Wonderful experience. We eat here every time we travel to Charleston. For best experience request a table in th bar area on the first floor.
Excellent food and service
Amazing! We celebrated our 1 year anniversary. The staff was amazing and our waiting was Knowledgeable on all aspect of the restaurant and made our experience a phenomenal one.
Amazing! First floor has more going on and little bit louder which was the vibe we were looking for. The second and third floor are quieter.
Waitress had 3 extra steaks on our bill
Appetizers came out same time steak
The steaks were amazing. Everything else…..atmosphere, service and venue were ok. I would gladly return for the food.
Celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary with my wife’s sister and brother in law. We were treated very nicely .
We had early reservations and Oak was still very bust. Our server, Andrew, did a re remarkable job even though he was very busy.
Great job Oak !
Great food, service, ambiance. You can’t go wrong if you are want a great steak!
Very loud-we could not talk at our table. Food was over priced. The food was average with the oysters. They tasted old. I will not return.
Every aspect of the dining experience was outstanding
Had anniversary reservations for over a week and they initially tried to seat us right beside the bar which was about 90 decibels. Complained enough until they moved us to a much better location, however, we seemed to have gotten lost in the shuffle. Service was quite slow with long periods between courses. Server eventually apologized for the delay in our main course, explaining the kitchen was backed up. Food was very good but timed very poorly. They did comp a dessert however. VERY expensive restaurant, even for Charleston, and we left with a poor impression of our overall dining experience. Will never go back!
as a long time must do/go-to recommendation, OAK fell woefully short this go round. yes, the current restaurant scene is experiencing some challenges and of course we all need to be gracious and understanding(these people are working, feeding, smiling, and serving you - be kind, tip generously!); however, there are some standards that should never be lowered. the hostesses were kind and welcoming as was seemingly everyone else there - but our server. from the beginning she couldn’t have seemed less interested in what she, herself, had to say, or us. we were there for an anniversary and birthday(our youngest’s). our girls were so put off by her they didn’t speak up about the medium rare burger(ordered well done) or the ravioli (it was very strong, un-eatable for a new palate only just open to eating different foods). she seemed genuinely annoyed the entire time and disappeared once the food showed up. even more annoyed at the end of the meal when she asked how everything was and my husband honestly answered the girls didn’t care for their food. the server pressed and not wanting to make a scene my husband discreetly said the burger was undercooked and the ravioli was very strong - she pushed back and said she didn’t understand, then admitted she hadn’t tried it yet but everyone else loved it and continued to push for more specifics. no one likes to complain and our daughters were already mortified by her aggressive questioning which thankfully ended when she abruptly left muttering we should have told her earlier. well, maybe we would have had she been around. we were fine not to make an issue of it - sometimes food doesn’t suit, no harm no foul, but to pursue the matter when we were not was unnecessary. the steaks were amazing, as were the mashed potatoes and salad, the bathrooms were inexcusably awful; honestly so so bad. a bit stung from the experience, we won’t be back for awhile(and won’t recommend), but hope our next trip is more in line with OAKs reputation.
It was so so, the best part of the meal was the friendly host seating us, service was slow, I get we are short staffed, but I don’t think I would go back.
Amazing food and wait staff. Chef and all around meal and a the very best of all Charleston!!
OUR ENTIRE EXPERIENCE AT OAK LAST NIGHT WAS OUTSTANDING. FROM THE MINUTE WE WALKED IN UNTIL WE LEFT WAS SO PLEASANT. BRODY WAS KIND AND KNOWLEDGABLE AND ALWAYS AVAILABLE. CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK. THANKS. HOST WAS AMAZING WHEN SOMEONE BROKE A GLASS AT THE BAR. HE JUST SWEEPED IN AND GOT IT DONE
Fantastic as usual! The service is always spot on and dinner is always delicious!
Waiter was amazing and made the dinner.
Had dinner with a group of 4. Our server was awesome and made the meal fun and enjoyable in everyday. The food was superb. I had the mixed grill which consisted of filet, ribeye, and lamb. All were cooked to perfection. I sampled a friends 65 day dry aged ribeye. It was fantastic. Our apps and dessert were keeping with the quality of the mains. Absolutely recommend
Oak Steakhouse is a fantastic spot for a quiet, outstanding meal. We've been multiple times and have enjoyed it each time. Great food, service and setting.
Never got our food. Supposed to be on p a r with Halls. No way no how. Was an awful experience. Will not return. After waiting all that time, we were told they were understaffed.
Had a wonderful time! Service and food was delicious!! We will be back.
Couldn’t have been better as always. Get Dave on the Mezzanine if possible.
A bit slow to get the entree out but overall great experience
Excellent food and service. Cost is on the high side. Very nice atmosphere for dinner.
Nice for special occasions.
We were early, but seated shortly after arrival. Servers were prompt, polite and the food and drinks were outstanding. Highly recommend a visit.
Has to be a better way to manage the noise! Good food and service are easily ruined by the noisy bar scene downstairs. We have come to expect it, but wish that wasn't the case. Always a favorite!
We went for our Anniversary! Every bit was amazing.
Went for my wife’s birthday and everything was great.
Food and service were outstanding however a group of middle aged men who had been drinking were seated next to our table. I made reservations 2 months ago to entertain out of town friends and the group of men didn’t have reservations. They were extremely loud, obnoxious and disturbing all patrons on the 3rd floor. Service staff and management need to do something if this happens again. I consider Oak Steakhouse a high end steakhouse for Charleston and not a sports bar. Will visit Oak Steakhouse locations in future food & table service was great but this experience was not good.
Best restaurant that we visited in Charleston. The food was outstanding!!! The Mixed Grill was extremely flavorful and lobster Mac and Cheese was very delectable as well. Larger portions compared to other restaurants also.
Our waiter was excellent! Food delicious. Our only complaint was, we arrived about 7- 10 minutes before 5:00 pm our reservation was at 5:00. The young hostess at the front informed us they weren't ready to open; come back at 5:00. We left, it was raining, came back at 5:00;they still weren't ready; we asked to at least stay inside & sit at bar, this time they let us until table was ready.
In retrospect, celebrating my wife’s birthday with you was “okay”, but not up to the level of service expected as with my earlier experiences. Our waitress, Ann, who is apparently “new”, failed to present us with a gifted bottle of wine until I asked and had already ordered cocktails. Secondly, the buttery glaze that was ordered on our 16oz ribeye was completely left off, and diminished its flavor considerably. My tip reflected her “weak points” and my note highlighted specifics. Bottom line…for $140+, I expected better. Jim Smith Charleston..,843-327-3251
The birthday dinner for my husband was grand! Andrew, our server, made the evening perfect. We always enjoy dining at Oak and all Indigo Road restaurants, but last night was particularly special. Thank you!
A fabulous meal with attentive service.
Everything was delicious from the beef carpaccio,
Filets, scallops all the way to amazing peanut butter pie and chocolate cake. This is a MUST during a Charleston stay!
There is no better dining experience in all of Charleston. Go, go often.
Steak was impossible cut or chew - aged beef that was terrible. Eaten there before with good meat but this was a major disappointment
I’ve been here before in the past
Excellent service and food. A little pricey, and all separate pricing.
Best of everything every time.
Made our Anniversary special!
