   The food at OKims was delicious. The seafood pancake was hearty and the best we’ve had. The fish and chips was interesting to look at first glance however don’t let the appearance fool you. The squid ink batter had a light crunchy texture and the puffed rice cake was a guilty pleasure. I’m not much for tartar sauce but the sauce there had a nice balance. I ordered the hot stone pot bibimbap and I was pleasantly satisfied. It was full of authentic savory ban chan. The ratio to protein, rice and ban chan was well balanced. My son loved the cheesy tonkatsu. If you like cheese this is not to be bypassed. My husband had the bibimbap with spicy chicken. The chicken was flavorful, moist and a hearty portion. The ban chan was a perfect accompaniment and it had the appropriate amount of rice. We were so full from our appetizers and main dishes that we didn’t have the pleasure of tasting their dessert menu. The ambience gave a vibe of old school Chinatown. We sat out in the back and we were seated in a gazebo. It is a laid back atmosphere. Be prepared to wear stretchy pants because you will leave OKims with a full belly.

   This place had good Korean food with some innovative spins. SHowever, there are garbage dumpsters lining the outdoor dining area. It’s unsanitary.

   One of the best dining experiences and we go out a couple of times a week. Told my family and friends about it and I rarely do that. Food was flavorful with amazing texture. And very reasonable. Will definitely eat there again.

   Was an unpleasant Christmas Eve dinner 2022. Don’t go unless the management really care and clean up. Ambience- We were seated on patio next to a rubbish bin and old dishes (see photos). On top of this, the staff were busy cleaning and washing the pots and pans … 5 feet from us. Service - we wished our server was kinder and more patient.. we were referring to dishes’ photos on Open Table and asking her what were their names on the menu.. she was replying loud and showed signs of impatience ..harsh basically ( we were there at 845pm and restaurant was not crowded) Food- it was fusion but not quite Korean non American …it was not distinctive in taste. Not quite Korean

   The food, service and ambiance was amazing! We took a few first timers and they were so impressed and we all can't wait to go back. Our favorites were the mandoo, Kalbi steak, pork belly and the stonepot bibimbap. We also highly recommend the elote corn dessert!

    We were seated right away, out back, which is actually kinda nice. Our waiter was on point and attentive. The menu was varied and had quite a number of items that were really interesting--will def try them on our next visit. The food was presented very well and the flavors all worked together. I was completely satisfied and am looking forward to returning in the near future to sample more of the menu. Overall, O'Kims is a flavorful and incredible value for dine-in or Take-out. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

    What is not to love?! The presentation is beautiful, the food is creative & delicious, the service is attentive and you do not feel rushed...the setting has that downtown, Chinatown cool, chill vibe. Love this place.

    Food was tasty but i expected better menu selection…. Sat in side room which was kind of dreary. Then i saw outdoor seating area that was preferred seating area. Would not go back or recommend due to food pricing and ambiance, overall cleanliness

    I love this place, kind of a hole in the wall, with a back patio; they also do a lot of take-out. The folks who run the place are always so kind, the food is delicious, unique, the kind of fusion that can take place in Honolulu. This is not a fancy place…but the food rates highly

    The food was amazing, super friendly staff, excellent service and they gave us a complementary cheesecake for our friend’s birthday. We sat outside in the cute courtyard. It was the perfect spot for a ladies gathering.

    The food is amazing! We tried a couple apps and the November specials and we were not disappointed. It was a busy Saturday night and unfortunately we weren’t able to be seated in back, which made it feel busier with the hustle and bustle of take out orders and people checking in for their reservation. But it made for good people watching. We felt bad because we had to rush out at the end to make our show at the Hawaii theatre but everyone was so gracious and the food was amazing! The drinks, the apps, the entrees were so good and the elote ice cream tied it all together at the end. We will be dreaming of the crispiest rice from our stone bibimbap until we make it back there! Mahalo!

    I love this place. This was our first visit and what a wonderful surprise. We sat in the outdoor area in the back. Ambience nice and cozy and the food was superb. I had the seaweed salmon and side order of miso eggplant. My husband had the bibimbap with spicy chicken.

    Everything was delicious! Our party tried the yuzu lemonade, abalone escargot, spicy chicken bibimbap and nori salmon. Definitely will return again. Great service from arrival.

    Sorry but, the construction and visible rubbish and noisy radio and long wait took away from the overall experience. Possibly short staffed. Our servers did did their best but in the end I wish I would have chosen a different spot for a first date. Food was tasty.

    We did a 6:15 pm reservation on a Saturday night. Got there on time and got a nice table for four in the back. We were a couple, and shared an appetizer of Truffle Mandoo filled with mushrooms, excellent! Both of our entrees came with green salads...we liked the one with the lemon dressing the best. We enjoyed Mahimahi Seafood Chowder with potatoes and gnocchi, and Miso Pork Belly with Purple rice. Both entrees were excellent! The lemon ice tee with unlimited free refills was flavorful and refreshing! We were too full for dessert, but the offerings sounded good! Service was friendly and timely, and we were able to finish in time to make a 7:30 pm show featuring ghost stories by Jeff Gere across the street!

    The ambience may be humble, but you will receive inventive, flavorful food here that is better than many top tier "fusion" restaurants in Hawaii at a fraction of the price. Bravo to the chef!

    The food is always good here. Fresh and amazing ingredients. The over $30-price for the meat jun plate was a little crazy, and we had a hair in one of our dishes, so that was gross. I hate being one to complain and OʻKims is a really good spot, but there is no excuse for hair in my food. Keep things clean in your kitchen, please.
