Great tasty food - but the service was horrific. It took over an hour for them to just take our order after we were seated and we had reservations....
Beautiful indoor space and good Italian food. Service was very attentive.
Dinner was good, the service was outstanding however looking at price comparisons in the area we felt it was a bit pricey for what we received.
The food was super good, and the restaurant itself is nice, just kinda loud later in the evening.
Excellent small plates that are quite filling & easy to share. Hearty salads. Our main pasta dish - Bolognese- was a wreck. Too spicy (chili oil) and lots of large garlic cloves. We were comped for the pasta dish, but it was disappointing.
Food was good. I had the strazz and it was alright. Needed a bit of salt. The overall dish was bland. The parm cream was runny and not thick as if they finished it in the pan but added to much water and didn’t allow it to emulsify with the cream. Everything else was delicious though.
If you just want to hangout and be social with friends and family then this is the place for you. But as far a food and service I don’t recommend. I repeat,I do not recommend!
I made a reservation 3 weeks out for high-top seating for a special occasion and it was not honored and I was not compensated for the inconvenience. I was given an excuse and placed far away from the bar as possible. I knew then that my time at this location was not going to be long so I simply ordered a small pizza. The order took 30 minutes to arrive and the taste was terrible. I was sincerely disappointed with my experience. I handled the situation with grace, but I not never be a customer again.
If you like an energetic ambiance it’s a perfect place. Music is loud. Food is good!
Wonderful restaurant and wait staff. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly.
North always has good food. It seems they are still trying to figure out home to navigate coming out of Covid. They appear a little under staffed and a little unprepared on food options. Looking forward to when they are back to a full staff, where the service can catch back up to the food.
The food and service were great. A little too loud as it was hard to hear conversations at our table.
Service was very slow. Food was good Didn’t order a 2nd round of drinks as the first round took way too long
We frequent North for Sunday brunch. I usually get the Short Rib hash with eggs, although I order it less spicy because I don’t tolerate spicy hot well. It is very good and a good portion size. My partner ordered the Farmer’s market scramble which arrived reasonably warm, although hot is better for eggs. Service wasn’t as good as it normally is.
I understand the pandemic has put a lot of pressure on restaurants, but when you wait 1.5 hours for your food and tables that arrived 45 min after you are finished before you get your food, there is a problem. Appetite was really suppressed when getting dinner at 1015 pm.
Service is usually good - took us two hours to get in and out for brunch. Drink order took 30 minutes.
I love North Italia and normally love all the food. My only negative experience this time was that I ordered the Wagyu Skirt Steak and not only did it not look or taste like Wagyu, I ordered it medium rare and it came out soooo well well done and was also very chewy. Just overall not good quality meat at all. That being said, service was amazing and they comped the steak and everything else was delicious and fabulous as always. Just maybe don't order Wagyu here...doesn't seem to be real.
Our table was ready as soon as we got there. Everything we ordered was delicious. There was a a little snafu with one of our orders not getting put in but we didn’t even notice the slight delay, we were enjoying talking and our appetizers and drinks. However, the server and the manager both apologized and treated our table to a beautiful appetizer of burrata with heirloom tomatoes. It was very very nice of the manager to make a point to come to our table himself. I would go back to this restaurant again and again.
Graduation brunch celebration with the family. It was amazing and the restaurant was very well taken care of by staff and the waiters. 10/10 experience
Three of us ordered salads for lunch. It took forever! Watched others who came in after us get served before us. Of course, there was an apology by the manager on duty but only after we had to ask about our order. We appreciated her apology but it made for one guest to rush his meal so he could get to an appointment erases a leisurely lunch. Otherwise, we have not had any issues dining therein the past.
Seemed like a completely different restaurant than the North Italia at the Domain, just not good service and food isn't seem nearly as good.
Such a great experience! The food was delicious and our server Hannah went out of her way to make our experience excellent. We will be back for sure next time we are in town.
Wonderful Ambiance, great food and drinks, very enjoyable
I had special request with my food because of allergies and the results were
Took 30 min to be waited on, an hour to get our food. My plate was overflowing with grease. The waitress would leave and not come back for 20min. We had to ask for the same items multiple times because when she did finally come back to the table, she didn’t bring what we had asked for. After being there for 2 hours, I had to leave the table to find someone to cash out because the waitress never came back.
We really enjoyed our Mother’s Day dinner at North Italia downtown Austin! The food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating!
This is always a great place to do dinner before a show at the Moody Theater. The food is great, service is always top notch, and it's walking distance to Moody.
Birthday dinner, very nice inside dining.
Our waiter was amazing! The food was incredible! Going to North Italia never gets old and it has never disappointed!
It was a perfect lunch date. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather along with excellent service and food. The seasonal vegetable salad and squid ink pasta was delicious.
North on Second is our favorite pre-show dinner in downtown Austin. Great happy hour specials too - get the Board & Bottle.
Best spaghetti and meatballs ever!!!
The waiters may just have been busy or something, but they seemed to kind of just sit our food down and scurry away and didn’t really ask if we needed anything. It felt like we had to flag someone down anytime we needed anything like to order, the check, to get a refill on water, etc. Wasn’t able to get ketchup for my hash browns because we couldn’t get ahold of anyone. The sun also moved onto our table, which did not have an umbrella, during the brunch. It was in direct sunlight and hot and bright, and the waitress seemed a little bothered when we asked if we could move or if we could move an umbrella from somewhere else to our table.
Food was excellent. Service was top notch. Parking was easy.
Amazing food and service
We ordered food to share, it came out sporadically , like 30 minutes apart. One item was burnt, they brought us a replacement that was so salty ( we asked for no salt) we couldn’t eat it. The manager did comp our drinks and one appetizer for us and the waitress was wonderful... the kitchen was just messed up today . We still love this place and will be back
Great food, love the visibility of the kitchen and lots of positive energy downtown lots of light in windows.
Pasta for breakfast? Yes! The pasta carbonara was so good and hearty. The lemon donuts were outstanding as well, haven't had anything like them before. I'd pass on the arugala salad though, a little too bitter, my wife liked it though. The staff is very polite, but it took a little long to order our food I thought.
We ate outside so that was the reason for the noise.
