Another great meal at one of Utica's finest. Serving sizes are a little small for the prices, but made up for in taste and flavor.
Food was great; service good. The background music was too loud.
We celebrated our Anniversary there last night, the service was excellent, our waitress was very pleasant. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect.
We enjoyed everything about our experience there.
Have been wanting to go here ever since I first moved to Utica but I never had the chance. I finally was able to go for a date and it was wonderful. The waitress was very friendly and always attentive. The food was delicious and my fiancé enjoyed every bite. The ambiance was pleasant and calm. It was chilly that night so we weren’t able to enjoy their outdoor patio but it looked lovely from inside. I would definitely return and will recommend to friends and family.
Food has amazing flavor . Service was slow and server was not friendly and did not crack a smile once. Have to ask for drink refills , including water. Doesn’t make for a great dining experience.
We discovered Ocean Blue awhile ago and decided to return for husband's birthday. Both times we combined with a visit to the nearby Munson, Williams, Proctor Arts Institute. It is a wonderful restaurant...expensive but excellent service and amazing food. This time we sat outside on their large patio. I don't know why they don't use umbrellas but the day wasn't too hot so it worked out okay. Tables were spaced inside and out and that was appreciated. We were there for Sunday brunch and there were many choices. Desserts were to die for!
My only disappointment was they knew it was a birthday celebration, acknowledged when we arrived but no special drink or dessert or table side recognition. Not a big deal, but I noticed.
Very friendly and welcoming hostesses ( new and upbeat) as was our server who was working solo for the 1st time following her training (Kali). Food was tasty and well presented although it sat under the heating lamps for 20 minutes before making it to our table, just 10 feet away. The chefs were cranking out the food, again in very tasty fashion ( crab cakes were unbelievably great), however there was just one young man assigned to serve the food once it was prepared and piling high under the heating lamps. We watched somebody’s burger being warmed for 30 minutes. He was trying desperately however nobody came to help him. So much for teamwork. Wasn’t his doing.
Ambiance was great, food was very tasty and well presented, some dishes were cold, sent back an appetizer for replacement and 30 min later when main entry was presented it still hadn’t reappeared.
Three people, 2 entrees with no drinks other than 2 coffee and 1 dessert ( again missing in action) for $200 including a nice tip for the staff that was trying hard.
Likely a staffing shortage and we understand. Thanks for being open. See you again soon.
The service was slow, the prices quite expensive. Hoping the food would be good, but we were very disappointed.
The wine, soup, & salad started off just fine, but the main fish dishes were not—very bland, with inedible greens on the side. We will NOT go there again!
Excellent, prompt service. Great food. Nice atmosphere.
I wanted to be seated outside on the rooftop and they were able to accommodate me . The Pear Margarita was very good . I ordered herb roasted chicken and saw 2 pieces on the plate . It would be nice to offer small plates . The key lime pie was bad . I think it was still frozen Crust was stuck to the dish , it was heavy . Not a light refreshing key lime like I’m used to . All in All , it was ok , and I will dine again at Ocean Blue
The food was great, the service was slow. Still an overall enjoyable experience.
We love Ocean Blue. Excellent food and service. We are big fans of the sea bass and filet with chimichuri sauce. A key lime pie and three forks top off a great meal. The best was sitting on the roof, the weather was beautiful. Whether you eat inside or out on the roof you won’t be disappointed.
Appetizers are very good. Entrees are ok. Not a ton of flavor and overpriced. I will be back but only for drinks and appetizers.
Had a great evening from drinks to dessert! Gave us plenty of time between appetizers, dinner and dessert. Always my favorite place to go!
Traveled from out of town and knew we wanted to try this restaurant for brunch. We originally sat outside because it was overcast but as soon as we sat the sun came out. Staff was extremely accommodating with moving our table inside. Server was very knowledgeable with making drink and food recommendations. The food was delicious, but we knew it would be. One dish came out missing a main ingredient and when it was brought to the attention of staff, a new one was made and brought within minutes.
We had several staff members (besides our server) stop by and ask how things were or if we needed a drink refill with a great awareness of the right times to stop by the table (not mid-bite!). Would absolutely dine here again, hopefully for dinner next time!
We’ve had some excellent meals here, but this visit was disappointing. It was ok, but we’ve come to expect more from Ocean Blue. The filet and the ahi tuna were fine, but not as good as usual. The filet. for example, was medium, not medium rare, and the baked potato that came with it was cold. Regarding service in the outdoor patio, it appeared to me that it was understaffed (on a Saturday night). Our waitress was trying to get around, but there were too many orders, between meals and drinks. No staff asked about our meal, and eventually I had to ask for our table to be cleared and say that we wanted to order dessert. We’ll definitely go back to Ocean Blue, but this was not like our previous experiences.
My friends birthday and the first time they had been here. We sat on the rooftop outside and it was beautiful! Calamari appetizer was simply delicious. All 5 of us got different meals and tried each other’s. Everyone loved their dinner! Crab cakes, Ahi Tuna, Stuffed haddock, Chicken, and lobster stuffed ravioli. Every one delicious. And then we shared a cheesecake and a creme brûlée for dessert- again delicious. This restaurant is top notch food, service and ambience. It has it all!
Our first time there, only a 20 minutes for our table, but enjoyed our first drink at the bar to wait. Lovely summer night to be on the patio. Our filets were excellent. Wait times were appropriate. Pricey but worth it for special occasions. We also received a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.
Wonderful rooftop views added to a delightful tasty dinner!
Every single staff member made us feel welcome. Everyone was very cheerful and accommodating.
Food was excellent, but prices are out of line for the area. Waitress was very personable and attentive. Nice restaurant, but music a little to loud.
We had a great meal. New waiter, but what he lacked in experience he made up for with charm and ability to quickly get the answers we needed. We were asked repeatedly by staff if there was a special occasion which felt nice, but besides our waiter wishing us a happy birthday, not sure what that info is used for. Very cool to be on the roof and get a different view of Utica at sunset. Beautiful! A bit pricey, but nice for a special occasion. Would go again.
Food was quite good but service was awful. Seemed very short staffed - waited almost 90 minutes for main - waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed and not attentive. Not sure I’d return.
The food was good as usual, but it was abnormally hot in there that I was sweating the entire brunch
Everything was very good as usual. The wait staff was pleasant and very quick.
Delicious cocktails but food very average. Very over priced for what it actually is. Everyone at the restaurant is very polite and accommodating.
Excellent service and ambiance! Food was outstanding, as usual!
Our apps came after we got our entrees which was a little weird, but overall it was super nice. The food is amazing and the ambiance is on point.
much of the menu is very expensive, but the food is fine. Outdoor dining on a nice day is really nice.
Nicole the waitress was amazing and very helpful with my wife’s drink selection!
Gorgeous night to eat outside. All the food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Expensive but great for date night. Drinks were good too!
The location was very nice especially the outdoor rooftop seating. The food was superior for dinner and for Sunday Brunch. Service was really good for brunch but not so great for dinner. The bar staff was also very good.
No complaints and I will be back!!
Good food and great service. A little slow, but not a big problem. $16 for a glass of rose' was a bit much though.
Mosquitoes were so awful.
A little pricey but very nice spot for a special day and excellent food and very nice wine list. A party of five and every person was pleased with the meal and they allowed ample time to really enjoy our birthday event.
Ate outside and it was wonderful! Rooftop is awesome
Food and service are consistently perfect! We love dining here.
Amazing venue! We love everything about Ocean Blue!
Dinner was absolutely amazing and the drinks were amazing as well I’m definitely coming back my waitress Nicole was great and made some great recommendations with the food and drinks cause it was our first time so thank you Nicole for the great service and we’ll definitely be coming back for seconds lol
Excellent as always! keep doing what your doing!!
