Nuovo Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We love that the owner recommends the most amazing wine to go with our dinner choice. And, they accommodate dairy allergies! The food is incredible. We went fairly early on a Friday evening this time, but always feel so very accommodated! Love and appreciate this restaurant every time we go!
They only had one bartender working on Valentine’s Day so while we were waiting for our reservation it took a very long time to get a drink. The setting was nice but the wine list is over priced for low end wines. The food was not good, I ordered the shrimp scampi and it tasted like chicken noodle soup with shrimp on top.
Overall great experience. Food was excellent, prices were a little less than what was expected. Only complaints are that the restaraunt is very "cozy", It's definitely a small dining area so the area can get loud. Wouldn't reccomend this place as great for a date because it'll feel like you're yelling at times so that your date could hear you. My other complaint was that the waitress forgot some things. She remembered when she came back to the table, but it did happen a couple of times. Wine selection was great, they have a full bar, and I didn't really look at the beer list. All in all, this is definitely a place worth checking out and I'm sure I'd go back again.
Good service, nice and clean, with a nice crowd. Valet parking in front was not attended (it was busy), so that made it challenging because I had to park at a lot down the street. Apps were on the smaller size, and the bruschetta bread was not toasted and crispy, nor were the croutons on the Caesar salad. Lots of lobster on the Lob Mac - that was a hit with the group. The four of us had entrees, 2 apps, and 4 beers the and bill came to just over $200. Oh yeah, we all left with enough leftovers for an additional meal at home;)
This was my first time eating at Nuovo. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. The food was good but not great. Had after dinner cocktails at the bar after dinner, listened to the live music. The cocktails, music, ambiance at the bar was very good. Bartender, Chef and wait staff very friendly.
Went on a Saturday for lunch. We were the first customers of the day so we got PLENTY of attention from our server. Even after a large group came in, we never felt ignored or abandoned. In fact, when our food was ready the chef himself brought it to our table!
We all enjoyed our meals: Mahi mahi, Eggplant parm and my Veal parm. All the portions were generous - or at least commensurate with their respective price. The side salads that came with were crisp and delicious with quality ingredients, and even the rolls were great!
The Tiramisu was exquisite: I had given up ordering it in places that I was visiting for the first time, but in this case was very glad to have had the chance to taste it. Texture and flavor were both on point!
We cannot wait to go back to Nuovo and try more menu items! Highly recommended!
Six people (3 couples) went for New Year's Eve. All of us loved our meals that were ordered right off the regular menu. It's not often that you go 6 for 6 at a table! Great job! In addition, I wear hearing aids and often have difficulty hearing in loud, noisy restaurants. Not so at Nuovo! It wasn't quiet, but moderate. I could hear fine! Love it! We have dined here before, and we will definitely be back.
Wonderful food! Excellent service. They take very good care of you here. The musician they have playing on the weekends is great and lends to a festive atmosphere. the food though is the real selling point - they have both traditional options and some nice updates as well. The filet special is always excellent with a tender cut of beef in a delightful sauce the chef creates. Wine list is thorough with good price points. If you want a friendly atmosphere, don't hesitate to choose Nuovo.
On a whim we made a reservation with short notice. Our table was great. We were seated quickly. All the staff was helpful and friendly.
Our waitress made a mistake by dropping something and to her credit, apologized and rectified the problem immediately. Everyone makes mistakes. How we handle ourselves at that moment it a test of character! She handled herself very well!!
Otherwise the food was excellent!
We will be back.
We dined here for NYE. The restaurant was cold due to the frigid temps outside and lack of shielding by the entrance. The smaller tables are close together so it lacked an intimate feel. It was a very busy night with a large party going on upstairs. The food was very good and the menu is large. We especially liked the mussels appetizer. Very good salads and bread. We got a stuffed haddock special which was also good but the sauce was a little too rich. Our server was very attentive. We will return.
Too many Up charges!! Salad comes with meal. But Cesar is $4 upcharge. Add anchovies for another $1. This would be fine if it were a decent sized Cesar. But it was six pieces of dry romaine lettuce. With two pea sized croutons. Server started off good. We ordered 4 apps for 6 people. 6 meals and 3 deserts. 3 glasses of wine and 1 beer. Pregnant woman didn't drink, neither did our driver. Typical server, once they realize we are not a bunch of drunks, the service goes down hill so fast! Too bad. We are still good tippers. Food was tasty enough. Portions were average sized. Good not fantastic.
Not our first time here but may be our last; for a while at least. Our server, while very nice, was not as good as she should have been; she forgot the add on for one of our entrees (not remembering until she served the pasta plate without the add on), removed the rolls before we were done with them and was overly "attentive" which adversely affected the flow of conversation.
We found it interesting that the specials for the evening were all priced at the same $35 whether for the twin filets or the pasta dish??? Perhaps our server got that wrong as well. Generally, the prices are on the high side overall.
I had forgotten that the tomato sauce has a sweetness to it which is never to my liking and should have stayed away from it but, alas, I did not making my veal parm entree less desirable.
So many good restaurants in this area with more being added all the time. Time to give Nuovo a rest until, perhaps, some changes are made.
