As usual the food was great... service seemed slow as our server, Brandon, had numerous tables. He was doing his best. Oceanaire might want to be a little more prepared for evenings like this that were more busy than expected during this unusual time.
Everything was good except the food was mediocre which was a shame because I’ve ate there before and it was fabulous. Also it’s too expensive to be mediocre.
Food was outstanding. Wife is very picky and said that the steak was the best ever. Daughter had Halibut and loved it (picky too).
It is an amazing restaurant. The food was fantastic and so was the service. Jen was a great waitress. We will definitely return to Oceanside.
We needed a late weeknight reservation for wedding night dinner and they took care of us. Called and confirmed with me that afternoon and even though we were one of the last two groups in the restaurant they took great care of us. The host greeted us promptly upon entering and congratulated us. Tim was excellent, went over the menu and his recommendations and also took time to chat with us while we waited.
He checked in to make sure everything was perfect during the meal but gave us space given our special occasion. The food was excellent and lived up to the standard I expected for the reputation. They didn't hurry us or pressure us to finish up, all in all an amazing experience complimented by great food and atmosphere.
Amazing, delicious! Service was excellent, staff was welcoming. We receive a personalized menu for our anniversary! Overall experience was top notch!
Our meal was outstanding and the service was even better. The gentleman that met us upon entering and held the door was polite and located custom menu's wishing my girlfriend a happy birthday. Our server, Amber, could not have been more polite and responsive with a great attitude. She was knowledgable about the menu and even made a suggestion for my entree that ended up being the best meal I have had at Oceanaire to date. We were provided an excellent birthday dessert to share as well. Lastly, we requested the host take our picture and he kindly stepped outside to do so.
Small portions for the prices. The food was tasty and fresh but not filling enough.
Excellent food, waiter was hard to hear over mask and music, but did an excellent job. My only complaint was they sat us next to the kitchen and bathrooms when there was plenty of other seating available and it was my wife’s birthday, which they knew.
We went there for our anniversary. We were happy with the service and the delicious courses. They acknowledged our anniversary and provided us with a baked Alaska. We will definitely be back! (We had oysters, the sourdough bread and relish, arctic char dynamite style, seared yellowfin tuna, and the truffle mashed potato side which was enough for two people.) Everything was great.
Was rushed through cocktails. Entrees arrived before first courses were done. Not what we expect from fine dining.
Have been twice since the re-opening. Menu is paired down but food was amazing. Server was attentive, drinks fantastic and they abide by all social distancing regulations.
Absolutely wonderful celebratory dinner with family. Had an extremely tender SIX POUND Maine Lobster that was surprisingly delicious, especially for such a large lobster. Lobster Mac & Cheese was also excellent, even though I typically do not like this at other restaurants as it tends to be fishy with minimal lobster pieces. But not at Oceanaire.
Oysters Rockefeller appetizer was delicious. Lump Crabmeat Appetizer is one of the best appetizers ANYWHERE with 99% crab chunks, sweet and delicious. And has been reliably like this for years. Best crab appetizer I have ever had.
Dessert of Baked Alaska flamed at the table was an excellent end to a wonderful night. Enjoy the best seafood in metro Indy. High end prices but if you want coastal quality seafood in Indiana, this is the place to get it! We will be back.
Been going here for 9 years and counting now. Every time is such a great experience. The food is top-notch, the service is always prompt and courteous, and the ambiance can't be topped in Indianapolis. The oysters are by far the best in the area.
Great Food, Great Service and will be back again!
Oceanaire is now a new favorite restaurant for me in Indianapolis. My birthday dinner was perfect. All our request were met. Our waiter was such a sweetheart he was very patient with everyone at our table. He went above and beyond for us. I pray everyone left him a generous tip that night. He deserved it for being so awesome! The rum cake/brownies were so delicious! Thank you all for providing a luxurious experience for us.
If you love quality seafood and excellent service, Oceanaire is the place to go! We went there for our anniversary and were amazed with the beauty of the restaurant, the polished service, and the yummy food. We even were served a very fancy, free dessert since it was a special occasion for us. We definitely will be back!
I would have given 5 stars if they had not felt the need to charge for bread. Really Oceanaire? You’re charging us for bread after we spent $450+? That's kind of tacky. Our local Cantina where two can eat for under $25 still gives free chips and salsa and you want to charge $3.50 for bread and a few raw and pickled veggies on a bill that with tip well exceeded $500?
Friendly and impeccable service paired with great food. Even under challenging circumstances no detail was left to chance.
Food wasn’t up to what we were used too - at the same time, only 6 people having dinner at 6 pm —
Once again we celebrated our anniversary with a dinner at Oceanaire. I had the shellfish grill and my wife had the swordfish. Both tasted wonderful and cooked to perfection. We also had a calamari appetizer and they add some hot peppers amongst the calamari which adds a little extra zing to the plate, IMO very good. We also ordered some hash browns as a side dish and they were done so well that needed no further condimentation. As a present for our anniversary, we received a baked Alaska. The entire dinner was delicious, the service was first class and the ambiance was awesome. Love this place and its food!
When we arrived there was no valet, so we asked the front desk person about the parking meters and if he could help because it wasn't accepting cards. He said they don't know anything about the meters. One person said she 'thought' it might be free on holidays...4th of July. I went back out and tried again. A bystander came by and said it was free on holidays. Management should know this. One guest had to keep asking for wine. The restaurant was not busy and servers were standing around not attending to their tables...only 10 tables max in the entire restaurant.
It was our 50th anniversary (the restaurant knew this) and our friends had to ask if there was a complimentary dessert. The waitress said, oh sure, we can get you something, what do you want. We chose key lime pie.
After waiting for eons, she brought the pie in a to-go bag rather than for all of us to share. After three hours dining, we didn't want to wait for her to go unbox it, so we let our friend take it hme.
Lovely atmosphere, great servers. The food is exceptional in taste and design. Definitely paying high dollar for the experience and the taste rather than food quantity, but that's ok. Don't expect exceptionally large portions - expect amazing tastes, amazing atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the scallops, shrimp, lobster, house green beans and ahi tuna.
The Oceanaire has always been a great experience for us. The food is extraordinary. It is pricey, but you definitely get the quality here that you are paying for. We go for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. We sat in a booth and felt comfortable by ourselves, especially with the tall backs of the booths. The nearest table was several yards away, so social distancing was well kept, and the staff all wore masks. Now is a great time to go because traffic is light and the hotels are empty, so it is quieter than usual in the Oceanaire.
The experience was great and the food was good too.
We had a great time at Oceanaire! My wife’s birthday was perfectly done. They even had special menus wishing her a happy birthday! Food was excellent, service was high quality, and we didn’t feel rushed. Thank you!!!
Great as usual, will return
We had a great meal at Oceanaire. The occasion was Father’s Day. The restaurant has taken necessary precautions for protection of patrons. Allen was our waiter, very knowledgeable of the menu and personable.
The entire staff wearing face mask diminished the dining experience. Would not recommend at this time.
Service was great, as was the food.. they are still trying to figure out this strange new world
Good and very good. Have no complaints.
This was a unique experience because everything is slowly starting to return to normal. Service was OK, but there was limited staff. The menu was a bit incomplete as mashed potatoes were "gone". Drinks took a bit to come at the onset. But - regardless, food was above par and the restaurant was first and foremost, OPEN! YEA! I'm sure things will get back to regular dining experiences once the ramp up comes full circle. Thanks Oceanaire team.
Fresh ingredients, wonderful service, and amazing drinks
Our Server Jeff took excellent care of us. Everyone is working hard at Sanitizing and Social Distancing. Our Food, Service and everything was a great experience. As tough a time as restaurants have been having could not believe that a couple in the Corner did a Dine and Dash!
Service was phenomenal and the food was above great! Will definitely be returning here.
Best Fillet we've ever had. Oysters are wonderful. If you get a topping on your protein (and do, they are wonderful), go with a smaller portion of the protein. Drinks are well worth the price.
Great service, food and social distancing.
Great Birthday Dinner and our server Andre was the best.
Great as usual, would have been better if idiots had not broken the windows causing Oceanaire to border them up for safety of their guests. However, the staff of Oceanaire made the best of it for us and other guests.
