    Being from out of town we were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant in a renovated bank. The reuse of the space added to the overall dining experience which was great considering we had just driven for five hours to get to Utica. Our service was unhurried which allowed us to unwind from the drive. The wine selection was thoughtful and included a unique selection of Italian (we chose a rose sparkler and dry lambrusco - which was really dry and very refreshing to start) and the other choices only added to the dining experience. Food portions were more than sufficient. For starters, we shared the arugula salad and burrata caprese with pesto. Both very good. For our main we had pasta. I should note that being gluten free, their gluten free pasta and preparation was excellent as was my wife's regular pasta dish. Unfortunately, we could not fit any dessert except a glass of Nonino amaro and coffee and espresso. Definitely looking forward to getting back to try an entree and dessert. Thanks for a very nice dinner. John

    This was our first time since they did away with the Arsenale special. We had 5 pm reservations and the service was exceptionally slow. We ordered 3 drinks , 2 came at the same time our daughters came later. Our appetizers were good but the white truffle bread was not as good as usual and for $19.00 that’s disappointing. Our dinner arrived we ordered the ribeye with crispy potatoes and not the truffle fries and our daughter ordered the chicken. Our ribeye arrived with truffle fries and our daughters entree was the mussels that she didn’t order. We finished our ribeye before our crispy potatoes arrived and our daughters chicken didn’t arrive until we had finished dinner. The ribeye was excellent ( the crispy potatoes were exceptionally greasy). When our bill arrived we were charged for the mussels we didn’t order and the crispy potatoes that were to be our dinner side. In fairness, the manager removed the charges and comped our daughters chicken. For $200.00 though, they really need to get the service issue resolved. The table next to us left prior to their meals even arriving. It’s a great spot but they need to focus on the service side or sadly diners won’t return

    We typically dine at Nostros at least once per month. It never disappoints. We decided on this venue for a family meeting come business discussion. Very enjoyable.

    We sat at the bar which gave us an extra chance to pick the bartenders brain about whiskey. It was fun! I highly recommend this place!

    Upon making the reservation I was asked if there was a special occasion. I said, yes, a birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted with a happy birthday. But don't expect any special desert or anything. It ends with a happy birthday. The menu seems to be written for New York City patrons. The food we ordered was okay. The veal meatballs really lackluster. The sauce would give SpaghettiOs a run for the money. Very similar to chef boyardee. The brussel sprouts and greens are good. The prices are a little upscale for Utica. The atmosphere is not inviting partly due to the high ceiling. We have no plans to return.

    Food was very good. Nice venue. Service was poor, not sure if anyone knew who was supposed to be waiting on us. Had to ask someone to check on our dinner. No one asked if I wanted a 2nd drink. No one asked if we wanted dessert. Would visit again because I enjoyed the space and the food was good and to give wait staff a second chance.

    Food was terrific but service was awful. Apps came out quickly but then had to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes for the entrees. During that time the server never came over to the table to take away the dishes, ask if we needed more water or drinks or apologize for the delay. We ordered wine and were given the glasses but never received the wine. I literally had to waive my arms in the air to get her to engage with us. Meanwhile, every table around us was being attended to. We were told that the kitchen was backed up, yet somehow the people at the table next to us, who didn't even sit down until we had ordered, had already paid their bill and gotten to-go boxes before our entrees even arrived. The food was delicious but we had to shovel it into our mouths in ten minutes in order make our show. Would maybe go again if it were a weeknight and had no plans for afterward, because the food really was excellent, but on the weekend, definitely would not recommend unless you have three hours to spare.

    We very much enjoy this restaurant. Food is always very good and reasonably priced and we love sharing our selections with others at the table. Nice wine menu too. We were there on a very busy Saturday night so a little noisy and staff got a little overwhelmed so there was a delay clearing our table and getting the check. We were with friends and enjoying our time together so the extra wait wasn’t too bad. Would definitely recommend and suggest making reservations for weekend nights.

    The hostess greeted us promptly and was able to seat us immediately. The waitress was friendly and able to help us make decisions as it was our first time there. The food and drinks were all excellent. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as I wanted. The food is made to order but they were able to keep wait times down. Very impressed with Nostro.

    We had a reservation but still had to wait about 30 minutes. Disappointed they didn’t do the arsenal anymore. Our waitress was good and the food was good but not good enough for the price. Drinks however were excellent!

    Crispy Garlic Brussels Sprouts and Rigatoni al Tre Funghi were too salty. My dish Branzino was very dry and grilled too long that it was almost not edible. I understand that the restaurant was very busy. Still, the waitress did not give enough attention to tables. After ordering the dishes, we wanted to order some wine, but the waitress never stopped by or gave no attention while she served neighbor tables. To catch her attention, I had to find her or focus to catch her for a long time. After ordering wine, 5-10 minutes later, the waitress came back and asked what we ordered because she forgot. Then the wine was not served until after the main dishes were served.

    We came for my boyfriends birthday and made a 545 reservation. When we arrived we were so excited to sit in the beautiful dining room with high ceilings and pretty views of the wall. The hostess proceeded to walk us to the very back of the restaurant into a dark corner near the kitchen door, past dozens of open tables. We weren’t happy and when we expressed this they moved us immediately back to the center of the dining room where we enjoyed a very good meal. Highly recommend the white truffle cheese bread. Great experience after the whole table thing was sorted out!

    This is one of Utica's most upscale and most delicious restaurants. We have eaten at Nostro 3 or 4 times now and we have been astonished each time--the food is that good and the ambiance is distinctive and fun.

    We had a great experience overall. Our food was delicious, but service was a little behind. It was very busy, but it did take a while between courses. Despite the slower service, we really enjoyed our meals and will be back!

    Food and drinks were excellent, but the high point of the evening was our waitress Kayla. She was attentive, but not overly so. Her smiling personality and kindness made the even more fun. She was well versed in the menus and her suggestions for drinks and food were spot on. My husband said his branzino was the best fish he ever had. Will definitely return.

    Food and service was great....noise level too much. It was hard for our party of four to hear and talk with each other. Music too loud.....there was a very loud table of people near us but in the pauses between the music the noise was tolerable...with music , not really.

    We've been there many times & have always enjoyed. This was the first time that service was not good. They usually are always very helpful & available. The duck was good, a little tough. 2 people in the party had the chicken parmesan. They said it was just okay. Hopefully this visit was an anomaly.

    Did not like that ANY dishes could not be modified to accommodate requests as was told by waitress. Also- asked to add protein to our pasta dishes and was not allowed to buy any protein option as a side. Found that strange. Seems as every restaurant you can add chicken or shrimp or something for additional charge. Drinks, apps, and dessert were good. Meals not so much. Pesto dish was awful! Tried by 4 people and not one likes it. Made our Fun with company. Prob won’t be back. This was second time in a few years for all of us. Not big fans in comparison to other restaurants in area.
