The food was great and they really personalize the experience since it was our anniversary. I will definitely return
As always it was lovely!
Oceanaire is one of my favorite restaurants and once again, it was wonderful! The food and the service were both outstanding!
The service is top notch and with all the amazing seafood options (get the crab cake appetizer) it would be a shame to discount the fact that their filet is likely one of the top filets in the city! Thank you all again for a great experience!
Great food, and great service.
For the price their food was not special. The calamari was way overcooked and had breaded & fried lemon slices and jalapeños. Who wants to unexpectedly bite into a breaded fried lemon or jalapeño? Not fun.
The shrimp scampi angel pasta was full of red pepper flakes and almost inedible.
Oceanaire is quite good. Fresh fish and great chef. Server was very knowledgeable. The problem is the cost is simply too high. $65 for 1 lb of crab. $55 for salmon that although good would be half the price at Bonefish. Everything is ala carte. Our bill for 3 people w dinner, two cocktails and 2 ala carte items was $325 w tip. Unless you’ve hit the lottery or your on an expense account this place is out of your league.
Seating in booths was difficult for my dinner reservation of 5 business associates.
Excellent seafood dishes. Their specials stretch the culinary imagination for seafood dishes. I had the Diver scallops top with their "dynamite" topping, which consisted of a spicy crabmeat mixture. Although recommend by the waiter, it was not a good blend of taste. The taste of the scallops got lost. The oyster selection was great, however $5.00 for a Kumomota oyster is ridiculous. Wine list is extensive with great selections to pair with your meal. Overall, we always come here for their seafood when we are in town.
Amazing food and GREAT service! Pricey but it's well worth every cent!
Our waitress was great. She explained the menu well, answered all of our questions, and was quick to serve. Our water glasses were never empty! The food was amazing, definitely will be going back soon.
Wait staff was very polite and knowledgeable. Food was excellent and portions were big enough to create a second meal.
Our server was wonderful and attentive - helpful and knowledgeable about the menu (without being annoying). Everything we chose was delicious. We were only sorry we didn’t have time for dessert (before the performance we were attending).
My wife and I dined there for the first time prior to going to a show at the IRT. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere, conducive to conversation and the food was outstanding. We will be back
Very beautiful and lovely for our anniversary dinner.
Halibet t bone was fantastic
Great service, quiet, food was great, especially the smoked salmon, drinks were great
Food and service were excellent.
My daughter celebrated her 21st birthday at this restaurant. Everybody at the restaurant made her feel special. The menus were custom printed with her name and birthday greetings for her. The food was delicious and our server was very nice. She also got a special desert for her birthday. Thank you!
Service, food and drinks were fantastic as always!
Wonderful food. A special mention to Jeff, our server, an example of professionalism and kindness.
Al was very helpful and our server Thomas was outstanding as usual. Another fine meal and experience!
Wonderful fresh fish. Good variety and favorite place!
The fish was excellent and the restaurant uncrowned on Thursday night, but the service was slow and erratic. Why? Not slammed, not understaffed that we could see. Appetizers came out quickly but then both the fish and desserts were very late. Hope it was just an off night.
This was my first time dining in this restaurant. I had a wonderful expierence. The host was very polite and helpful. He seated us right away even though we were running a bit early. Our server, Allen, did a fantastic job. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, including helping me pick out oysters that I have never had before. His server assistant, I don’t remember her name, was very attentive to our table and very friendly as well. The food was absolutely perfect. We were not rushed, all of our food was prepared and plated in a manner that is expected with this caliber of restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice and very professional and made you feel like you are in a great culinary institution. My wife and I do not get opportunities to have dinner without the kids very often. I am glad that we chose the Oceanaire for our one adult only meal so far this year. Was excellent and can not wait to return. C. Wallace
Enjoy the diversified choice - service staff is consistent while understanding how to explain the product as well as what’s supply limited vs standard fare. Probably best pure fish service in Indianapolis
10/10 would definitely recommend. The food was hands down the best I’ve had this year. Very impressed with the taste and service. Definitely will be back, even the cocktails were amazing!
My wife and I went there for our anniversary. My sister called ahead to pay for our meal and let them know this was a special occasion. We were very impressed when they greeted us with a happy anniversary wish and a table already set up for us. The menu included our names at the top with anniversary wishes. This was pretty much the end of the enjoyment of our experience. Our house salads were very salty. The entrees came out with two rather small shrimp, two rather small scallops, and the lobster tail. It seemed like very small portions for a restaurant that charges $49 for just this entrée. We both just chalked it up to this being a fancy restaurant that goes by quality rather than quantity. Everything was way overcooked. The shrimp was rubbery and way over cooked. The lobster tail was so overcooked that it was extremely difficult to remove from the shell and came out in strands. It was also chewy. The scallops were the only good part but were also a bit overcooked but at least they were tasty. Our waitress came by and asked how things were and I made a comment that it wasn't very good which she took to mean it was delicious and she left. The mac and cheese side didn't come until the meal was over and we had to remind the waitress who told us it was okay because it would be worth the wait. It wasn't. It has very few pieces of lobster, it was not creamy, and it was pretty bland. I finally did say something to the waitress to let her know we weren't happy with our meal and she responded by saying, "I thought you said you enjoyed it when I asked you." She wasn't very attentive to our table overall but she did bring out the manager who apologized and reduced the bill to around $50. We left the full tip of $28 for the waitress even though I didn't feel she was particularly accommodating. However, I don't think I would want to go there ever again.
We have been going to Oceanaire for years. This is sthe first time that the service level was less than superior. We waited for 15 minutes before the waiter came around. Food was great. Hope they can get it corrected!
Wonderful atmosphere, very professional wait staff. We come here for every celebration dinner because we are guaranteed a great meal and a staff that attends to you just the right amount. It’s about your schedule not theirs, which is nice!
A fun experience, just super loud and busy as it was St. Patrick’s day. Pretty great overall though!
The bartender was our waiter. He was fantastic. Suggested the ichiban oysters, which were killer. He suggested a great wine and was always there when we needed something. It was busy and he was also taking care of the bar an a additional booth. Food was great we had crab legs, shrimp and hash browns. Perfect dinner!
Incredibly slow...took 1 hour of being there to get our FIRST round of drinks. At least 90 minutes to get our food. No compensation other than oh, sorry. No thanks. Won't be back.
We had a great time with Chase. He was able to help us decide on some great new fish specials (sable fish and black and bleu sturgeon) with a wine pairing that we thoroughly enjoyed! The shrimp and grits was a great starter. Definitely going back.
They provided extra attentiveness for our anniversary. They had custom menus printed, and provided a complimentary dessert. Excellent, food and service.
I met a few guests for a business meeting. The staff was attentive and the food was right on the money. Thank you!
Food is good but the high price points push the value way down.
We were treated great by everyone at the restaurant.
Delayed entrees made for a disappointing evening. We slammed down "mega" dollars worth of food, paid the bill and literally ran to the concert. We had plenty of time, but the food just wouldn't come.
