Old Captiva House
Our entrees were excellent. I had the prawns with risotto and my husband had the prawns with pasta. They also serve an oil herb infused dipping sauce for the bread which was outstanding! The only food item I felt was below par was the arugula salad. The arugula and Belgian endive was not fresh. Service was excellent.
Extraordinary service, fantastic menu, brilliantly presented!
Dinner was excellent. They accommodate a gluten and dairy free diet from well.
The veal and lamb chop were incredible. Best I ever had. Skip the Lobster Risotto as it is very bland and not worthy. The wedge Salad also had a strange dressing, they should rethink that one. Overall great experience
Delicious food, clean taste. Not laden with heavy sauces.
The ambiance, food, wine and service were all excellent.
Beautiful, Classic, romantic, the food was exquisite!!! The service was first class. Would go again for sure!!!
Greg is an amazing chef :) the food and service was outstanding. The lobster risotto was to die for..
Everything was perfect. We had the filet and the Jumbo shrimp and lobster risotto. There was more lobster than you would expect in a
Lobster dinner. And the filet was one of the best we ever had. The chef came by every table to check on every ones meal.We will definitely return on our next trip to Captiva.
We have been coming to Sanibel for years. The Captiva House used to be a favorite of my parents and our family. It fell off of the radar for us 5 or so years ago. My husband and I read several reviews that seemed
very complimentary. The menu looked very good, so we decided to give it a try. We learned the night we went that the restaurant had recently been renovated. It is just lovely. White and aqua and very cheery. Views of the water, etc. Our food was great. Lobster tails blackened excellent. Our waiter was awesome. Friendly, efficient. I highly recommend trying it. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent food and service!
My wife sand I have been there many times before and are always very pleased with the quality of food and service. We are looking forward to our next visit
My wife and I had a dinner reservation there for one night, but liked the food and atmosphere so much we booked it again the second night. Great both times.
The Old Captiva House is the best new - old restaurant on the island of Captiva. While they call themselves new we have been eating at this restaurant for many years and have always had a great experience. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere is how I would describe the restaurant. Very quiet and now very bright with their new look. The new menu offers a great selection of land and sea food but our favorite thing was the Baked Lobster Risotto. This item is a must starter and should be an entree. The Ahi Tuna was very different than expected and the wasabi mashed potato was the most unusual flavor have ever experienced.
Over all we really enjoyed the Old Captiva House and will be making it a regular stop when we are on the island.
We loved it! Shenelle & Rahiem were great servers. Jasmine, Nadine & Irina we’re friendly & hospitable. We enjoyed talking with them. The food was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
Quaint setting. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was fresh and delicious. We will go back again during our next visit to Captiva.
One of the best places on Captiva
Food was outstanding, as was the service. The updates to the restaurant really stand out. Can not wait to come back.
Best meal had on our recent visit to Captiva. The remodel of the Old Captiva House came spectacularly. Great food, great service, wonderful restoration, and a renown chef. Thank You!
We've been coming to Captiva for years and have always enjoyed the Old Captiva House but the last few years they were closed due to a special event and for rennovation. This time didn't disappoint! The service was impeccable as always and the food was excellent. We started with the Charcuterie Plate which was a great starter. My daughter enjoyed her Filet and my wife really liked the Jumbo Prawn Pasta. The Grouper was the highlight meal of my week - cooked to perfection with excellent sides.
Stayed at tween waters for our Anniversary. We ate at old Captiva house for breakfast and dinner. Food and service were top notch
Outstanding service and food from appetizers to desert! Excellent portions and presentation. Very unique and definitely a mainstay for our future trips to Captiva.
We had a wonderful experience. We were not sure what to expect, but ended up pleasantly surprised with not just the great service we received, but the quality and sophistication of the food. There were only a few tables filled by the time we got there. The folks walking to other restaurants in the area missed out. We will be back again
We have celebrated father’s day here for about 4-5 years. It has always been very nice. The remodel looks wonderful. The sunsets are a real treat and the food is good.
All delicious, all beautiful. Professional service. Possibly now the best restaurant on Sanibel-Captiva.
Old Captiva house is beautiful inside. Then it went down hill. We requested window seat didn’t get it. I ordered the Blue crab bisque. It was lukewarm. They pour hot bisque over cold out of fridge crabmeat which instantly cools down the bisque.
Our whole experience was wonderful. A group of 6, we had dinner and breakfast there. Will be back.
First timer. Great atmosphere and food. Watched the sunset from my table.
Chef Greg and the Old Captiva House team have created a home run. Wonderful, inventive menu, beautiful setting and warm service. So great to see OCH open again.
Hidden gem in the Tween Waters Inn resort. Excellent food, great service and very attractive ambiance.
Excellent Eggs Benedict. Hollandaise sauce was outstanding!,Home fries were great and a sweet bowl of assorted fruits. Our server Shernell was great.
Lobster Benedict was outstanding. Hollandaise was awesome. Got a bowl of fruit and it was all wonderfully sweet.Only problem was it was hard finding the waitress sometimes. Would definitey go back for breakfast
Simply fabulous duck out of this world. Scallops fantastic. We will be back. Miss the gift shop
I couldn’t wait to go see the remodeled Old Captiva House and we couldn’t have been more pleased. It is LOVELY!! The food and ambiance was excellent and the service was good as well.
This is now one of my new go to’s for a night out when we have a babysitter.
The restaurant was beautiful inside. Very nice island decor. The service was good but very slow(island time). The food was slightly above average however a lot of the dishes came out much to salty. I would say that it is a great experience but not quite up to par for the money.
Impeccable redesign of an Old School Captiva staple. Fresh well executed seafood with outstanding service. Prices surprisingly low for “island fare “. No better upscale restaurant on Sanibel/Captiva. We have been regulars for over 30years and were really impressed. Run...don’t walk to dine here.
Excellent service, quality good and wine! Thank you for the choice between small and large plates!
We celebrated our anniversary at the Inn. Old Captiva House was great as we have become accustomed to expect.
