Food is always delicious and servers are always prompt and friendly. We had the sliders and bbq pizza. Both were very tasty. Quality food at a great price. We’ve been many times and really enjoy talking to the friendly servers.

We loved our waiter from Hungary! He made our experience so wonderful! We were meeting friends we had not seen in 6 years and he was so patient with us talking instead of ordering. We had flights of yummy beer and the fried BLT, Brussel sprout salad and grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious. I am having dreams about the crunchy fries. They are delicious!

Enjoy the family friendly setting. Wine is good, beer is mediocre. There were 7 of us for Mother’s Day brunch. Service was slow and fish was dry (probably thawed before cooking). They don’t have enough staff but that’s typical in the Hill Country.

This is simply a review of their mother's day experience. Bottom Line Up Front: For the price provided, this mother's day service was not worth the value. We booked this event because every year we do a mother's day brunch. Usually its a full spread buffet at a local winery somewhere in the hill country. However, this time we decided to try Old 290's mother's day event with a set 3 course meal. Ok, no problem, we will try it. What we didn't realize was HOW SET it truly was, there were zero options, not even for allergies. First, the problem with the announcement is that it didn't even list the menu. We had no idea what was on the menu until we showed up. The first course was a shrimp cocktail which 1/2 our group couldn't eat due to allergy. We asked if they had a non-shell fish option and were told no. I was stunned. Everyone has some regard for allergies, not Old 290. The second dish was either a chicken or a fish. Fine, to have at least some options here but they were very limited. For $70 a plate I would have expected better entrees. These were very bland. The last course was a simple chocolate musse, nothing exciting. To top it off, the AC was on full blast, it was uncomfortably cold. I am usually not a complainer but our party literally took turns going outside to warm up. The waitress also left much to be desired, we hardly saw her. The outside was cool, the kiddos played, and we bought a bottle of wine. However, everything else was not worth the price or the drive.

The manager Marshall and waiter Adam went above and beyond to make our dining a fantastic experience. The food was also excellent and we will definitely be making the trip again to stay at the resort and enjoy the restaurant. The entire staff at Carter Creek Resort and Spa were amazing as well.

Food and service was excellent. We chose to eat outside because instead is in serious need of refurbish, total remodeling. It smells musty , is dark and dank, certainly no place that we would enter to eat.
