Oak Steakhouse - Charlotte
Elegantly decorated and clean. Impressed with everything we ate. Would recommend.
Good Steakhouse but not the best in town. Much better choices. Maybe number 4-5 in Charlotte.
Had the beef ravioli as an appetizer and coming from an Italian background, I was thoroughly impressed! The meat, noodle and sauce were decadent! Then had the crab cakes as well as crispy potatoes and I could only eat one crab cake I was so full! The crab cakes were packed with crab, not breading, like most crab cakes! The service was wonderful, only about a 5 min wait (with a reservation) and there was always someone to check on the table! Wonderful experience!
Great service and food! Filets were cooked just as ordered! Brussel sprouts side was wonderful! Will go back!
This is our third time and probably the best time! They must take note from open table and see we are repeats and they also really respect those who are in the industry. They always give an Amuse-bouche before appetizers which is a nice touch! We had the charcuterie board, cup of soup and salad for apps , all yummy! For dinner we split the 16oz ribeye, truffle fries (huge portion and my fav!) and the brussels. Everything was perfect! The first time we visited we thought the steaks were rather under seasoned. However, this time it was perfect! Hats off to the chefs, management, and wait staff there!
Terrific pork chop and risotto. Absolutely only thing was we waited a bit too long after we sat down to get a drink. Everything else was 5 star.
Dinner was excellent! Service was great! Restaurant could be a little loud but we asked for a table in a more secluded area to be away from the bar and people milling about. If you like Del Friscos, Morton’s and Ruth Chris, you will enjoy your dinner here as well.
Always impeccable service and amazing steak. The most consistent restaurant in CLT, IMHO
Super service. Fantastic food!
great service and even better food. good times, we'll be back!
Staff did a nice job!
Arrived a little earlier than reservation and was still seated right away. Staff was friendly and professional, several various individuals came by to check on table throughout dinner. Food arrived fast with the best quality, cooked to perfection. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended for its quiet intimate atmosphere.
Was disappointed that it took 2 hours for 5 people to eat dinner.
Nice restaurant, food was average, service very good. Would recommend and would go back.
First time diner but will definitely be back.
I made a reservation for Sunday January 27 5:30 but actually wanted Saturday January 26, and the waitress on the call was nice about fitting the four of us into a busy night. The service and my waitress Jennifer was the best! We also received free gourmet fries and the were delicious!
We will be back!
Want a steak that tastes a little different? Give Oak a try, excellent meat cook a little different resulting in a different taste. Really exciting cocktail menu prepared by someone that knows cocktails.
We have been there numerous times with no issue. Not the case here. We were sat at 830. We ordered at 850. We did not receive food until 1005. We complained to no avail. Bill wasn’t adjusted whatsoever. Very disappointing. We understand a bad experience, but for the staff to not make it right and make us pay full amount (over $325 for the 4 of us) was wrong.
Friends and I went for restaurant week. We had excellent service and the food was great. We were so stuffed, we could not finish the dessert.
Megan our server was awesome. Dinner was great and a good value with the queens feast menu.
This was our third trip to The Oak Steakhouse--we like it very much and recommend it to friends. Service is inevitably slow. Bar service particularly can take long amounts of time; this results in drinks coming out at the same time as food. We have also waited for our check each time we have dined there. But, the food is terrific! The Oak has the best Oysters Rockefeller in Charlotte--no one else comes close. The beef is always crusty on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. No small feat! We will continue to dine at The Oak and intend to try the bar for Happy Hour.
Went for our anniversary and they made it very special. We loved the food and I thought it was one of the top steaks I’ve had.
We didn't have a very good night at Oak. First, we could not be seated at the time of our reservation. Not too upset about that, it happens, but, things seemed to fall apart once we put our entree order in. It took a LONG time to get our entrees, I would estimate about 50 minutes (keep in mind, it's 9:00 PM by this time). There didn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to why this took so long. I ordered a NY strop medium rare; it arrived basically charred on the outside and actually cold in the very center. To me, this means they probably forgot to put the steak on, and then when we asked about it, threw one on the grill to try and heat it up real quick. To be fair, we were given a free (and delicious) side dish to compensate for the wait, but, overall, I have to say Oak wasn't on top of their game that night.
"Lick the plate clean," writes my Yelp buddy Sam R. She's right (my wife makes my sign a best-to-behave agreement before we dine out so I wouldn't know). Oak Steakhouse did all the right things, and it was during Restaurant Week. Ironically, many places blow this golden opportunity to garner new clientelle. Not here.
Our party of four ordered the Cab Filet Mignon, the catch of the day, and I went for the pork. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderfully. Everyone was happy. My side of three cheese risotto was well balanced and el dente with the pickled vegetables and watercress a refreshing bite of acid cutting through the richness of the entrée. As a bonus they brought us a side of brussel sprouts. A little sweetness with an Asian flair rounded out the offer. Delicious.
Our server, Jennifer, was attentive without being pesty. She handled everything with ease and professionalism. I like that and happy to tip to a higher level.
I think this place will get your motor running. So "give 'em a whirl!" You might even lick your plate clean.
Awesome. Everything was fabulous.
First time to Oak Charlotte but definitely won’t be the last time. Great steak and service!
Arrived at reservations. Front desk failed to checked in for 40 min after reservation then didn't tell the truth. Always problems with reservation timing here - they need to study up on what a "reservation" means. Seriously, 45 minutes wait for my table WITH a reservation. Happens all the time and there were at least 20 (yes, twenty) people waiting for their table too. I took a picture. Amazing. Waitress spilled water all over the table then left me. Wine arrived halfway through the meal. Double charged on my bill (thank goodness I checked). Disaster from start to finish. No apology.
Steak was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the fresh salad as a 1st course. The potatoes were good, but a very small portion. This is a bad look for a good restaurant.
The chocolate cake was average, I expected better. The service was average at best, we didn’t see our server nearly enough.
Great customer service
Perfect night out with friends!
Food was delicious. Server was nice and knowledgeable; his suggestions were great.
Had we known it was restaurant week we would have not gone when we did, as try to avoid that time.
I was totally impressed with the service and evening. The food was excellent (we avoided the restaurant week menu). I would highly recommend Oak, as the staff, ambiance and food selections far exceeded our expectations. Excellent wine selection!
Usually have a great meal at Oak. This time the steak was good right but the char on the outside was too strong leaving a little bit of a burnt taste. Sides were not as good as usual either.
Great Queen’s feast dinner, great value. Emily was exceptional!
Great service and food
Excellent food and service. Sunday night’s special pricing on bottles of wine. The steaks were cooked to perfection.
The olive cake was absolutely delicious. Most enjoyable experience. Highly recommend. The
Great experience. Drinks were fabulous and food very very good. Salads and rolls didn’t have much to say about. Entrees and dessert on the other had, were excellent.
Our server Meghan was outstanding
Very enjoyable evening. Our steaks were outstanding. Also, the GM stopped by for a visit to insure we were satisfied with our meal and all else. We definitely were.
It was restaurant week.. So this was our chance to try a new restaurant. Oak popped up and decided to give this place a try..
Staffs: 5/5 stars. Hostess and our waiter are great..
Food: 3/5 stars. I ordered the 16 oz prime ribeye. There was an additional $15 on top of the $35 set menu. The seasoning of the steak was good..I asked for medium and it came more medium rare. It suppose to come with mashed potatoes and spinach. However, all I had was the steak and a grilled tomato. I didn’t realized it suppose to come with that so I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. And I didn’t like the Mac and cheese. Plenty of lobsters, however, it tasted very bland. There were no salt on the table to change that. So I didn’t finish it. The mashed potato came later and they mentioned that it suppose to be with my steak..
Their butternut squash was good. Very flavorful and have that sweetness.
The winter salad wasn’t good. Didn’t taste like much and it has a bitter aftertaste
Drinks: I have the lime-lemonade with a shot of gin. Which I like a lot. Had 2 of those.
Overall customer service was great. However, I’ll come back to try their regular menu. Wasn’t impressive with the restaurant menu.
Everything was perfect. Quite possibly the best steak I’ve ever had. Would recommend to anyone!!
