Ocho at Hotel Havana
Friday & Saturday: 7:00am - 12:00am
Saturday & Sunday Brunch: 7:00am - 1:00pm
Honestly, it was very good, just a little over priced and they played really horrible music towards the end of our dinner.
Great food as well as service
This restaurant has an inimitable style that we loved. Very interesting and elegant glass porch off of the back of the Havana Hotel. The food was excellent. The waiter, while very polished and polite, was actually not as knowledgeable as he should have been, but it was still a great experience.
This place reminded me of a fancy sun room. Very small sunbeatten room with very small tables. Definitely not worth the drive
Terrific creative fresh food. Professional and friendly service. A beautiful atmosphere overlooking the river.
The food was fantastic! I had the Havana Hippie and it was full of flavor. The Havana margarita was tasty as well.
Happy hour was great. Drinks were very good as were the appetizers and for a great price. Not as happy with the food at dinner. Will continue to go for happy hour and skip dinner
Server Josh did a great job taking care of our group. Great atmosphere.
Excellent service and an insanely lovely atmosphere! Awesome for a ladies brunch. Coffee was good and came with a cute brown sugar cube. Omelet was better than the desert we got, but the pancakes were really good as well. Definitely worth a visit!
Very small spot. Chair aren’t very comfortable. However, the food more than made up for that. We enjoyed it very much, and will definitely go back.
Cubano sandwhich was dry, sloppy, not worth trying. Spaghetti squash plate at $18-19 was smaller than a handful of squash. Small plates were most interesting yet not worth returning for. Loud large crowd of drinkers next to us made it more of a bar than place to dine before performance at Tobin Center
Service on a Saturday night was busy and the food wait was close to an hour. Ordered drinks and didn’t get them till a half and hour later. Ordered tostones but came back and told us they ran out of them. I ordered their salmon and the salsa was not enough for the dish, it was literally just one mouthful. The dish was not balanced at all! Waiter was too quiet, I couldn’t even hear him, you know there’s live music playing outside so you gotta speak up. The ambiance is great however service lacked. The food was mediocre at best.
bartender could not make a mojito after 2 unsuccessful attempts & food was mediocre; chips and salsa were cold & oysters were good but dry - could’ve used more sauce.
The perdón In Charge día no respect the Open Table’s reservation
This place was beautiful, and the food and coffee was very good!! Got the avocado, bacon, and cheese omelet and a cappuccino. Would love to go back and get something more authentic to the cuisine!
Loved it. AC was not working, otherwise it was perfect.
Excellent food, well prepared and presented.
Not pretentious and delectable
Food is always delicious, service is quick, the drinks are either okay or excellent depending on the bartender. Love the ambiance. Great place to go before a concert at Tobin Center.
Ocho is THE go to place prior to any Tobin Center concerts!!!! The atmosphere is great; food decent and good cold beer! Great jumping off point for a night at the Tobin Center!
Ocho is one of our favs on the Riverwalk...away from the crowds with a unique menu featuring both tapas and regular entrees. The trout is the best as are the papas bravas and the empanadas.
Food was wonderful and by far Peach made the best craft cocktails.
Unfortunately our waiter was more concerned with talking to the other waiters , grooming himself, and flirting with the bartenders , instead of being attentive to his tables . We waited for our drinks for thirty minutes and after prompting a reminder , our cocktails were brought to us . Food was average - small portions . Ambience was disappointing - not as nice as anticipated . Overall it was the biggest let down I’ve had in a long time and I would not recommend it to a friend .
Great food, fantastic environment, and good service. I’d definitely recommend Ocho.
Overall nice place. It appears to be some type of nice fine dining place but it’s not really. It’s nice but not fine dining. I think it’s more of the history and location. Food was pretty good just a little greasy and it was delivered to us fast. Drink was good. Very small place also. I don’t think I would go back unless someone invited me.
The food was excellent ! It was our first time their it was difficult to find out how to enter the restaurant from the outside. When we got there to the patio, we saw a employee on the found and saw us going to the wrong entrance and didn't stop us from going to the wrong entrance. Then we walk in to Ocho door, they only had one server and he looked busy. We walk to the bar to get some help and no one is in the bar. When a employee comes to the bar , I had to ask him for help . I told him we had made reservations and his respond was you need to talk to "" which was the waiter that was serving others. My guests and I felt very unwelcomed and they seemed not to care for our business. When the waiter comes to us , he did try his best to sea us, but then he told us that he needed to find out who our server would be. They all seemed annoyed by our business. .Luckily the food was great.
An excellent restaurant with top quality food and a great atmosphere. We were dissapointed that they had no Cuban food as we assumed they would because of the name.
My fiancé and I are frequent diners at Ocho. As a vegetarian, I enjoy the veggie friendly options on the menu. We love the ambiance and always have a great time. However, this time was made less enjoyable due to the service. Our waiter was rarely around. Our glasses were constantly empty and the waiter was no where to be found. When he was at the table, his attitude and remarks were short and unfriendly. It was awkward. We will likely continue to be frequent patrons, but we were both disappointed with our experience.
The staff at Ocho always goes above and beyond! Thanks for being fabulous all around and one of our favorite places in the city!
Staff was very attentive. All our food - appetizers, drinks and entrees were excellent. Great location as well. And the bar downstairs was a hoot!
It was blazing hot in there. They put us right in the sun and we melted. Trout and Cuban sandwich was great. Salsa watered down.
Hands down one of the best salmon dishes i have ever have. The caldo was spot on as well. My only complaint was getting the attention of the waiter. However the good and ambience more then made up for it. Love love love!!!
We were celebrating but they didn’t do anything special or offer. I would have paid but the server didn’t even ask
We went to "Ocho" on May 17, 2018, at 6pm. We have eaten here two or three times previously before an event at the Tobin Center. We ordered some chips with guacamole and salsa to start, and our dinners with salads. I told the waitressI have a diary allergy, so please no cheese or butter, etc.. The guacamole came with cheese on it and so did my salad. I had asked about the fingerling potatoes (in butter sauce) that came with my chicken, the waitress said she'd tell them to leave that off. When my dinner plate arrived and my potatoes had sauce all over them. I had to be careful eating the chicken, as sauce was on it and I ate in the middle of it. I feel sending things back is never a good idea at a restuarant.
For dessert we ordered a fruit plate, trying to keep things simple. A little later a busser was carrying around a fruit plate and he tried to give it to one table across from us and they told him it wasn't theirs, so he set it down at a table next to that, still across from us, that had about 7 women at it from a "Bride Tribe" and they started digging right in (with their bare fingers I will add). We suspected it was in error and that it had actually been OUR fruit plate (ordered without chili dusting). Our waitress came by, noticed that the fruit was at the other table, picked it up and brought it to us!! OMG. We told her NO! That the other table had been eating from it with their fingers! When the "new" fruit plate and it looked identical to the one she had hauled away. I mean the watermelon was sort of wilted looking, stacked the same, etc. She also hadn't left me any utensils. We were very concerned about the way this had all gone down and when the waitress finally did come back my husband told her that it would have been better to leave the fruit with the first table that had eaten off of it and just get us a new one - or at least throw away the original one in front of us, as now things were suspect. We did pay for it, but we didn't eat it.
Great ambiance and pretty good food
Poor service .... expect to to have your order taken and Food delivered but otherwise completely ignored.
Good food. Nice place. I really liked my Cuban sandwich. My wife enjoyed the trout. Our server said those are her two favorite dishes. It was pretty crowded with concert goers so a little noisier than usual that night and a little crowded but overall an enjoyable experience
Must have the spicy mushroom tacos. Also the trout/saffron rice/shrimp with cream sauce was amazing. Wonderful cocktails!
The atmosphere is fabulous, but the food was not stellar like it easily could be. Pork and Ham sandwich had no flavor which is not hard to accomplish. Also, it took 10 to 15 minutes to get your drink orders----totally too long. With all these things I will give it another try. It is too easy to provide great food and stellar service.
Food was so disappointing.... dried out pork chop and boiled, mushy Brussel sprouts, inedible albondigas; the trout and shrimp was the only decent dish of the 5 ordered. Even the chips with the tiny portion of guacamole were off-tasting. The drinks were good though, so maybe just stick to Ocho for ambience and cocktails.
We should have looked at the menu before making reservations - it's very limited, and didn't appeal very much to two of the three as our table. The drinks were far more expensive than we expected ($21 for two old-fashioned). I didn't enjoy the virgin drink that I ordered and sent it back after a sip, and was still charged. That in itself wasn't an issue, but on the bill it was listed as lemonade. I think that might have been the problem, because it tasted like a sugar substitute was used.
That said the service was prompt, dessert was delicious (and brought out almost immediately when we ran short on time), and the place itself is absolutely gorgeous. I would go back again if the menu changed/rotates. The others at my table would not.
