Steakhouse
OldeStone is a refined steakhouse and lounge, dramatically designed inside a 150-year-old church, and located in the heart of historic New Hope, Pennsylvania. The menu focuses on premium steaks, seafood and other dishes, as well as a nod to popular items from original Marsha Brown recipes. This experience complemented by an outstanding bottled wine list and cocktail menu. Live music featured upstairs in the lounge.

Olde Stone has a great atmosphere, a rather Great Gatsbyesque vibe. The live jazz on the 3rd floor is spectacular. Love the addition of the small bar and tables. The drink menu was unique and delicious, I highly recommend the rye beverage with the cherry smoke. The food was great but more importantly the service was excellent. The previous restaurant had a somewhat pretentious attitude and you will not find this now. From the greeting at the front to the upstairs bar to the table staff, each and every person was gracious and friendly and knowledgeable. Very much looking forward to returning. I’m not often compelled to write reviews but this spot is worth a visit!

Simply amazing. The atmosphere at Oldestone is unrivaled. The staff was very professional yet still completely friendly, warm and humorous. Fantastic opportunity exists here to hear music which is sorely missed at many other restaurants presently! The food is not to be missed many different options for all tastes. Very, very good.

Very overpriced for the quality. My steak was supposed to be medium rare but was dry. Our lamp chop lollipop appetizers were very gamey tasting. It’s priced like a top steakhouse but it isn’t close to being one

Would have liked to see more creole inspired dishes. I think diners should know this is more of a steak house and not like the menu of it's former restaurant Marsha Brown. We were a bit disappointed to not see the return of some of our favorite dishes - the ettouffe, the jambalaya. However, the oysters were great, fish cooked perfectly and the Basque cheesecake were definitely worth it.

Service was excellent! Overall, the food was good, but not exceptional. Was hoping for something a bit more in terms of unique food offerings and flavors. My steak was good and very tender but not particularly flavorful, my husband's scallops were few in number and small in size for day boat scallops, plus they were salty. The parsnip dish was excellent, though, as were our salads. After dinner, my husband had a cup of coffee and the bottom of the cup was filled with coffee grinds. Glad we tried Oldestone, and we had a nice meal and lovely evening together, but will probably not return for some time unless they get a bit more inventive with the menu. We realize they want to set their own course vs. just repeating Marsha Brown's recipes, but they are just not there yet in terms of of offering a memorable food experience, in our estimation.

We had drinks at the down stairs bar and the vibe was great. There was a live saxophone player that was very entertaining. Our table was ready at our reserved time and the ambiance was amazing. The staff was amazing. The food was average. I had swordfish with curried chickpeas and i think farrow or some other similar grain. The fish was very fresh and delicate, the flavors were not developed to an impressive level and needed some salt. My husband had the scallops and said they were really bland. They were sitting on a red sauce which tasted like tomato sauce out of a can. We had a side of carrots which were not cooked enough , some were almost crunchy, the cream spinach was really bland and some salt helped. The scallop dish was $49 and there were three scallops, my swordfish was $58. At these prices I would expect outstanding flavors and they weren't there. What I observed about the people dinning around us was that almost every table had the filet with the loaded potato and onion rings. they were conveniently out of the 8oz $34 filet and only had the 12oz $48 filets available. It appears that the filet is what one should order when dining at Oldstone.

We always loved Marsha Brown so were excited to try the newly reopened Oldstone for our Christmas Eve dinner. Things started off wrong with the Cosmos we ordered “light on the cranberry”. They arrived with heavy cranberry and the waiter apologized saying their cranberry juice was very dark. The replacement drinks were still not light but we kept them. They tasted watered down and were a disappointment plus an upcharge for Tito’s! We had a 6:30 reservation but they were already out of shrimp cocktail. The prawns wrapped in bacon were tasty but expensive for 3. They did have shrimp in the raw bar menu which my husband ordered but they brought him the prawns with bacon which he doesn’t eat. That was returned for the raw bar shrimp at $12 each for large (not jumbo) shrimp. We asked for more butter for the bread that never came. We then asked for more bread and they said they were out of bread. Later 2 rolls showed up that they found. We ordered 2 of the special entrees-8 oz lobster tail and a 10 oz swordfish dish. My lobster consisted of a plate with a 4oz lobster tail cut in 2 halves. It was so overcooked you could not pull it out of its shell. No garnish or lemon. I returned it and the manager apologized and said it was their last one. I did not order another entree. My husband’s overpriced swordfish at $58 was ok but a little bland. We each ordered a glass of red wine which was served warm. The service was not very good. No one asked how the food was. No one came to see if we wanted another drink. They were very slow to take away our dishes. They did remove the lobster I returned and 2 cosmos from our bill. Overall a very disappointing experience.

As customers of the previous establishment we were happy to see it open and "reimagined" by the new owners. The service was excellent. Waitstaff perfect and charming. Food and beverages were excellent though no items from previous establishment on the menu. And best of all, we saw Adrian! He was our server of choice for many years and it made our visit perfect!

I have always wanted to try Marsha browns but was never able to get a reservation. When we heard about oldestone opening we decided to make one 8 weeks in advance to celebrate my 30th birthday. I was so excited to try their famous jambalaya however was very disappointed as I sat down and learned it was removed from the menu. We decided to stay and give it a try. The food was good and flavorful however would have preferred to go somewhere else for the expensive price tag to eat a meal I was not at that specific restaurant for. The restaurant did provide complimentary birthday donuts which was very kind however all five were severely undercooked, literally liquid batter inside, and we couldn't eat any of them.

The server,Mason, was sweet and very attentive. The bus boy was also phenomenal and made sure my water was always full.

I would not return due to the food being expensive for what it was and feeling as though the menu was not special.

Food was absolutely amazing and the decor inside of the old church is beautiful. Cocktails were great and the best part was our server Erica - she was super friendly, helpful, and gave the best recommendations to two visitors from out of town. I look forward to dining here again when I’m in the area!

Food and drinks were good but the menu is limited. I’d like to see more options, especially for entrees. They have no real specific specialty, food options are all over the place. They charged $4 for on the rocks, $4 for ice!!!

Birthday celebration for my wife. Service was very poor. Server didn't know the menu or the specifics of the food when asked. Drinks took 10-15 minutes to get even though the restaurant was emply (5:45pm sitting). Food was cold and wife ordered Day Boat Scallops for ~$30 and received three (3) scallops. My grouper was cool to the touch. The Chic Sui Chicken was not listed as 'dark meat' Wine was grossly overprices with a $25 bottle of wine in the store being sold for over $100.

Very disappointing and we will not be returning. We were thinking it would be equivilent to Marsha Browns, and it was anything but.

This place was so disappointing considering it was previously Marsha Brown's.
The menu options are tremendously limited and even with that finite a selection, the food we were served was mediocre at best. The Grouper, that my friends ordered, was a little chewy and the bone in cowboy ribeye I got, that was ordered medium rare, was overcooked on the outside and not as tender on the inside. Let me add that was a ribeye for $92. At that price point it should have melted in my mouth. Everything we ordered last night was overpriced and poorly cooked. Even the dessert was dry and flavorless. How do you provide such poorly prepared food when you've only been open for a short period of time?
The one thing that stood out was the service. Our server did a really fine job.
I will not go back to this place unless they replace the chef and possibly the management. Whoever these folks are, they clearly don't understand how to run a restaurant that was once a bastion of great food, service and fun.

What an AMAZING evening at Oldestone! This definitely is not Marsha Browns which is why they go by a different name. Once you realize that - these reviews are hysterical. Give this place a try especially if it’s a special occasion and you will not be disappointed. They go above and beyond to make the dining experience special.

First, I want to congratulate this establishment on the staff. From the hostess who also did coat check to the bartender, Steve, who was very welcoming and who also made a very good martini. Our next encounter was the Manager, sorry but I didn't get his name, let's just say that throughout the evening, this man was on top of things. Our waiter, James who is new to the area was professional.

Now for a few cons, we dined on a Sunday evening, because the restaurant was very busy on Friday and Saturday evening, there were several items that were not available, specifically they were completely out of Filets, that menu item was the main reason we selected this restaurant. Even with the limited selection, we managed to find a few items that worked for us, so overall the dinner was good, but I will say that some of the items on the menu have prices that are staggering.

I think the wine list is excellent, like the dinner menu, some items seem to be a bit pricy. I would still say the wine selection is very good.

Will we return, yes but not until after the holiday madness ends, maybe in January.

We were sad to hear that Marsha Brown’s had closed but pleased to hear it had reopened as the Oldestone Church keeping pretty much the same menu and iconic features like the marble M in the entryway and all the church historical features. As always dinner was exceptional as well as the staff. We were able to enjoy the new piano lounge upstairs in the balcony. Fabulous restaurant for date night or dinner with friends. Can’t wait to come back!

Our bartender was killer. Great martini worth the $20. Cool vibe and atmosphere. We have dined here when ur was MarshaBrowns. Very sad when it closed. Thrilled it has reopened as Oldstone. Our server Dan was top notch. Attentive, professional and a pleasure. We ordered the most expensive steak 🥩. Cooked perfect. Great presentation. Pricey. It was good. I’ve had better but not complaining. Brusselsprouts and sweet potato fries also good but I’ve had better. Again no complaints. Dessert was yummy but too small 🤪 We went upstairs after dinner to relax….. super cool up there. Small bar, live music cozy seating. Great after dinner atmosphere. We will be back.

We dined at the Oldestone for our anniversary. Overall, we were very pleased with our dining experience and appreciated not being rushed through our courses.

Our waiter, Jorge was knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive during our meal. Our food selections were delicious- lobster bisque, a generous red gem salad, both filets were cooked as requested with a flavorful side brussel sprouts (a must try!!). The meal was finished off with cappuccinos and a wonderful creme brûlée.

It's on the pricier side. The noise level is vibrant due to the open dining room and high vaulted ceiling.

We are locals and happy to see this unique restaurant setting come alive again.
