I had penne bolognese (gluten free), I asked if their meat balls are gluten free and our server said yes. However, after a couple of bites, my stomach started to hurt so bad and I couldn’t eat anymore. It was. Bad experience for me this time. Sorry!

My first three times at Officine Buona Forchetta were very good, but my meal last night was very mediocre. First, there's no more Happy Hour, which I previously really enjoyed. I had checked the website, and the hours were still posted so I was surprised when the waiter said that Happy Hour had been discontinued. We ordered burrata and calamari for appetizers. They were both yummy. I ordered the ravioli of the day, which contained shrimp and crab. The dish tasted fishy, and I actually wondered if the ingredients might be old. The ravioli were served in a spicy tomato sauce that was good, but still didn't mask the fishiness. I ate a few, but not even half, and I brought the rest home in a box (which is sitting in my fridge). My daughter ordered spaghetti with cacio e pepe. She's spent a great deal of time in Italy, and she said the dish is easy to make. I'm sad to say this dish was actually bad. I ate a few bites, and I found it barely palatable. I'm not sure why my other dining experiences were so good, and this one was so bad, but I won't be dining here again. It was not inexpensive, and I just don't think the food was worth the money. I thought to myself that I would've enjoyed frozen Marie Callander's pasta more. I'm sorry, Officine. I hate to be so harsh. But our party of 4 spent $205 (including 4 glasses of your less expensive wine), and we all left disappointed. The food in the Liberty Station Public Market is better.

We had been here 2 other times and had wonderful experiences, but this time it was not what we were used to. We went for our anniversary, and noted it in the reservation comments, but there was not a single mention of it throughout the night. To start out we had a fly in our olive oil container. Then we had to ask twice to get the focaccia, and when it came out it wasn’t as good as the previous times. It seemed to be overcooked. I had ordered a meatball on pasta which is an additional $4. I was expecting a large meatball similar to Felipi’s, Pomas and other Italian places we go to, but this one was relatively small given the hefty price addition. It was a very sub par experience.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant. We were seated right away but it took awhile for our waitress to come to our table and take our drink order. We received our drinks and then waited approximately 15 minutes before the waitress came back to take our food order. After the waitress took our order she went to the table right beside ours and petted a dog, then without washing her hands she served glasses of water to another table. When our pizza arrived it was soggy in the middle, very difficult to cut and extremely chewy. They served the pizza on a plastic plate which we thought was a little odd. My wife and I would definitely not recommend this restaurant for a pizza.

Arrived with pur group of 8 & service started great! We were seated outdoors behind d the restaurant which is quiet but no real decor. Salad arrived & 2 minutes later our main dishes arriced. Plates everywhere. Poor timing on the dishes. 3 of us ordered a pasta special with scaccia & truffle... no truffle taste at all & saccia was bland. No one was excited about their dish in our group. It was mediocre at best. All in all I suggest sticking to the pizza for I got one to go (the nicola) and it was delicious and lovely truffle taste too.

Everything would have been much better had the staff had the ability to deal with an excessively loud party that disrupted the rest of the outdoor diners. Unfortunately they didn't. So it was acceptable. Pizza flavor was excellent, but middle was soggy to the point of being waterlogged. They might consider an absorbent plate liner for these or something. Food value is vey good. Portions are good. We will go back and hope for a bit better experience.

Why even ask about special occasions when accepting reservations? We mentioned it was our anniversary on Open Table but the staff at this restaurant didn’t acknowledge it in any way and seated us next to a dirty, smelly outdoor bussing area. How romantic.

Food is fantastic. Best pasta around. Good drinks. Servers seemed disinterested in us from the start. Sat us directly in the sun with no offer to get umbrella or another table. I got up to ask for another table. The walkway was very loud and couldn’t hear each other at a small table. Waitress couldn’t hear us and we couldn’t hear her, but she seemed not interested in trying to understand. Didn’t ever ask us if we wanted bread, and never came back after the order. Server with food got us bread, but seemed unaware that we would want olive oil and vinegar. Asked another person to bring that.

Our server was really good and was very helpful with the wine selection. The sottoterra salad, artichokes, and pizzas were really good, but I'd avoid the brussel sprouts (a bit mushy). Not impressed with the desserts either: cheesecake and the cannoli. Overall, a nice evening.

Very noisy out back. The music was way too loud borderline obnoxious. Walking through the inside, the place looked very messy and unorganized. Food was way too heavy. The Buena Forchetta sauce was just swimming in a heave cream/cheese sauce. Lasagna was good. Spinach salad was meager but tasty. Probably won’t be back which is too bad as we are neighbors.

Food is always delicious and the service good. The tables on the front patio for 2 are a bit small for an app., two entries, and bottle of wine but otherwise always a great meal. My wife ordered the Vito pizza, I had the vegetarian lasagna, and we shared the Eggplant app. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, now taking reservations, it is a must. Liberty station has a great mellow vibe and is a nice a walk before or after the meal. Cheers!
