Three of us had dinner at Oak Haven after attending a show at the Shubert. Appetizers were mussels and bao and they were both perfectly presented and delicious. Main courses were Duck Carbonara, the farm burger and Striped Bass. All three were wonderful and the striped bass was melt-in-your mouth perfection. Ice-box cake was the perfect dessert: old fashioned and original at the same time.
Friendly and attentive servers and the Chef (Jack) came to our table to greet us and check on our meals--nice personal touch!
Food/drinks/ambiance were amazing. Felt a little rushed at the end by the server when we were finishing our drinks snd deciding about dessert. Overall great experience
Service was good. Food ok, but not on par with the pricing. Just not a great value
Service was spotty (food for the entire table came in waves over 5 minutes and coffee, ordered at the beginning, wasn’t brought until the end of brunch) and food was acceptable but not amazing. Drinks were the star.
Was a great meal over all. The appetizer was extremely delicious. It was the arrincini (sp). The main meal was also really good. I had the pork, which was spot on. My wife had the steak. We asked for it medium rare, but it came out more medium. Still very good. The service was top notch as was the ambiance. Highly recommend.
Service was trash. They are not minority friendly here. This comment is directed towards the 2 white bartenders.
Best little place on State St. The bar offers the best of mixed drinks! Altough a limited menu, the food is terrific.
Overall it was alright here. The drinks were pretty good and the food. The ambiance was very low lit dim and bar area was nice. I didn’t like the two seater high tops very uncomfortable seats and no space to spread out and relax. I know it’s not a big place and seating is limited. The food was pretty salty to be honest but I was hungry. Probably won’t be back but was nice to check it out.
Food is amazing, staff is amazing, 10/10 and so happy we are walking distance of this restaurant!
Fabulous food and our waiter, Allie, was great. Can’t wait to go back!
We went for brunch. When we entered they were playing music very loud with extreme profanity. When we asked them to turn it down the server seemed out out. Truly I do not leave negative reviews but the service was very bad - poor attitudes and all just seemed angry to be working. The place has lots of potential and the food was generally good. Not sure we will go back with so many great options in New Haven.
Waiter /host refused to let us combine tables for large party (four adults/3 kids) with children saying they were "fully booked" however the restaurant was completely empty for the entire meal. The staff was rude the entire time and did not make us feel welcomed.
Everything was delicious and innovative. Our server was great and the inside decor is really cute and cozy. I only have one complaint. The bone marrow was undercooked and it was disgusting! It was cold in the middle. I’ve had bone marrow before and it didn’t taste like this. I would go back to this restaurant. I just would never order that bone marrow again.
What an absolute Gem of a restaurant in new haven. Fantastic whiskey selection and the mussels were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I also had fresh oysters and pasta and clams in an amazing broth. Sarah had Chilean Sea Bass. One of the best parts of the night… fantastic staff all superstars in my book. bRaVo!!!
Great service, delish food and top notch staff!
Great Summer night at Oak Haven- outdoor table; prompt service-- AMAZING drinks-- must get the Spanish Dove and Truman Show again soon- and want to try others. Shared a few different dishes- bone marrow (always wanted to try it-- smooth like butter but not for everyone); arancini was nice and crispy outside; mussels were great but our favorite dish was the bao-- asian inspired pulled pork with kimchi and seaweed salad-- will defintely be back.
Oak Haven always has unique options on the menu and servers never disappoint with their recommendations!
We were delighted by the amazing cocktails and the helpful waiter who explained the options for the best gin/tonic ever! Food was great also.
Always a standout, perfect for a date or casual meet: exceptional cocktails.
Great as always.
I had the cheese board app and the risotto for dinner. They were both AMAZING!!! I highly suggest you try the watermelon, lime, vodka drink on their drink menu.
Atmosphere was casual, laidback and relaxing. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. Nice variety to choose from the menu and everything that we chose was fantastic! Would recommend trying it out. Our table all agreed that we will be back.
The restaurant’s drinks, food, and service were outstanding. I have been to Oakhaven several times, but this was the first for my girlfriend. She was ecstatic after her experience. We will definitely visit again.
Great day for brunch outside ! Food was delicious and the service was awesome !
Great service and excellent food! Cozy and lively atmosphere
This is a lovely spot for brunch with friends. The cocktails are excellent!! Food was mostly good to great, depending on what was ordered. Service was a little slow but it was a holiday weekend and the restaurant may have been busier than usual. All in all, happy to go back!
Great service, quality cuisine, and beautiful atmosphere! Highly recommended trying the blueberry pancakes 🥞 😊 🥞
Buck-a-shuck Tuesday! Very good food. Nice cocktails.
Amazing experience! Server and other staff were welcoming and helpful. Food was incredible!!
We sat outside so it was a bit loud with cars and foot traffic, but the food was great and our drinks were fantastic. Will definitely come back here!
Amazing! Cant wait to return!
Every time I go to Oak Haven, I'm glad I don't live super-close because I would spend all my time and money there!
The bone marrow, especially, was fantastic -- like, "eyes rolling back in your head" yum. The bao was the perfect balance of savory pork and salty seaside acidity. The oysters were divine (as always).
We sat outside, so it was a wee bit chilly but the drinks kept us warm. Service was excellent -- they are always okay with us ordering as we go along.
Went for Mother’s Day brunch
We had a lot of fun, while sharing yummy dishes
Hi. Went here for the first time for Mother’s Day brunch. The food was tasty. They took us to our table right away which was fantastic!!
An Amazing BRUNCH! We are frequenters at OHTB for dinner but this was our first brunch! My Mother's Day couldn't have been better!!
Our Waiter Coco was terrific! Friendly, personable and easy to talk with. Just like when we chat with Craig and Al.
The bottomless mimosa's were delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice. My husband had the bloody Marys which had a great "kick" to it.
We ordered the banana bread waffle, cheesy grits and OHTB Hash for the table. The waffle is the best I had in quite sometime. Crispy outside and tender on the inside with whipped butter and warm maple syrup. The grits were cheesy goodness and the hash was crispy with peppers onions and pulled pork. Just amazing.
My husband and daughter had the Breakfast Sammie and I had the crab Benedict! I highly recommend it if you love crab cakes. It was ALL crab with little binder. 2 huge crab cakes atop an English muffin with poached eggs and hollandaise. I was stuffed but still left room for the beignets. They were mint chocolate! Besides the coconut which are my all time favorite there, these came in as a tight second. A thoughtful treat from the owners for the table.
If you haven't been for dinner or brunch it's a must. Make reservations to secure a table inside or out and TRUST ME, you will not be disappointed! Thanks for another outstanding meal.
I went to Oak Haven for Mothers Day Brunch and it was excellent. The service was exceptional: courteous and attentive but not pushy. We had Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Risotto and Shrimp and Grits. All of the food was perfectly prepared, plated and portioned. The peach mimosa's were flavorful and refreshing. Atmosphere was cozy and the staff was upbeat and friendly. Chef Jack did an amazing job in recommending and preparing our dishes. I look forward to my next visit to Oak Haven.
The crab cakes with sauce
Weird cocktail (#1)
Dry bread pudding
Would I go again? Eventually.
just go for brunch - reasonably priced bottomless, great service, great food. another east rock treasure, I will be back for sure.
Brunch was delicious! I had the Bourbon french toast and my friend had the breakfast risotto, both amazing!
We went for brunch. The food was delicious and the drinks were well made.
