The staff was so courteous and the food was fresh and so flavorful
The food was great and the service was top notch! The kitchen created a wonderful meal so much so I bought them a round at the end of our night! Definitely going back!
This was our first visit to Olea. My wife took me, my son and his girlfriend on Saturday night to celebrate an early Father's Day. Our server, Jasmine was excellent. She recommended some of their craft cocktails and everyone in our party was happy with their choice. We started with the baked oysters and fried green tomatoes to share. Both were excellent, but the oysters were spectacular.
For our entrees, I had the meatloaf special which was disappointing for my taste. Too much BBQ sauce flavor, with charred vegetables and mashed potatoes. Just missed the mark for me. My wife had the chicken schnitzel with spaetzle which I enjoyed tasting, but the schnitzel was a bit dry. My son had the beef cheek stroganoff which he liked very much and his girlfriend had the filet which also looked well prepared.
Even though I wasn't that impressed, I think we'll give them another chance some other time for dinner. The menu is very creative and has potential, but in my opinion the flavor profiles were a bit heavy handed.
Very good service and food!!!
Lovely Birthday treat following diner.g ood food and service but the noise was deafening when we got there and had to move to the patio so we could hear each other.
Paul, your venture here is the best in Orange County. It's just the shot in the arm that Newport needed.
The Filet Mignon is the best in probably the whole US and I have eaten in quite a few states in my travels.
You really need to try the Duck Wings. Unbelievably awesome!!
I have recommended your restaurant to 5 clients in 2 days.
My wife and I are still talking about how good our meal was and can't wait to come back.
Bryan our server was also awesome and very hospitable. He made the whole dining experience a joy!
Another great meal at Olea. It always shows up on the "best of" lists and rightfully so. This was the first time that we sat outside and it was quite pleasant. Service was attentive and prompt. Food is always wonderful. The fried green tomatoes with burrata is a good starter as is the crab salad with beets. Salmon and bison short ribs were delicious. I always appreciate the heavy use of beautiful vegetables. Try the cocktails.
The food and service are amazing! Our server was very attentive!
Love the food, service and ambiance!
Very loud inside but great experience and good food
Would go back
Being a regular at their sister restaurant Ironwood I want it to give Olea a chance. It surpassed my expectations. Everything from the ambiance, the decor, the creative cocktails and the amazing food made my birthday celebration one to remember. There was a little misshap with my salmon, I ordered it grilled but it came poached, but they were quick to apologize for the mistake and fixed it right away. A big Thank you goes out to Patrick, one of the partners, for checking up on us and making sure everything was perfect for us on this special occasion. You have a customer for life.
Fantastic. Highly recommend
Nice find, beautiful interior. Well laid out, found seats at the bar quickly in a busy night .
Food was very good, hoping for a wider range of small dishes, shared plates. Sea bass Entree was solid , starter was a little small but very tasty . Drinks were very well done , service was good. Attentive pros, no hustle or attitude. Very nice experience, if atmosphere and energy are as important as the food I highly recommend .
The food is amazing and the service was great. Can’t wait to go back!
My new favorite place on 17th Street; the welcoming owners and staff are the primo, as the food is very very tasty! Had the pan seared Peking duck Breast cooked to perfection!
We really enjoyed the food and will definitely go back.
As expected from this awesome crew of restaurants (Vine, Ironwood), perfection! Service and dining was spot on. Love the decor, makes the experience that much better. I’m a fan🍷date night, girlfriends, family, business.. its low key enough for family and classic California cuisine for date night. Enjoy!
Terrific food nice service lik d the ambience
Food & Service were outstanding! I had the pork chop special, which was one of the best pork entrees I have ever had, and my guest had the stroganoff. The homemade noodles were perfect with the meat and sauce. We shared two appetizers: A Delicious ravioli, with unique ingredients, and, a very special duck liver pate, with a mouth-enticing spark of spice, spread on lightly toasted bread! Our server, Diana, was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The Managing Partner, Patrick Fanning, is an excellent "host." He is professional, engagingly friendly, and, without looking intrusive, oversees and guides his capable staff. Olea is a terrific addition to fine restaurant dining!
Great restaurant and food was very good. Sat on porch so we missed out on the ambiance inside the restaurant. Patio is a little tight. Very accommodating chef and wait staff. Prices are reasonable but like a lot of restaurants these days menu is limited. Overall I would recommend wholeheartedly.
Our waiter was awesome. We were seating in the back kinda by the kitchen but we didnt even notice it that much. It was perfect cuz we felt like it was our own private area. No one was really sitting next to our table because we had this huge brown structure statue of some sort of art object so it was nice.
We ate in the outside area. It was very comfortable and not too noisy. Our waitress was very good but initially had too many tables to take care of. They added another waitress after about 15 minutes.
Over all a great restaurant with good food and service
We had a terrific experience at OLEA. Do you meatball dish was one of the finest bills my date night I have ever experienced. Service was excellent. We do recommend dining on the patio as it is much quieter than the interior portion of the restaurant. Will be back again soon and I’ve already recommended it to a couple of friends.
Olea is a great little restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was great. A bit loud.
Really enjoyed it. Great food, service was EXCELLENT, good vibes. Amazing what they've done with this space. The interior is very nicely done all around, the patio looked inviting, though we didn't sit outside. Good portions, not skimpy; varied menu and nice selection of wines. I had the pork rib, my husband had the chicken. Both were excellent, had to take some home.
We shared a salad, with goat cheese and a nice dressing. My only complaint would be that I could use less nuts.
Everything was first rate. How nice to have a grown up restaurant in that location. Definitely will be back.
Crystal was amazing!!! Top shelf service! Had a round at bar to start, very polished bartenders. The food was superb and crystal crushed it with attentive service. You wont be disappointed!
Great service by Josh
we will be back thank you
Mother’ s Day
Excellent newer restaurant. Food was very very good. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of vibe going on.
Diana was an awesome server. She was very attentive and friendly. Paul the chef came out to greet us at our table during our service. We will be coming back along with our friends.
Chicken Sprizel was dry Ribs were very greasy Baby as[eargus
was tough Aside from that the wine was great
This was our first time at Olea but we've dined at the sister restaurant Ironwood. We had a reservation for 5 pm knowing that the bar gets very noisy later. The food was excellent, the soft-shelled crab appetizer, the grouper and lamb shank. These were the specials for Saturday and did not disappoint. Our server, Chelsea was good without being intrusive. By 6 pm the restaurant and bar were completely filled. If you want to hear a conversation opt for a very early reservation and/or sit on the outside area that is covered with plastic.
The service was top notch. The food was very good. Agree with many others that it is very NOISY! but sitting on the patio made it much quieter
Love this true neighborhood gem! Finally there is a restaurant in this area that caters to people looking for great food, service and ambiance without the hookup scene! This is the perfect neighborhood classy joint! A little loud on the inside, but love sitting on the covered patio. The food is fantastic! Definitely the best charcuterie board I’ve had. I’ve had everything from a salad to steak and never disappointed! The layout is great too! My husband and I have been here about 6 times, always running into friends. Our waiter is usually Josh (for whatever reason!) and he is the best!! All the staff is attentive, kind and accommodating. This is a must go!
Let me just get my only complaint out of the way because it's minor. I am partial to traditional tables and booths. I don't like single bench seats lined with tables with single chairs opposite the benches because the tables are always too close to each other. There....moving on. Walked in to a beautiful, cozy and hip gigantic bar surrounded by tables. Shown to our table by a hostess that seemed to be happy working there and then served by a waitress who knew what she was doing. We asked her about the difference between a whiskey cocktail and a bourbon cocktail and there was no hesitation in her explanation. She helped us pick the right drink and was spot on with her description! Super friendly staff, craft cocktails and great food. We ordered two burgers and one order of the ribs. Burgers cooked to perfection and ribs were just awesome! First time there and loved every minute. Looking forward to going back.
good, but wish a bit more balance for healthy entrees
Food was great, but our waiter was absolutely a joy !
The noise is beyond belief ! !
Sit outside or don’t go.
