Large party next to me and the noise vibrated within the walls. Also, there was a special topping for the steak not on the menu; I expected it to be around the cost of the other toppings....however it was $35! For a steak topping!
Easter lunch. Chose the brunch menu. Tenderloin and eggs was great. Lobster fritata was very tasty. Super drink selection. Great wait staff.
Overall, the food and service here were outstanding. The steak was easily in the top five I've ever had. The side items and appetizers were also top rate as well. I think that the only reason that I didn't give this dining experience five stars overall is because the table we sat in had some unique acoustics that made it particularly noisy. I would definitely eat here again. Hope, fully at a different table.
The whole experience was great. Food was great. Service was great. It was loud. But, we knew that going there. It got very warm and the opening of the door cooled the place. Which was nice until loud diesel truck pulled up. He jumped out and left it running. It was very loud. The diesel smell came right up to where we were eating. Despite that one What the heck moment, we still enjoyed our meal and visit.
This is the best steakhouse in the US hands down. Jeremiah is the best in the business.
Everything was just OK. For an upscale steak house, I expected more.
Food prepared very much to my satisfaction.
Service was very attentive with good recommendations from our server. God was excellent - from salad to sides to steak (cooked perfectly) to dessert.
I really enjoyed Oak Steakhouse. The food and atmosphere was excellent.
Food and service was great. Only complaint is the noise level upstairs is rather loud. Manager I spoke to on our way out said it’s being addressed.
Our waiter was excellent. We ordered two sides , one of which was all right but not excellent. We said nothing but the waiter noticed that we did not eat much of it. He on his own removed it from the bill. That impressed me.
Great service, wonderful food. If I had to find one thing negative it would be the noise level. Otherwise a wonderful place to dine.
This was a very special experience. The service was outstanding. Our server, Wilam, was engaging and provided the best service in our 20 years of dining in Charleston. He was so good - we ended up buying the most expensive bottle of wine we ever bought in our lives.
We had to take an early table, so the restaurant was not at all full. I will plan to always go early in the future - it was so enjoyable.
The food was wonderful, too.
Kudos to Oak!
Incredible service. Incredible food. We come every time we visit Charleston
We had oysters rockafeller, beef belly and the fois gras for starters. Bone in filet special, crab cakes and brussels and cauliflower for mains. The steak was unreal, crispy charred outside but perfect medium rare pink/red like butter. Rob took exceptional care of us, had an answer for any question we had but did so without being stuffy. This place is the epotime of fine dinning without any pretentiousness.
Everything about this restaurant was top quality would definitely come back. Food did take a very long time to come to table, that would honestly be the only my only complaint. but once there everything was delicious. I don’t like Brussels sprouts, but a friend ordered some and the way they were prepared was out of this world. The service was excellent. Streak was so delicious it melt in your house. One of the off menu specials was the sword fish. Another of my friends got, but got a bite also so absolutely delicious. My friend said it was the best sword fish she ever had, and we are from Myrtle beach. The size were enough for everyone to share for a table. And the lemon berry cheesecake was divine. The perfect sweetness to end the night.
My wife and I have gone to Oak for years, primarily for major celebrations. It's a given that the food and drink are wonderful. But the service is extraordinary! You couldn't ask for better.
For our latest visit, I'd like to give a tip of my hat specifically to Brodie! His recommendations were phenomenal, and his service and rapport were exceptional.
Wonderful!! Only negative was the noise level. Unfortunately, there was a very loud, obnoxious college student at a table near us.
Excellent dinner. Great end to a great day.
I have been to several restaurants in my life, but this place was the best place I’ve ever been too! Took my wife for our one year anniversary and they had a note on the table congratulating us and even gave us a free dessert. Robert was our server and was funny and very personable! Would go back again anytime!
Our table was ready immediately on our arrival. Service was outstanding and it was obvious everyone considered it “their job” to make our experience exceptional. The meal was perfect! Our anniversary celebration could not have been more enjoyable.
Mostly positive, but the steak was pricey for the quality.
Fantastic, as always! Well done.
The food was incredible. Best Oysters Rockefeller I have ever had. Great sommelier. Go.
The steak was one of the finest I have ever eaten. We were in a quiet corner table and our waiter, who happened to be from our home state was very attentive. It was a great dining experience and I would heartily recommend dining here.
We visit Charleston often but this was our first visit to Oak Steakhouse. It is a Tri-level restaurant with the 1st floor by the window and bar so I was glad that my wife and I were seated on the 2nd floor overflowing the lower level and a few of the outside street. Service was impeccable. Food was very good. My only complaint was that my tomato and mozzarella salad had hardly any tomatoes. When I brought this to the attention of our server he apologized and took it off the bill. What was even more impressive was a call back the next day. I assumed I had left something at the restaurant but they were calling to say thank you and ask if we had any other feedback. We have used Oak Table and dined around the world and this is the first time that any establishment ever did a follow up call. Quite impressive. We will definitely make it one is our Charleston regulars. HB
First time to Oaks but not the last. The food and service was awesome.
We love this place! They always remember us and do an amazing job of taking care of us. We’ve been to some of the top steak houses in several cities and none come close to The Oak!
I LOVE Oak! We have been several times now and have yet to have an even remotely bad experience. The staff is amazing and helpful and the food is OMG! My wife is quite picky with her filets and she is always pleased. Which is saying something. I def recommend!
Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner!
Truly one of the best restaurants, in my opinion, in Charleston! Incredible food with great service. Can’t wait to dine there again.
Celebrating My retirement cruise up the east coast
We had a late reservation and ended up having the entire 3 rd floor to ourseleves. Our server was awesome. The soft shell crab special, oysters rockerfeller and steaks were incredible. All dishes were seasoned and cooked to exact request. Thanks for a great evening.
Tried this place first time .
Could barely see menu or food - it’s very very dark.
Steaks great . Caesar salad /house salad less than average . Service good but very slow. Vegetarian dish tasted like salt and butter- it was awful. Would rather spend $350 at Halls. Wonderful ambiance , kinda loud after a while . Probably won’t go back .
Service, food, the whole experience was worth it. Have eaten at the Nashville Oak Steakhouse and 1st time in Charleston and didn’t disappoint as usual. Highly recommend for a great steak and drinks.
The steaks were the best I’ve had anywhere in recent months, and the service was attentive and perfect. The best part of the meal? The peanut butter mousse pie with Oreo cookie crust and chocolate ganache topping! Wish I lived in Charleston!
It was pretty good, but I told the waiter how I wanted my steak well done. We even discussed it. My steak came out rare, and he said I didn’t say how I wanted it. He disappeared a lot. The restaurant was extremely loud.😰 we did have a nice time, in spite of these problems. The waiter was actually fairly nice. We were given dessert for my birthday! Thanks!
The server Robert didnt even tell us his name. He kept disappearing. It appeared he was trying to juggle to much. We waited for 45 minutes for an appetizer and salad. And two hours for our main meal. It sure wasnt the “Halls” dining experience we are use to.
Oysters Rockefeller were fantastic. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Crab cakes were delicious. Love this place, 3rd floor was beautiful. Didn't know they had a 3rd floor until tonight.
While it was very good, there are other options in town that are not quite as expensive. Overall, though we had an enjoyable evening.
