Great food and great service from Susan, I highly recommend a visit if seafood is waht you are looking for.
I had the clam chowder it was not hot I had to request several items over and over. My seared tuna had membrane in it that was chewy and I could not swallow. I had to spit it out. One of my oysters was very rancid I had three different types. Then to top it all off the valet lost the keys to my car and took them an hour and a half to find them in another car
Best date place.
Our waiter Nate was amazing! Everything he recommended was perfect from the drink (Stout Old Fashion) that I didn’t think I wanted to the soup (gumbo, clam chowder) & the main entree (lobster fried chicken and crab cakes)! We will definitely return!
Seafood was fresh and very well prepared. However, the menu was limited and, for a seafood restaurant, it had a notable selection of steaks and such. Fish selection was nothing special - redfish, swordfish, etc. and Alaskan king crab was top dollar at $72/lb. Entrees came with one side. You are able to order additional sides but at a considerable markup - most of which were $20-30 but shareable. The calamari appetizer we ordered was padded with peppers and lemons, had lot's of breading and very little actual calamari: it was greasy and bland. The Crab Louis was good but the quantity did not justify the $28 price tag. My halibut was very good but, again, top dollar.
Cocktails were good and reasonably price. The wine selection was (again) limited and unoriginal.
The servers did not wear masks and there was no visible precautions in place for COVID, other than a bottle of sanitizer (which seemed watered down) by the hostess station. Tables were close together and there was no apparent adjustment to the airflow within the restaurant. All in all, a risky venue for the un-vaccinated or those concerned about COVID variants.
While the clientele was mixed, the restaurant was popular with a younger crowd who like to display their wealth and success, and looked like their next stop was a night club. Some of the women dressed in a very revealing manner and in contradiction to the restaurants dress code. This venue is very much for adults and, for whatever reason, appeared to be a place where people go to promote themselves.
To summarize, this is not a bad restaurant but it is nothing special either. Despite the food being good, although not particularly imaginative or extensive, you are paying top dollar and the atmosphere/clientele is not especially appealing. The Oceanaire has been a Dallas landmark for along time, but it's trading on its past reputation and simply isn't good value; nor, all things considered, is it a particularly good experience.
The food was Great it would’ve been better to get bigger portions for the prices. Overall it was Excellent.
Had an amazing server as we celebrated our anniversary.
The food was delicious and although my steak was undercooked they quickly acted to correct it.
Great food, top-notch service. I fully recommend this place.
Great seafood and excellent service!
Dinner Saturday 5:30 had king crab was very good and crab cake also tasty sides are large we had hash browns
The only thing that was unsatisfactory was parking they had a large group at hotel where this restaurant is located and it took over 30 minutes to get our car after dinner.
Very nice evening dining out. The halibut was outstanding!
Excellent food and service
We went to celebrate our nine year wedding anniversary and it was amazing!!
The quality of food is very good but there are other places with same quality and significantly lower price.
Beautiful and Romantic place for date night. Food and Service was great. My new favorite place to eat. Chef Thomas was great.
From the moment we walked in, we were treated wonderfully . We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary, and the host immediately acknowledged that. We loved the special menus recognizing the occasion :) Susie and the rest of the wait staff were impeccable. The precision, effectiveness and courtesy we experienced were absolute. Our compliments to the chef, who prepared perfectly executed dishes that we enjoyed thoroughly.
Went for my Birthday. Service was excellent. Enjoyed the Ousters. Very fresh. The hash browns are ridiculous. Really good. We all had seafood entrees and all were tasty and well prepared. Not inexpensive, but worth it. .
Beautiful birthday experience our server was amazing!; Had the time of my life with my beautiful sister!
Great food and experience!!!
The service was incredible and Thomas is one of the best waiters I have ever experienced. The restaurant is beautiful and reminiscent of a old school cruise line. The food was decent. The best thing we had was the lobster fried rice. I wouldn’t personally recommend the chicken fried lobster. We got it as a novelty but it was not as exciting as it sounded.
Fabulous meal and service!
It was an incredible experience.
Great food and our server was amazing. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and they made it extra special.
Just always hits it out of the park
Excellent menu and food quality is superb.
Food was excellent. We celebrating a birthday and they always make the birthday person feel special. Tina provided great service.
It was my birthday 🎉 Good food like always. Our waitress Susie was excellent. Best crab cakes Hands-Down. The Chicken Fried Lobster is my new favorite!!😋
Great evening celebrating the end of vacation. This location is one of our go to places for date night. We were glad to see the seafood gumbo back on the menu. Our server, Tianna, was excellent. Restaurant was full but staff was handling it well. Love seeing a full restaurant again. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
We’ve dined before at the Washington DC location and the Dallas location was just as delightful - - superb in all categories- - food, service, and ambiance! Highly recommend!
Very good food and excellent service by Nathan. A bit pricy , but we knw that going in from previous experience. Was disappointed that valet parking was not comped.
Went to the Oceanaire last night for our anniversary dinner and it was AMAZING! The staff was attentive and friendly, Lisa was doing great getting everyone seated promptly and handling concerns from staff and patrons. Ryan took great care of us and made sure our glasses were full, our meal was delivered quickly, and we were enjoying our visit. ANDTHEFOOD! Delicious! From our first bite to the flaming dessert it was fantastic. The lobster deviled egg with micro greens was the perfect bite. The clam chowder was creamy and full of flavor. The filet medallions were seasoned to perfection and the perfect medium rare. The lobster tail was sweet and moist, every bite was succulent. Whipped truffle mashed potatoes and creamed corn were the perfect sides. And then the Baked Alaska! When your dessert is on fire you know it's the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Thanks to everyone at The Oceanaire for making our night one to remember. Special thanks to JP Shanks the Executive Chef and an all around great guy.
We waited and waited for our pre-dinner drinks. Then when our food arrived, the wine had not been presented or poured. One diner had to send back her salmon...ordered rare but served medium well. The servder was apologetic about the long wait for our drinks..he said the bar was "slammed" and the bartender(s) were really busy.
Every dish was outstanding and the service was impeccable
Wonderful food with attentive service. I highly recommend the scallops casino and fried lobster.
Food was fantastic. Service was incredible but slower than normal. Likely due to short staff.
Food, service, and atmosphere, all great!! Susan was excellent server!
Our evening was excellent as usual, great food and great service.
Best lobster mac n cheese ever!!
Love the service, I always love good service, food was amazing, great environment
Nate was great
