Normandie Seaside Cafe at West Wind Inn
While there is not a water view inside the restaurant (there is from the bar where you can order from the restaurant menu), the service and food were amazing. We had the Sanibel bread appetizer; hubby dined on the filet while I enjoyed the seafood trio of scallops, shrimp, and catch of the day. All delish!
Such a great place to dine. Great cuisine, great value, great service and they believe in the science in regard to COVID safety measures. HIGHLY recommended!
Staff was friendly, food was good and served quickly. There was never a wait and COVID procedures and distancing were strictly followed.
From the moment we walked in I knew we were in for exceptional service and food. Our waitress/ bartender made us feel like family. Everything from cocktails, appetizers, main entree and dessert was great. Now I hear from everyone that breakfast is the best I can’t wait to try it soon.
Friendly staff. Good food. The space was comfortable and not crowded. Wait staff accommodated our special dietary requests.
The hostess was not friendly. We arrived ten minutes early which seemed to set her off. She told us to wait outside or in our car. Once inside, only two servers, who were also the bartenders, scrambled to try to fill drink orders. After ordering, and editing 15 minutes, we learned that some menu items were unavailable. The delay to substitute items caused half of our party to eat alone. It was Christmas so we tried to make the best of it. The hostess coukd have been much friendlier.
Great place for dinner on Christmas and the waiter was wonderful. Thank you for making our Christmas happier and delicious.
Enjoyed the food and evening. The cocktails were great pours!
The food was fantastic, as always. Service was a bit "off" but I wouldn't call it bad. This was the second Thanksgiving we have eaten at Normandie Seaside Cafe and we will definitely go back again.
Quick delicious food with very friendly service! We ate there several times while on vacation!
The service was great and friendly. The food was very fresh and delicious! Highly recommend!
Friendly and efficient staff. Enjoyed our visit. Always good food.
Grouper in a clay pot delicious. Decent wine list.
The service was just ok, but the server had her mask on under her nose., not the correct way to wear a mask. The wine selection was not good at all and my glass tasted old. Gratuity was automatically added and we were just a party of 2. Nothing was overly impressive to make me want to diner there again.
Wonderful !!
Dinner was outstanding. The food was hot and fresh. We definitely recommend.
I was warmly welcomed. Tables were spaced out very well. The menu is full of wonderful seafood—that is what I was looking for. My server, Tom, was always attentive. My courses were paced well. The mussels in a curry cream sauce were delicious. No grit at all. While there were 4 that did not open, the serving is very large and I did not miss those. The grouper bakes in a clay bowl was moist with a very tasty herb crust. With all of my mussels, I could only eat half of my entree. So I look forward to enjoying the rest for lunch.
Great food!!!!
Food was excellent and service by Nick was outstanding!! Highly recommended!!
Excellent food. Cooked to perfection.
We went to this restaurant for dinner while in Sanibel, the food was subpar & the prices were not reflective of the food you were getting. I would save your money and go somewhere else. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was dated, the staff was nice but not helpful at all. Also, the food was cooked incorrectly. Definitely skip this on your next trip to sanibel.
This was a very small restaurant with 2 waitresses. Although they had a full bar, the wait staff were also tending bar. While the food was adequate, my sense is that this location is more of a dining courtesy to the guests of this resort. The wait staff mentions being more accustomed to serving at the pool. While it was not a bad experience, I probably won't revisit the next time in town.
The atmosphere is casual and the food is outstanding.
Everything was great.Everyone enjoyed the meal
Very poor and slow service
The staff seemed to be very out of it or high
The drinks were terrible
I regret that we provided a poor customer experience and slow service ,it is the exact opposite of what we pride ourselves on.We value our customers and understand how important it is to offer exceptional service.your review is very concerning , i would like to get more details about your experience, please do not hesitate to contact me at 239 4725161 ext 450. best regards, Laurent Bosc F&B Director Tween waters resorts/ West wind inn
I should have known not to go here when it was easy to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. First, there is no view of anything as there are no windows. My husband and I both ordered the filet mignon cooked medium. Both of our filets were tender but way overcooked. The bread and olive oil were just okay...nothing special. My 7 year old ordered the Mac and cheese, which was kraft out of the box. We paid $100 for our meal, but it wasn’t worth it. Very disappointed.
Good food. Fairly priced. Nothing fancy.
It was a little disappointing. We've eaten there often in the past, and what used to be excellent, like the food, was only mediocre. We were a little disappointed with dinner but a lot more so with breakfast. I would only recommend to a friend with some reservations.
Fresh ingredients presented at a fair price. Watch the sunset at the beach then celebrate with dinner at the Normandie! Be sure to make a reservation.
Delightful first visit—it is wonderful what a ceiling of attractive while foam ceiling tile, with a nice modern pattern, does to deliver a great “quiet” evening! Compare that to some of our favorite but VERY noisy other island restaurants. Our main course were excellent—medium rare beef fillet, and halibut special. Two outstanding desserts—Crete brûlée and chocolate peanut butter pie!
The cafe is has very good food and service. It is in a great waterfront location that unfortunately it can not take advantage of for ambience.
Was one of our favorite restaurants. Took off the menu my favorite dish so I was disappointed. Husband loved his meal.
Four of us ordered Mediterranean Clay Pot Grouper on the recommendation of one of us that had had it previously. I would return to Normandie just to have that again. The grouper was cooked perfectly and the flavors in the stew were delicious.
Very good food. Charming and comfortable atmosphere. A nice night out
Birthday celebration & nothing done except wishing a Happy bday.
Coconut shrimp appetizer was almost burned,
Service just a little spotty, Caesar salad not dressed, but very pleasant staff & attractive place.
Seafood trio was good, as was the grilled salmon sunset dish.
Peanut butter dessert was great, as was the creme brûlée
We’ll go back!
We like Normandie a lot. It was on the grounds of our hotel and we walked there. Only thing missing was a view - of anything. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Loved that we were able to get take out on nights we wanted to eat on our porch overlooking the gulf.
The Mediteranian Clay Pot Grouper was fantastic! It was the fourth time in a row I've ordered it and it's always the same. The flavors are incredible and I like that it's always so piping hot.
The duck was excellent. Casual but excellent dining experience.
The restaurant is a bit hidden on the property, and could use more signage to get from the front entrance to the place. The servers are pleasant and helpful. The bread and olive oil were fantastic, and the selection of beverages was good. I ordered the special which was a unique combination of a mild curry sauce, black rice / edamame / shitake mushroom risotto and grilled scallops. The combination was unique and the dish was well balanced and quite tasty. I would say that the $36 price tag was a bit steep for the dish however.
A quiet place for family dinner or a night out. Would go again.
Way better than expected, meal was great and service was perfect.
