All the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the noise level was not so high as to preclude conversation. A wonderful place for a Valentine's Day dinner.

Food was good, service (server Jasmine) was GREAT! Short ribs have always been our regular order- this time they were a bit fatty, with a lot fat we left on the plate. Other than that, apps, dessert, and wine were their usual great selves. Order something other than the short ribs and you will not be disappointed. And ask for Jasmine!

We returned to Olea after an excellent first experience. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent and different offering new experiences. The environment is pleasant, elegant and exciting if a bit energetic. We will try the outside dining next time for a different experience as recommended by Kevin. Well done.

Went to restaurant for first time during Newport Beach Restaurant week. Service was attentive and polite. I chose Restaurant week special of Chilean Sea Bass. It came with a choice of appetizer and dessert. Food was just ok, and prices were relatively high.

Everything we had tasted off and un-seasoned. We sent back a special soup. The duck wings didn't taste right, the agniotta was off, the soup was off. I brought this up to management. They stated that a different crew was operating the business and kitchen that night. Extremely expensive and disappointing experience.

A victim of its own success. We arrived on time for our reservation, and had to wait 30 minutes for a suitable table. Not the restaurants fault, we just wanted a spot that we could actually talk to each other. Most of the dinning tables are along the perimeter of the restaurant with a large bar area occupying the center of the restaurant. This creates a lively buzz for the whole place and as I said the place is a victim of its own success. Eventually we were able to get a small table for two on the patio, and the hostess compensated us for the trouble with a complimentary appetizer. The food and service were very good and we finally had the evening we had hoped for with a minor speed bump initially. Would definitely recommend it to others as long as they are aware of what to expect.

We had a 7pm reservation and did not sit down until 7:15, not good. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. It is a crowded place and loud. You have a bar in the middle where people maybe lined up two deep. The clear your plates away quickly even though your guest has not competed their meal- they seem to want to rush you out. I would not go out of my way to come here.

We enjoyed our first visit to Olea. The food was excellent, fit for a foodie, but with great flavor for thr rest of us. The sea bass and lamb dishes were superb. It was a bit noisy for, but it was a Friday. It was packed. We had a reservation but had a significant wait. The hostess Ashley apologized and along with her co-hostess did everything they could to make us comfortable culminating in an excellent table location. Cary was an excellent server whose food descriptions and recommendations were spot on. She was personable and made us feel welcomed. Kevin, a co-owner came to our table to personally apologize for our wait, offering a complimentary appetizer as a courtesy. The Agnolotti is their best appetizer and is a must for all dining at Olea. While not a foodie, I would say the complex combination of flavors were amazing. We plan to return (on a week night) to find room at the bar and experience other small plate selections.

A good meal on our second visit in two years. If you want to chat, ask for quiet seating that will put you in the "covered patio" area. Imaginative menu and good execution. Service was excellent.

Two of us dined on 1/16/2020. We were welcomed by a friendly and efficient hostess, and seated at a comfortable table. We liked the ambience and lively vibe. The food and management was the problem. The smoked salmon deviled eggs with caviar was excellent, but the corn chowder soup was bland and rather tasteless; so we left some. The roasted cauliflower appeared to have languished since its preparation and it lacked character, so we only ate half of that. The wagyu beef in the burger was good, but the sandwich itself was soggy. The problem was the herb fries, which were extremely limp and tasted raw. We did not eat those. Perhaps they also languished, but there was certainly no quality control in the kitchen. Our server asked if everything was all right after our first few bites of appetizer, but then we didn’t see anyone until after our plates were cleared. When our server reappeared, we explained our dissatisfaction with the dishes, and she hastily retreated to the kitchen. Without consulting us, shereturned with complimentary desserts, but neither of us eat their main ingredient, so those were abandoned. Management was either unaware or uninformed of our situation, so we simply paid the full bill for half-eaten dinners and left.

You can chalk up one bad experience to luck and unfortunate menu choices, but poor supervision, training, and, most of all lack of quality control are more fundamental problems. We shall not return.

A group of coworkers and I went here for dinner. We were greeted right away and led to our table. There were 6 of us, so we had a table off by itself in the back. It was perfect as we tend to get a little loud and we wouldn't disturb other patrons. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! The duck wings normally come with 4 but we asked if they could make it 6 and they agreed with no hesitation. The brussel sprouts are a must to order. They were the favorite by everyone at the table. A few people ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. We ordered a couple different desserts and everyone's favorite was the chocolate cookie with peanut butter gelato. My coworkers and I couldn't stop talking about the food and restaurant for the next few days. If you want a delicious meal, I highly recommend Olea. You will not be disappointed!

I hate to check the every day dining box because it’s anything but every day food! If I lived close by I’d go every day! I go once a month after my hair appointment at Madison Salon and I am never disappointed! I’ve had most everything on the menu once or twice at least and would recommend highly every single item as well as cocktails crafted superbly and you get to watch the game if you’re interested. I also always meet the most wonderful clientele sitting next to me and the staff always treat me like family. One of my favorite spots for sure❤️

We were sat outside on the patio, which I did not mind as I seemed nice out there. However, I could not pull my chair all the way up to the table because of a brick column. My husband had to move his chair into the doorway to move the table and he kept getting hit.
I ordered the fish special however, it was overcooked and tough.
We were going to order dessert but our check came before we were even asked if we wanted dessert.
So many better places out there.

What an experience! We so enjoyed our time at Olea on Friday night. I'm not sure what to say other than WOW. The pumpkin agnolotti was just insane. I was blown away by every bite. Also, the cheese and meat platter is the best I've had in Orange County. The experience could not have been any better. Service, hospitality, drinks, food... All of it was out of this world. Thank you!

We sat in the outside area that is enclosed. There were heat lamps and it was lovely. Service was great, everyone who works there genuinely care and the food was delicious. It was New Year’s Eve and they had several specials but I really like that they still offer their regular menu. Kasey was our server and she was delightful.
