The food is terrible here! Expect cheap fries that you’d get at McDonalds with the kind of cheese you’d get at a hockey game on nachos for “The Stack” on their menu. My husband’s burger barely had any condiments on it. The drinks are overpriced and underrated. I ordered the margarita and it looked unappetizing and unappealing. You don’t even get the typical salted or sugared rim. The only good thing about Offshore is the view is great! Sadly I won’t be back.
Absolutely loved it! The fireworks were so fun to watch from the patio! Would recommend to anyone visiting or going out for a fun date night!
nice eloquent balcony setting with an amazing fireworks display in the evening
Left great seats open lame concierge
A very good place to gather up with your friend and have a couple of drinks and maybe a pizza or wings :)
Great first date experience my date loved the ambiance.
Three of us had lunch and cocktailsThe ambience was wonderful. The place has simple, stylish decor and was open and airy. The watermelon margaritas which were suggested by our server Daniel were refreshing. Two in our party had the hot chicken sandwich which unfortunately had too much breading and not enough chicken. However, my poke bowl was excellent.
Amazing as always
Great vibe and music and the waitress was very professional
Great views but it feels a little too massive and impersonal-- runners take you to the table, waiters with identical blue shirts like at Disney World, etc. Wine list is average--typical $12 glasses but for pretty downmarket wines. We ordered crab cake salad and avocado hummus--all very good. Four glasses of wine + two appies = $100. Want a little more "special" for those prices. But views of Lake Michigan win every time.
The place is beautiful, but we made reservations for our anniversary for outdoor seating a week in advance and was only offered a high top table in the bar. until we asked for a manager. Then a table was found. Hostess just seemed matter of fact, said don't have anything available. Our waitress, same, little affect, not very welcoming for your beautiful place. We live in the near suburbs, but are familiar with the city. A little TLC needed, especially that they mentioned our anniversary a few times. Thanks for listening. Joe and Rita Perri
The cocktails were amazing and the food was very very good.
Service was also exceptional and you can’t beat the view of the lake.
The menu was only a few items to choose from no seasoning on food at all, the waiter mad the best of the situation. Nice atmosphere tho!
The food wasn’t great and the service was
mediocre. However, it had amazing views.
Great location for a bar. Limited menu for food. On a hot day you need shade. We sat in the sun for 45 minutes before we asked for another table. Music from below was loud. Drinks were good.
Too much sunlight not enough shaded areas too hot on inside. No way to call restaurant for special requests or lost items. They only have a recording.
Ambiance is Amazing! Service was slow but i understand being short staffed due to the pandemic. One of my favorite spots in Chicago.
Bugs in food water drinks. Service was incredibly slow. We had reservations yet we were asked to be seated in the waiting area until our table was ready for us which was 25 min past our reservation time
Overall it was good. It seems like a great atmosphere however service was slow, partly because the kitchen is so far away from dining area.
Food wasn’t great, but I loved the ambience
I was looking for a Rooftop experience that my my boyfriend and I could enjoy along with our teenager daughter. This place met our expectations for us and her, we all had a great time. The views are also breathtaking! Be advised that there are a lot of little bugs, but it's inevitable since it is outside. That, however, did not stop me from having fun and enjoying everything, from food to drinks. I highly recommend this place.
Most of our waiters and servers were not wearing masks, didn’t ask about our comfort level with them not masking and didn’t attempt to social distance.
For the expensive cocktails, it was disappointing that they didn’t use real fruit, like real grapefruit juice in the Paloma.
Had reservations. Had requested outside table. We were offered an inside table (where it was too hot and not air conditioned) or outside leather cocktail seats, in the hot sun, with only two side tables. Not really conducive to brunch. Manager couldn’t have cared less. Service- very slow and inattentive. Had to ask for cutlery, napkins, and to order our main meals after getting a shareable. The views are outstanding but the environment was uncomfortably hot (it was only 80 degrees outside), service terrible, and food average. Way too expensive for all that.
Love this place.. definitely will go again!! Everything was perfect
The food came out fast..but was cold. Sent it back and it came back out nice and hot. Took some time for the server to come over to take our order as it was a little busy. But, overall it was a pleasant and beautiful day.
It was clear that they do not have enough help for the amount of crowds that are there. It was wayyyyy too loud as a band was playing right below. The noise of conflicting music was jarring.
The view for the fireworks is great but DO NOT spend the money to get a seat as all the people rush over to the balcony and stand in front of you. They need to have more control over this.
Very slow service
This was an beautiful spot for brunch, some tables but mostly stuffed chairs and coffee tables, very comfortable. The service was so good! Our waitress was excellent. I would recommend this spot again. Just know it’s a long walk on the pier if the parking is full.
Terrible service, terrible drinks and there was not even a good view.
Our server took 30 minutes to come to all 3 groups in our zone. She complained about lack of bar backs since one of them “hurt their back.”
We ordered 2 of their signature drinks and then a little bit later 2 servers tried to hand us what looked like well drinks. We asked what they were and realized they were for a different table.
Finally once we got our drinks they were absolutely awful and for $16 a drink? Chicago isn’t NYC or LA; $16 drinks are not acceptable here even at the nicest of places. You could drink at the signature room on the 96th floor of the Hancock for cheaper than that. You could drink at the nicest bars in River North for $13/$14 a drink.
Lastly, we were seated in the corner with only an lake view. That’s fine but it’s exactly the same view as I can have on the bottom of Navy Pier.
Live a few blocks from the bar so I figured I’d check it out. Stay away, like everything at Navy Pier it’s just another half assed tourist trap.
The waitress was just not servicing us. Each time I had to hail her down and get her attention when we needed something.
The food is subpar. It’s on level with an Applebee’s or tgifridays, even the fries are not good.
The best thing to do here his get drinks and enjoy the view. Done elsewhere
Terrible service, food was ok but not wow, pricy.
Service was not great
Overall it was a good experience. Would definitely recommend to friends.
Manager slammed door into next table twice almost knocking down drinks of them but overall good food good environment
Waitress was good but she had too many tables. Food took 40 min and drinks took longer. Beautiful view!
Great place for some weekend fun in Chicago!! A+++ experience
We had a reservation for six and we were given the option of an indoor or outdoor table. We elected outdoors and we’re taken to a couch like seating areas with two small tables to share. We were planning on eating lunch, so requested to be seated at a more traditional table to have room for our food.
We relocated inside. We don’t know if the staff were annoyed by our changing tables or were overwhelmed by the volume (although it did not seem that busy), but our service was subpar. It took 20 minutes to order drinks and then another 20 minutes to get them. We ordered an appetizer to share and were not given plates or utensils until we asked for them.
We had to wave down our server to order our meals and when one of party asked the waiter who brought the food for another drink, he was told that he couldn’t place drink orders. We had to ask twice for our server to get her back to order the drink.
Overall, the food was okay, the atmosphere was cool, but our experience with the service has really cooled us off from coming back.
The staff was very rude to us, not sure what we did to upset them, but they told us we could not eat on the balcony. I had made the reservation two weeks in advance and they failed to let us know we could not go out on the balcony for food. We later saw people eating food so they had lied. The wait staff was also rude when we had asked for separate checks and he said “well, I’ll hate you if you do ask for separate checks.” They had also gotten our orders wrong as well. It felt very unprofessional and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking to eat here. Very upset 0/10.
View was nice a bit obstructed. Food was good. The portion size was noted and appreciated. Service could be a bit more available but we were happy to be left alone for most of the time. It was beautiful and we had a good time.
I would recommend Offshore rooftop & bar to a friend
Great location. The menu needs work
