O-Ku is one of my favorite places to dine in DC and that’s why I keep coming back! Not only is the food ALWAYS spectacular, the staff goes above and beyond to make every special occasion even more special. Absolutely beautiful space too.

I had first dined at O-Ku back in 2023 and had a blast. Ordered a bit of everything to try it out and absolutely loved it. Last week I was headed to DC from Raleigh, NC, so immediately made a reservation to go back to O-Ku. Unfortunately, I was severely disappointed this second time. First of all, they took us to the very last table at the end of the second floor, when there were other tables available. At first we didn’t mind because we wanted to have a nice setting to enjoy our meal. However, we started to get less service as time passed. Secondly, our food took an hour to get to our table. We had the Kobe Style Nigiri, the Sake Nigiri, some Hamachi Sashimi and the Surf & Turf Roll. The Nigiris were very good as well as the Hamachi. The Surf & Turf Roll didn’t have the wagyu properly torched, so it was mostly raw (different from the Kobe Style Nigiri, which was properly torched). Third, we ordered the Nigiris/Sashimis and the Roll as something to begin with and have the opportunity explore other dishes. Unfortunately, those smaller plates took so long that by the time they got to our table, we had lost appetite. Our waitress was good and payed fair attention to us. However, the waiting time and food quality made it a very disappointing experience for our night out in DC.

I have dined here approximately 10 times and each time has been a wonderful and unique experience. The staff is attentive and the food is delicious! A definite 10 out of 10!

The food at O-Ku was delicious, but we were seated at the far end of the sushi counter and our server was rarely in our area checking on guests. It felt like we had to flag her down, or tell one of the other staff if they could let her know we wanted to order more.

Went here for an anniversary dinner and the food and service were incredible. Our favorites were the sticky ribs, rock shrimp, truffle edamame, and Mt. Fuji roll. Our waiter was wonderful and threw in an extra appetizer and champagne for the occasion! Would absolutely recommend and return.
