Beautiful restaurant and excellent decor. Great menu that fits the bill for most everyone and service was on point. Looking for a fun spot for a special evening or just to get out the house for date night then look no further. Awesome job Paul and Ed.
The food and service were like a farmer out in the field, out standing.
Always phenomenal! We're so glad you're back open for the high-quality dining we've missed during the shutdown. Service is always personable, tailored, and the best part of our visit. The menu portions are generous and there's always something tasty for us vegetarians. Don't miss the Parkerhouse dinner rolls and a cocktail for your first round - it's my favorite part of the meal!
We had a delicious social-distanced meal! Temp check and masks which we appreciated. Our server Eric was great. Every staff member seemed to come by to check on us and say thank you. I had the steak frites, delicious; my partner had filet, also outstanding. Highly recommend the caesar salad and brussel sprouts. We will definitely return.
By far the best time I’ve had really love the setting and the waiters are exceptional💯💯💯 wouldn’t go anywhere else the food is fantastic and elegant.
Absolutely awesome place to eat. One of the best steaks we've had.
We had the best meal and service this past Monday. From
Oysters to grilled Caesar salad and amazing bone marrow with bacon jam. The burger was the best I’ve ever had. Lucy and Ed gave great service. So glad Oak is downtown Raleigh. Will be back soon. The restaurant is so spacious already that we felt safe and spaced out appropriately.
It was a good experience
very expensive $41 for a choice filet
Exceptional food and service. Highly recommend the Caesar salad.
Detailed review from dinner 7/11/2020.
10/10 A++. Here's why:
I have a good friend fly in every year for a few nights of fancy dinners and catching up, just the dudes. Over the last few years we've gone to pretty much every steakhouse within a 45 minute drive of Carrboro. I can say Oak Steakhouse Raleigh---we both agreed---easily the best city steakhouse in Chapel Hill, Durham, or Raleigh. We're from Chicago, where there are famous steakhouses every block, we're hard to impress. Everything at Oak from the bread and butter (which was for sale, not given to the table free as usual... at first we thought that was weird.) One bite of the bread and we were amazed at these things. My buddy said, "yeah i wouldn't be giving these away free, either!" Haha. Apparently they import special yeast mixes just for the rolls, but whatever they do, its bread that's worth writing about. Respectable wine and top-shelf goodies list, too. Then the steaks....the only 10/10 we've ever agreed on. We both had filet mignons and my buddy requested an off-menu extra, a peppercorn crust, and they said no problem, and it came out great. They have a heck of a chef back there somewhere. We asked where the meat was from; it was so good-- and as it turned out, surprise/ no surprise--they import their steaks every few days from Chicago! They said (we already knew this but suddenly the prime meat quality made sense) there is just a different level of tenderness from Midwestern meat...almost a "more full" flavor profile. We also got a couple orders of fries and maple candied brussel sprouts for sides. again---it's not easy to impress experienced steakhouse guys with fries or brussel sprouts, but damn, just perfect. The perfect balance of checking on us and leaving us alone. That's something we're always picky about :) But 10/10 on service, too. Great interior, nice and dim, spacious, huge comfy chairs. Friendly and non-obtrusive staff. Want that fancy dinner out? Go to Oak, it's impressive.
Matt, Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so happy that you had an amazing time at Oak Steakhouse Raleigh. Look forward to having you back soon!
Excellent steakhouse. Highly recommend. Would come back another time.
I have been dreaming about getting the Beef Wellington as soon as I saw it on their menu— it is the only steakhouse around that offers this dish. It was MORE than worth the wait. So good!!! Their Brussels sprouts are also the best I’ve ever had. And the bartender created me a customized drink. Eric was an amazing server and I would recommend Oak to anyone for both the food and customer service. I can’t wait to go back!
The service and the food was amazing. Danny was a sweetheart!! Will be back soon!!
Was overall good, nice Prosecco for birthday celebration and good steak. Could have had more side options
Fantastic food and experience
Sat at the bar. Great service and an overall very nice night.
As always a great dinner, great cocktails and great service. Sides - salads, fries and sprouts, are large enought to share - salad for 2, the others for 3-4. Same with steak cuts. A tip: our friends ordered a filet mignon to share. It arrived cut horizontally - which didn't look appealing and it was over cooked. So, if you go that direction, ask to have it cooked whole and then cut vertically for sharing.
We went for Father’s Day and were very pleased. Service by Daniel was excellent as well as entertaining. Menu was thoroughly explained and interesting. A little different than the usual steak house. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. A little less stodgy than most steak houses. Much more modern with large windows and softer colors.
All in all, a delightful experience. We will definitely go there again.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so happy you had a great experience. Look forward to having you back in the restaurant soon!!
My husband and I was celebrating our 11 year anniversary and had a waiter named Eric. EVERYTHING was great until this morning I checked my account and was charged extra. I called and spoke to ZACK and he told me it was a “HONEST MISTAKE”. My bill was $200.09 and I was charge $240.00. I gave my waiter a $30 tip IN CASH!! And as I ALWAY do (because I heard about thieves putting tips in) I put N/A on the tip line.
Unfortunately ZACK was VERY nonchalant about as if I need to not worry about it. I’m upset because this was our first time there and enjoyed the food. But STEALING money is wrong whether or not you give it back because it was caught.
We got there a bit early and were seated right away. Social distancing was in place..thank you..food was amazing..we all got a different dish and ate everything--
Amazing, there weren’t many people in the restaurant due to covid, and there was just one other couple dining at the bar like we were so we were all 6 feet apart. The bartender was awesome, yet we never caught his name. DELICIOUS Brussel sprouts!
Everything about our experience was top-notch. Reservationist was professional; hosts personable; waiter attentive to details, knowledgeable and cordial (thank you, Ryan!). The busser and other servers were expeditious. Manager was attentive as well, stopping by to discuss wine with us. The food was ideally prepared and presented. Tasty, beautiful, and abundant. We ordered the pork belly starter, which was not too rich nor sweet, like they sometimes can be. The ribeye, filet mignon, brussel sprouts & bone marrow pomme frites were all perfection. So was the berry crumble & coffee for dessert. Not one complaint. The decor/ambiance is gorgeous, too. Although we were there for our anniversary, I noticed there are reasonable options for lunch or a casual dinner such as salads and burger. But for a special occasion or a business dinner, this establishment is prime. So glad they put roots here in Raleigh. We will be back!
We were excited about the re-opening after being closed for weeks due to the stay at home order. With that re-opening, you might expect a hiccup or two. That was not the case as the experience was a good as we have come to know. Our server was attentive, yet patient. She was helpful with our wine selection, and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend the new small plate offering of pork belly.
Service was a lot slower than expected - 2-hours+ dinner for 4. Limited menu leaves a little to be desired. Food was delicious - husbands steak came to the table cold but too hungry to send it back. Wasn't the level we had experienced in the past - sadly. I would only recommend them when they and their menu is back 100%.
OverLl great service, fantastic smoked bourbon. As a suggestion, it would have been nice to know our steak was priced at $100.00. We were not prepared for that, yes it was delicious but we would have reconsidered. Waiter was very good.
The Beef Wellington is out of this world. Split the Grilled Caesat Salad with you and your compainion. You will not be disappointed.
Amazing meal from start to finish! Every single item we ordered for our table of four was perfectly cooked and presented. And the steaks - WOW! Took my son there for his birthday and he had probably the best steak in his life - a massive 30 day dry aged TBone. Pricey but you would expect that for the quality and length of dry aging. Put this place on your list of places to try. You won't be disappointed!
Excellent steak and sides... a touch too much salt due my liking but overall the steak was outstanding
The food was out of this world. Our third time visiting and it has been consistently amazing. The service was attentive, accurate, prompt, very friendly and engaging. Made my husbands birthday dinner an A++ treat! It’s a bit pricey, but for a special occasion, just close your eyes and go for it and don’t think twice. Get the deviled eggs too! Foot stomping good!
Phenomenal food, drinks and staff. We went for our first night out since COVID-19 started, and the restaurant handled things perfectly. Highly recommend the Beef Wellington!
Great as always! Appreciate the committed staff who were very welcoming to the dine in return.
You must try the bread! Also, don’t forget to ask for your special muffin/pastry upon leaving on Friday or Saturday nights... it’s amazing!
Exceeded our expectations: yummy food, polished service and very nice ambiance!!
The food and service could not have been any better. What an amazing experience. Best steak I have ever had in Raleigh.
Lots of empty tables as a result of the Cornanvirus scare, but we had a great time. Food and service were excellent
Place is absolutely gorgeous. Lovely lighting. Outstanding ambiance. Our server Eric was really good-personable, knowledgeable and efficient. Loved him. Our food however was not good, and certainly not for the price. I had Tournedos of beef, and they were cold and undercooked per my request. The frites were good; but so covered with salt and cheese it took away from the dish. Both of my dinner companions had strip steaks, and they were unremarkable. Will not go back. Not worth $300 for 3!
The food and service is amazing, great wine list also. Very impressed. My guest had an amazing steak dish and I had the lobster thermidor and I really hope they never take this off the menu, because it is delicious. Great place, look forward to returning next time in Raleigh!
The food, service and location were excellent. They were very accommodating to one guest that had some dietary restrictions and went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of.
