Great service from Adam, excellent wine list, excellent deserts
Very nice dinner.
Good steak, prices have really gone up. Super slow.
Very good food. The sides are amazing. Steak was very good but not the best I've had. Service was excellent. Restaurant is small. We sat right next to the bar and it was pretty loud. Atmosphere could be better.
Anniversary dinner. My steak was one of the top 5 I’ve ever had!
Excited for our anniversary night out at Oak. Seated immediately. Unfortunately, our table for 2 was sandwiched between 2 - 10 top tables. We quickly asked our server Rob if we could move. He was quick to find a quiet table for us in a corner. The rest of the evening was perfect. The food was delicious. Rob, our server, was excellent. The chocolate anniversary cake was a wonderful take home treat!
The service, food and atmosphere were excellent! We had a fantastic time.
Ravioli was not as good as the last time. The wait for the meal was a bit longer than usual.
Lovely in every way. Steak (filet) was perfect and flavorful. The Bernaise and BBQ sauces were the perfect compliment. The sides were each delicious, the service was wonderful (Adam) and the beautifully restored venue was picture worthy. It was my birthday and I enjoyed every moment.
Very good Cowboy ribeye!
Food was wonderful and very unique. The waiter and Lo of the extra help were extremely nice, kind and thoughtful. Really felt like they cared. Wonderful experience.
One of our favorite dining destinations when in Charleston.
We enjoyed everything -- salad, steaks, sides, cocktails, wine. A memorable meal and a "must return." So many tempting items to choose from on the menu, and an extensive wine list. Our server (Dave) was terrific, and shared his knowledge of the history of Oak Steakhouse. All in all a very special evening! HIGHLY recommended.
Birthday celebration! Excellent service , food and ambience. Happy we were on the 3rd floor, lower floors a bit too crowded and noisy for our taste. Would go back again!
Oak is clearly understaffed. While our waiter tried his best, service was disappointingly slow.
Food was fantastic. Staff waa great. We sat at a lovely table on the third floor dining room. Very quiet which was terrific. Steak and lobster tail were both delicious. Server was fun and attentive. Will definitely return when in the area.
This was a fantastic way to spend Thanksgiving while visiting Charleston. While we did not have steak, the Thanksgiving price-fixe was perfect from the beginning to desert. We will have to come back to try the steaks!
I hope everyone is as lucky as we were and can get Joel as your server. He really had my back with my food allergies and helped make sure I had options that were delicious and safe for me. The food was amazing! And we loved the ambience.
Server and food were amazing. The hostess might have been having an off day. We felt like we were an inconvenience.
Food options and quality were excellent. Overall one of the best dining experiences.
Fabulous table fabulous professional service incredible good cocktail (which I find unusual in Charleston because they give you teeny, weak cocktails with tons of ice everywhere else)
Food was amazing you have to have the oysters Rockefeller!
It's at the top of our list in Charleston. And we've been everywhere
Great meal and service.
One of the best meals we’ve ever had. Our server was amazing as well! Highly recommend!
I asked for quiet table on main floor for business discussion and got booth next to front door. Lovely. Was told by server immediately when we sat down we have tp leave table by 830pm for next customers. I have never had that happen ever. I ordered strip rare plus and my steak was almost impossible to cut.
Delicious oysters and steak and tremendous service! Great spot on a booth by the bar. Avoid the upstairs as there is little vibe in comparison!
Although the food was good, I think it was overpriced. I had the Cowboy Ribeye and by no means was it a $99 steak. I’ve had better for a lot less. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. We were also next to a loud obnoxious table where they have obviously been drinking. It took away from the experience for me. The building and atmosphere was nice. I understand it’s a touristy area but for a restaurant that expensive they should have some sort of dress code. Probably will not return
fantastic as always. Its been at least a year since my last visit and it was on spot again.
My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Oak Steakhouse and it was marvelous! The food was delicious, the ambiance was lively and fun, and the location was lovely. This is a great place for fun and romantic dinner with really great food.
As always, great service and the food is the best in town. This is our go to anniversary spot and will continue being so. Highly recommend!
Would not come back. Overpriced. Can get better food in home town. Not as good as waiter claimed it to be. We are from Raleigh, NC.
Dinner was superb, though the service was slow. My party of three went through an entire bottle if wine before any food was served.
Fantastic food and wine with an exceptional server. The location on Broad is a quiet alternative to the busy King St restaurants.
Service was outstanding.
The steaks were cooked perfectly. Perfect anniversary dinner!
So we showed up early for our reservation to have a drink at the bar. We waited patiently for a spot at the bar. Two other people got up and we went to sit down and were told NO because those seats are reserved since when do you reserve seats at the bar? Well the bar manage said “they use to work here for 6 years so we did it for them” so I bring it up to the manager (gray headed old man) and he said it’s the bar manger’s right to do so. The manager had no reaction and walked off. He never even said I’m sorry it show any empathy at all.
Filet Mignon, Scallops and bacon Mac n cheese was sooo good! We will be back! We loved the old building and soft lighting, perfect for a downtown restaurant!
Food and atmosphere was amazing! Definitely recommend visiting this place!
Steaks were cooked, temperature wise, as ordered. The noise level was way too loud to enjoy the meal however and it wasn’t even a busy night.
Celebrated our 50th anniversary with dinner at Oak Steakhouse. Filet’s we’re perfectly seasoned and cooked to specifications. We’re talking melt in your mouth savory bites. Our sides were onion straws, a nice salty complement to the steaks and asparagus spears. We skipped appetizers and salads to save room for dessert, which were complementary because of our anniversary. My chocolate peanut butter pie was extraordinary and my wife’s creme brûlée was very good. Our service was excellent. We were seated in a small alcove (room for a table for two) on the third floor overlooking the stairs. It provided a modicum of privacy and separated us from the din of the main dinning area. We appreciated that our waiter understood that this dinner was special for us and treated us accordingly. All in all a nice experience and well worth the money.
We always enjoy our neighborhood testaurant
