Ocho at Hotel Havana
Friday & Saturday: 7:00am - 12:00am
Saturday & Sunday Brunch: 7:00am - 1:00pm
The worst service. Food had lots of issues. Beautiful though, if you don’t mind waiting 45 minutes for a drink and aren’t hungry.
Not a good experience at all. Service was terrible, our waiter appeared to also be bar tending, we waited for 45 minutes for our food to show up, and then my pork chop was raw in the middle. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
I’m surprised by the many positive comments on this restaurant. The drinks were nothing special and dilute. The food mediocre. Most notable the service was TERRIBLE. Our waiter seemed disinterested and needed prodding for water and food. After 45 minutes of no desert we cancelled and left. His excuse was the kitchen was backed up. The restaurant was half empty and it was bread pudding!
Loved the place more than anything. Food was good, but not very flavorful. Service was very laid back, but friendly.
Very disapointed. The kitchen was very slow. Our waiter said it was because they only had 1 cook. That was surprising because just the week before the San Antonio express news said that reservations were a must on Sunday’s and there would be a long wait. The food was just average.
Unfortunately, the unprofessional service staff does a disservice to the beautiful space and good food.
Wonderful service and unique experience. Bartenders are great, able to order off the menu. We went to the Havana Bar afterwards, it was wonderful as well.
Celebrating a special menu for Vegan Week we had an amazing Eggplant "Filet Mignon" that was so decedent that even a meat eater would second guess their meal. Fantastic service and a great drink topped off our meal. Thank you for participating and we hope you can add this to the menu for the Fall/Winter season.
Beautiful setting . On the San Antonio
River. The ambiance was fantastic. The guacamole and chips were delicious.
The food and ambiance was great! Probably one of my favorite dining experiences while visiting San Antonio!
Ocho has a small menu of good, well-crafted appetizers and meals. The atmosphere is pleasant. It's pretty busy, so you do need a reservation most of the time. The day we visited, the food service was extremely slow. The manager kindly reduced the bill, as we ended up having just a short time to eat before we had to leave for our show.
great vibe. i loved it. food was fresh, authentic and delicious and cocktails were top notch
The hostess wasn't helpful (not talkative) and sat us outside (in the sun) without asking (we had a reservation for inside). Food was just average and portion size for the bigger items was still small. We ordered griddled tortillas with blackberry butter/honey. They couldn't have been griddled and the butter was so cold we couldn't spread it. Plaintains were all over the menu but they only had non-ripe plaintains/tostones. My main dish was the cubano w/egg. It was interesting that they combined ham AND pulled pork but either way it wasn't very flavorful. The potatoes served with it were tender but not crunchy and didn't have much flavor. I like the space/atmosphere at Ocho (very pretty), but everything else was meh.
Have loved Ocho for many years. Great vibe and delicious food. Wonderful bar area downstairs with an eclectic atmosphere. Can’t say enough about this place!
An excellent and very unique location designed with the customer in-mind.
My husband and I ate here for dinner prior to a show at the Tobin. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The server was attentive and made sure we weren't late for the show. We were very impressed with the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. The food was good. Not anything I was "wowed" by. But good.
Good food and service, but you pay for atmosphere. Would return but only on special occasions. Great place for dinner if attending show at Tobin Center.
Ocho at Hotel Havana was a perfect place for a business lunch. Able to talk in a nice quiet space with great architecture and view! Excellent service, very good food.
Service was extremely slow. Food was okay.
Did not have a pleasant experience. Staff was not friendly. I was disappointed because I had read some good reviews. Hostess wasn’t very friendly and server never checked to see if we needed anything after dithering our drinks during our 45 minute wait for our food. I’ve worked in the food industry before and understand that sometimes it’s difficult when you’re busy but that wasn’t the case.
Service was great. Food was pricey but pretty good. I'd recommend more choices on the menu for dinner.
Some of the best griddle cakes I’ve ever had. Yummy! Tea and coffee was great, setting was beautiful and fun.
Absolutely perfect food, drinks, desserts, ambiance, excellent service. A million stars.
We are looking for a Rehearsal dinner venue for our son's wedding and we are wanting to book your restaurant. We have called and left a message and have not had our call returned. The bride's parents have waited for a returned call, but have not received one.
The plantain appetizer was like double fried cardboard, my pork chop was overcooked, dry and drowned in a sauce. I didn't care for the food at all. the service was mediocre.
Very beautiful spot overlooking a peaceful section of the river. Great drinks and tasty unique menu. Wife and I went her birthday and she loved it. Be sure and check out the bar in hotel Havana which is attached to the same building also
We had a nice time. Food and service were great. Cannot wait for cooler temperatures so they can open the garage doors to the river!
Ocho tries hard, but just doesn't make it. Their specialty seems to be serving fried food, except that they bake it. Bake tortilla chips, baked empanadas, etc.. I was told the Cuban sandwich was a specialty. I've had better Cuban sandwiches out of vending machines. The service was very slow. I think our waiter had social anxiety. This was so disappointing.
Lovely ambience, mediocre food. I had high hopes for this place, but was very disappointed. I would not go again.
Birthday date with my SO, love this restaurant it’s beautiful food and drinks are delicious friendly staff! The only faults I will mention and they don’t stop me from return visits is it can get a little warm in the summer daytime and the two person tables are small once your food arrives. Other than that I definitely recommend and look forward to returning
What a wonderful restaurant! Beautiful, great food and right in the river. Highly highly recommend!
I usually don't write reviews but I was so disappointed. Ordered a medium-rare steak and it was practically raw. The empanadas were okay but pretty over priced. Food took 30 minutes to come out. Staff was nice about it but I'd never go back.
Chose hotel Havana and Ocho to spend our one year anniversary at and it was a great choice. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant and food was amazing. Server was great and aided in our decision making so thank you. Will be returning
I've been wanting to try Ocho for a while- it was delicious and I loved the space. They even served my favorite cocktail (Old Cuban). We really enjoyed it.
Service was very slow on the patio. The server brought out the wrong drinks and appetizers. Entree arrived before the correct appetizer.
Heard a Lot about it, but had never been. Excellent all the way around. Really dig the whole vibe and the Havana bar downstairs is very cool.
Absolutely loved Ocho! Great food and awesome atmosphere!
Honestly, it was very good, just a little over priced and they played really horrible music towards the end of our dinner.
Great food as well as service
This restaurant has an inimitable style that we loved. Very interesting and elegant glass porch off of the back of the Havana Hotel. The food was excellent. The waiter, while very polished and polite, was actually not as knowledgeable as he should have been, but it was still a great experience.
