O'Brien's Oyster Bar & Grillfish
First time there. Service was great.
Very understaffed. Dirty tables every where. Multiple tables walked out because of lack of service. My wife got bottomless mamosa’s. It was like pulling teeth to get our waiters attention so she could order one. They sat a large party of frat boys next to my wife and baby and I. Their language was extremely vulgar and they were very loud. Very poorly ran restaurant. My steak was dry and over cooked but my wife’s omelet was great.
The appetizers arrived after the main courses. The only flavors detected on the dishes were salt and butter. The back patio did not have any lights so you could not see what you were eating. Enough said.
Very poor service for brunch last Sunday with my husband.
Food was just ok. Sat outside as inside music was obnoxiously loud for day time dining at least. Took over an hour to get a simple Mimosa or iced tea. Raw Oyster dejection was good. Not sure we will try this place again due to the slow service.
Sunday brunch 8/23/20. Excellent food! Ordered Eggs Benedict, Ruben Eggs Benedict & ham/cheese omelette. We definitely will go back
Great service. Every dish we ordered was delicious-super shrimp! Cocktails were spot on.
Wonderful night outside in Annapolis!
The food and staff were fantastic. We sat outside and had 1/2 pound of shrimp. The shrimp were HUGE! Even people walking past made comments about how big and how good they looked. Our waitress was top notch, consistently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely come back here.
Food was good, but service was less than desirable.
My husband and I opted to make a reservation for 5pm although we were able to get seated outside right away regardless of making one. I ordered a half dozen Skipjack oysters. Next time I'll try the Prime - I prefer a little more salinity. I also ordered the Seared Tuna app as my main entree. It came out WAY overcooked for tuna. I like mine rare - really how it should be served. It was still good, and the Asian noodles had nice flavor. My husband ordered shrimp appetizer - they were HUGE! He also got the Mac N Cheese with crab which was very good and decently priced. There seemed to be plenty of seating outside which was nice, we enjoyed live music from across the street. The prices were very reasonable. I would try the tuna again, maybe the cook was overwhelmed on a Saturday night.
This was our first time to O'Brien's. It was an excellent experience all the way around. We will certainly be back! The oysters were outstanding!!!
Service and food were both subpar. Our server messed up our orders and our checks, and then said he didn’t want to fix them because it would be too much work for him. Portions were small and food was forgettable. I got the crab legs and for the money spent, I got a very small portion. The portions of the pasta were great though! I’d recommend the seafood Cajun penne. Oysters were decent as well. Come here if you want to eat without a wait or if you’re in the mood for oysters but I’d skip otherwise. Probably will not be returning, mainly due to the poor service.
We were celebrating my birthday and it was perfect. The crab cakes were the best I've ever had! The service from Jordan was impeccable. She was so sweet with my toddler daughter and nephew. We felt very safe with Covid. They took every precaution.
Good food, good service. My Daughter enjoyed her Stuffed Rockfish A+, and the Oysters were excellent(A+). Crabcake was a B. Draft Beer was an A, and the overall atmosphere was a B+.
The service was an A, as the Waitress made frequent visits to make sure we were taken care of.
The restaurant was the perfect place for a family meal celebration. Very family friendly and the food was great.
The raw oysters were tasty and cold. The crab cake -- a Maryland specialty -- was very crabby, but bland. The waitress specifically recommended the fries as a side, so we thought we'd get something special. But they were standard, salty, previously frozen restaurant fries -- nothing to write home about. But the roasted brussels sprouts were really good. Bottom line: They're surrounded by restaurants with better food, ambience, and service.
The service, food etc was great
Food was delicious! Service was excellent!
Great food and great service. Nice and quiet ambiance.
We were seated at almost 9pm. Our waitress was very nice and did a good job. The ambiance quickly went downhill when the pounding music from the bar started.
Wish we had earlier reservations for dinner.
Great time for all! Went to a game at Navy stadium and stopped in after. Very fun place, good service and the food was perfect, especially the oysters, and the beer selection was awesome. Delizioso!! -and I'm not even Italian. If you're looking for a nice relaxing pub in the heart of Annapolis, this is the place.
It was Christmas Day. Despite being shorthand, both the service and food was great.
Tasty food options and friendly service. We had a great dinner there on Christmas.
We went to O'Brien's for Christmas dinner. The food was good but the service was very slow. There weren't enough servers plus it didn't seem like they were assigned areas of the restaurant; the servers had tables all over the restaurant.
Unbelievable service and the waitstaff was so great.
Open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We have had many nice dinners here in the past. This last visit was awful. Four of five meals came out. Tho one meal for our pregnant daughter did not. We had to flag down our waitress to ask about it. She finally came back and said it never got submitted to the kitchen. All of our meals were finished before a random person brought out my daughters food. The waitress finally came back and said the meal wld be comped. A manager came and said the same thing- and that the kitchen was busy. Our waitress was not very attentive. And we had less than a pleasant family meal. Very disappointing...
We were extremely happy with where our large group was seated, the service was great and the food was very good. Our table was upstairs and our poor waitress had to run up and down the stairs to wait on us. She did a great job and was very attentive.
Sooooo loud but we were able to move to a table in the back and it got a tiny bit quieter. We ate at 4:30 so It wasn’t even prime time but regardless food was good!
Haven’t been to O’Brien’s in quite a while. What a pleasant surprise. We will be going back on a regular basis.
We would recommend O'Brien's but only if you eat in the bar area. We came to the restaurant in the afternoon to watch football and had a great time. Food and service were great so we came back for dinner. Big mistake. The food was mediocre (other than the awesome cream of crab soup) and the service was lacking. We'll be back but NOT for dinner.
Travel to Annapolis for the weekend. Disappointed with dining experience.
Great spot for dinner the night before Thanksgiving!
For those who ordered the raw orders, crab cake, they were not disappointed. The other meals were not very good, some inedible, but most too polite to send back. Wait staff was excellent, very accommodating, noise level from giant tv screen in back room got very loud, but staff was accommodating in turning down until we left.
Angry clams were way over sized more like chowder clams, which made him very tough.
Rockfish dinner with the shrimp sauce on top was horrible
Great time at my birthday party! They gave us a great space and they were very accommodating with the festivities. Really good food, loved the crab dip and really enjoyed the salmon for dinner.
Great location for downtown Annapolis. Broad seafood menu. Our meal completely met our expectations at reasonable prices.
It is more of a bar than restaurant. Food was just O.K.
Food was decent, ambiance just a big room, a little loud. No major complaints, but nothing exceptional either. Service was great and accommodating.
We went to O'Brien's on a Saturday evening. The restaurant has a perfect location right in the heart of Annapolis. The server was very polite and prompt. I had a dozen mussels and the fish tacos. Both were very good. Only downside was that we were seated in one of the back rooms where there was little atmosphere and only three other tables occupied. It was quiet but we were looking for a more lively night out. Would definitely go back but next time, we will grab a seat at the bar or wait for a table outside.
