Inspired by our Executive Chef Greg Nelson our exciting "New Florida" menu is a colorful, wonderful exploration of award-winning island foods and flavors. Sometimes passionate. Sometimes mild. Sometimes fun. Yet all, truly great to admire and greater to enjoy — from appetizers, through entrees, to desserts.

Despite the disaster suffered by Ian the experience was nice. They restaurant looks great and the staff were very good. The noise level was up there. The food overall was delicious. My husband had the duck and it was overcooked. It was a pleasant experience besides that.

We had the short ribs, cioppino, and lamb chops - all were excellent. Paige was a delight - excellent server with a great personality. We’re so happy to see Tween Waters doing well & the Old Captiva House thriving - a real gem!

the hostess that greeted us was rude and couldnt be bothered to greet us. We waited 20 minutes at our table to be greeted by our server. She was NOT attentive. our order included 2 very expensive filets that were half eaten before she check on the status of our food. To add insult to the injury, she double charged us for bottled water. very disappointing experience. Will NOT go back.

Lunch menu is OK, not gourmet, but certainly a step up from the poolside bar, which is also really OK as far as poolside bars go. In the end, we come for the beautiful location and not necessarily the food. However, the management and staff should be very highly complimented, they work hard in difficult post-Hurricane times, and all difficult circumstances considered, all are doing a wonderful job to make feel guests special. I can’t wait to get back for diner, which has also a small, but defined menu.

So wonderful to have the treat of dining at Captiva House. Its recovery after Hurricane Ian is nothing short of miraculous. The setting is lovely. Tables are far apart so conversation is east. Food was fantastic (really!!). And our server (Lynn) was the BEST. Favorite place on the island.

Ate here two nights in a row and both meals were good. The blackened fish special was actually breaded and fried though, and the grilled tomato caprese salad was good but the tomatoes were not grilled; both dishes were good but not as described. The Cabernet on the wine list said it was Italian which we thought was weird, but we got it and it’s actually Californian. No big deal but they might want to fix that because a wine snob might get on them for it. Everything else was great! Get the banana bread pudding! Soooo delicious!

Celebrating two special birthdays. We had the best evening. Had a nice paced dinner. Enjoyed their great selections of drinks Then the best wedge salad and crab bisque. We then ate dinner and even squeezed in room for 2 desserts although we needed to go boxes. All in time to step outside and see the amazing sunset. We will definitely be back again!

Our party of 5 all enjoyed our meal - the Grouper, Sea Bass and Red Snapper dishes were very tasty and the atmosphere and decor was perfect as well. We had a 6:45 p.m. reservation and arrived 20 minutes early to enjoy a gorgeous sunset at the beach across the street. We will return!

Not as good as usual. Three of us had the duck and they were all over cooked. We had reservations and got a table right next to the bar and had people standing behind us. There where better tables available but it seems like we got the walk in table. We are locals and only have a handful of restaurants available to us because of the hurricane so it was really a let down which is sad because Captiva House is one of my favorites.

The cioppino is excellent. Some other entrees are a bit bland, although well-cooked and presented. The service is excellent, but some bussers are quite enthusiastic about clearing plates before dining has finished. If you’re fortunate enough to arrive before sunset, be sure to ask for a table with a view. Captiva sunsets are exceptionally beautiful.

Had the Duck there before, which was great, crispy skinned and perfectly cooked. This time the skin was flabby, smothered in sauce, and arrived not hot. The restaurant had a wedding party that night, perhaps they were taking shortcuts, but it was a great disappointment as it was my birthday. They did not offer a complementary birthday desert.
