Service was really slow and some of our food was cold when we got it. Shout out to the staff who was running around like crazy, they were trying to keep up but must be short. Food was decent once we got it.
To be fair my previous 2 visits to Old Chicago were good- just very slow service. This time was a train wreck from the start. Chaos at check in, numerous patrons waiting, multiple confused employees trying or walking away from sorting it out. Likeable waitress at first, but returned after our salads to inform us she lost our order, needed to place again. No biggie, we were visiting, repeated the order. When our Calzones finally arrived the ingredients were mixed up between the two. When we saw our waitress again and explained she seemed annoyed with us! When the food finally arrived again, it still wasn’t right, but we decided to eat it anyhow. They were dry and overcooked, with no sauce inside them, but a side of sauce. Mine was tomato, though i ordered Alfredo. When we were almost done another server suddenly appeared and sat down a side of Alfredo sauce! We request refill on water multiple times and when it finally happened, she was obviously annoyed. I commented that she seemed to be getting run ragged, she said she was dealing with 8 tables. When we finally got the ticket they charged us for four calzones- when we got over the shock we realized they did take 2 off and comped us our side salads. So we tipped her well in spite of it all, but aren’t in a rush to go back.
Took forever to get food, made a reservation and seated immediately. Had our food about an hour later and it was cold
Terrible service from hostess. Acted like it was a bother to seat people .. waited 5 minutes at door.. then told seat ourselves. Then waited 5 minutes for menus .. waiting for food for 45 minutes... Wait for bill.etc etc
A little busy, but food was hot and fresh. Tasted amazing
The two salads were incorrect and had to be remade. The waiter was kind and efficient. It wasn’t James fault. When the new ones came, no avocado in my ch chicken, or bacon. Garlic cheese bread delicious. Going to cut you some slack as staffing is difficult. We’ll try again.
Ashlynn was a great server! Unfortunately the hosts who seated us did not confirm our open table by looking us up on the open table website. I went back after we finished dinner but they did nothing. Disappointing
Good food - good service !
Great experience , fast seating fast service and great atmosphere
Very short staffed... server was doing his best...40 min wait for water/drinks...over an hour for food.I don't think we will b back
Meal was great, food selection good. Service needs to be cleaned up. appetizer came to the table after the man in meal.
Just an OK place.
The deep dish pizza was good but it could use more sauce on it. Fried pickles were delicious!
We reserved a table with Open Table so we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. However the wait for food was over 30 minutes once we placed our order. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I can’t really fault them too much on the wait for our food due to this being a fairly new restaurant and the restaurant being almost at full capacity. We will go back after tourist season is over and hopefully not have to wait so long for our food.
Went for dinner, party of two, on vacation in South Dakota. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation, three employees at front desk. No one greeted us. We had reserved an outdoor table and outdoor patio was 80% empty, but they refused to set us until the exact time of our reservation. A teenage server was inexperienced and unfamiliar with the menu.
A Tuscan chicken pizza, came with a few pieces of chopped up fried chicken on top. Crust was extremely greasy.
High price for poor food and awful service.
Had to mark star to get to this point. They didnt honor our reservation again! Told us we would have to wait 20 or more minutes despite all the open high too tables. We wont be going back anytime soon. Dont bother using Open Table at Old Chicago.
15 min late on our reservation due to very untrained uninterested hostesses need their others back doing hostessing and lastnites doing takeout orders. Finally got seated me asking about our reservation twice finalky cleared table. Took over an hour to get our food waitress was great of course manager, don’t remember her name, blamed the kitchen and to many outside orders for food dash and others. We have been there several times before with better hostesses to begin with knowing what they wrre doing and someone on the floor managing kitchen and hostesses. Not to sure when or if we will go back
Took forever and they weren’t busy. Think they gave our food to someone else. Lasagna didn’t have hardly any cheese on it compared to other times I’ve ordered it. Every time we’ve gone, they’re out of quite a few items. Odd.
First time my food has been bad. Dry, cold pizza.
Fawna, our server, was very outgoing, energetic and very attentive. It was very good food.
Great new restaurant in the rapid city. Great for dates and hangouts.
Very slow and messed up one of the four entrees at our table. Took 20 minutes to get a single beer and then another 45 minutes to get our food.
Pizza was great!
Food was delicious. Our server Kelsey was awesome. We will be back.
Soda was flat, onion rings were cold, aujus was very salty. Cold slaw had no flavor.
My husband asked for less cheese on his lasagna which made the rest of us go without cheese on ours. :(. That’s the best part of the lasagna!!
This was our 2nd visit. The food and server were awesome. Our first visit we had Lacea and this time Rob. Super friendly and helpful. Old Chicago has thg he best pizza in Rapid City!!
It was great! Food a little overpriced but overall it was very tasty and the restaurant was gorgeous!
Server and team staff work made our lunch fantastic. Needless to say but the food was dynamite. Beer selection, knowledge and temp were on point. Thanks again.
Old Chicago was what I expected. My wife enjoyed her burger and my calzone was good, but the sauce was a mediocre tasting marinara that could have been better. The waitress was very good and attentive, the restaurants was very busy and the kitchen was backed up, but we did not have to wait too long for our meals. The atmosphere was sports pub like; TV’s everywhere with some form of game on and the music was a mix of rock and pop played at way too high a volume for comfortable conversation. So, not a bad choice for a meal if you are not looking to be dazzled.
The food was great, the waitress was great, and the beer was fantastic. Not much more needed to be said than that 👍.
We ended up right by the hostess station. It was loud and uncomfortable as the guests waiting were filled up. The waiter was great. Being a new restaurant and busy it was a good experience. In time it will get more efficient. Will be back.
We are thrilled to have OC in Rapid City, been waiting a long time.
I enjoyed the chicken pizza. I tried it with the Chicago thick crust at the suggestion of my server, Fawna. I’m glad I did! It was sooo delicious. With the spinach and hints of garlic. Yum!! Highly recommend that dish. The food comes out quick and the service was top-notch.
Brand new location, but very good service and excellent pizza.
It was the grand opening and yet they were fast and efficient. Server was very friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely will be going back again.
Very good first experience! I would definitely go again.
Awesome staff! Great food, something for everyone!
Enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to my next visit.
