly. We would not go back.
The food was really disappointing. I had high hopes but they really let us down. My fish had a very off putting odor. Not fishy but smelled like burned meat. It was very bland as well. My dates scallops were so salty they we alone not edible. Maybe they had an off night. I’ll try them again.
Shockingly irresponsible regarding pandemic mitigation strategies. I regret allowing myself to be seated and I will never return.
Awesome experience and amazing food. We highly recommend!
Great food and great service!!
Incredible good and ambiance!
I love this place. The comfort of home cooked meals and the wonderful decor . . . . .one of my favorite places.
the food was wonderful, but we had to wait for 20 minutes for our tablr, even though we had a reservation. Our waitress was pleasant and tried so hard, but was overwhelmed by all thentables she had. i think alot of people came without reservations and thry were seated on the patio, but then there weren't enough help to handle all the business. The food was wonderful.
Nice menu, a lot to choose from. Good size portions and reasonably priced.
I love going to this restaurant. My first time on fireplace side. Very noisey.Food came out very fast. Only a quarter way thru salad when entree arrived. No room on table with four people. Like eating in a booth much better. Going to miss the outdoor dining over winter.
