My son is a chef in San Francisco and took me to Nopa last Saturday night when I was in town for a visit. What a wonderful meal. The food was interesting and delicious. We started with the little fried fish, so good, Little Gem salad, smoked trout, olive oil tuna, Pappardelle and country pork chop. All I have to say is they were all amazing! The service was excellent and so was the wine. I would highly recommend this place to those that love a great restaurant experience
Tasty food and great environment. Portions were a little small. One cocktail was delicious, the other tasted watered down. Definitely worth going back.
Good food, good drinks, good crowd. What else do you need?
food was deliclious, quite special. The room was way too loud, even in the mezaanine.
Burger was great, fish was meh.
Another wonderful brunch experience. We had a pork shoulder dish and the custard French toast. Both were delicious and I really liked my sparkling wine as well! Good service and upbeat, good ambiance.
Love this place! Great drinks and yummy food. Good vegetarian options.
Love the foods!
We enjoyed our meal of small plates. The celery soup was our favorite and to die for. We liked our smoked trout plate and the flatbread. The little fish were OK (I should have remembered what smelt tasted like from my youth). Our drinks were lovely.
It was okay. Nothing to write home about. No real standouts. The mezzanine tables aren’t as good as first floor. The ambiance is lousy upstairs. Food was meh. If you need to meetup to eat and have trouble finding a place, it is fine. But it wouldn’t be my first choice.
Amazing food, good enough service. Overall awesome
Excellent food and service. Definitely want to go again!
Excellent food. Hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, which changes seasonally. Highly recommended.
A lovely brunch date on a birthday trip. Would definitely return.
Excellent. Never disappointed. Our top five go-to restaurants for guaranteed great experience.
Kinda disappointing service (everything took a long time but no one acklowdged it)
Nopa is always fabulous, at 11:30pm or for brunch.
My husband and I found ourselves in a position of having an early dinner so that we didn’t have to fight the traffic back to the East Bay. We stumbled across Nopa, and we were delighted with our entire evening. The bartender was able to suggest a spot-on tequila that catered to my tastebuds, and was very helpful in suggesting our entrees. The service at Nopa was friendly, enthusiastic, and timely. This a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that sets a very high bar, literally and figuratively. I would highly suggest Nopa for individual, couple, family and group dining.
Great restaurant to go to in San Fransisco. Burger is recommended, but small. Selection of entrees is wonderful, though price points are a bit steep.
San Francisco needs more late night, lively dinning. NOPA fills that void. The food is very good and the crowd interesting.
One of the best late night dinner spots in SF. The burger is sublime- small stack of perfection with your choice of cheese. The rigatoni with duck - yum! Wait staff knows the wine list well. Let them choose.
Our waitress was the rudest waitress I have ever had.
I think they can do with a much better wine list. Ordered a 2015 Rioja which appeared to be a decent bottle of wine from a good vintage, however it was not at all good...was very disappointed with it, but the food was fantastic!
My recommendation is to pay the corkage and take your own wine!
Sat upstairs and smoke from the kitchen would fill the area when they stirred the coals
Just love this place. Food is always delicious and staff are always friendly and accommodating. It has gotten a little more expensive over the past few years, but will still be back soon!
It took us two hours to receive our food. I gently let the waiter know that that was not acceptable. He apologized but was cool about it. This is the second disappointing experience at Nopa. It is overrated.
Busy for Sunday brunch. Prompt seating. Good service. Good selection. The custard French toast is excellent. As is the house cured bacon. Great neighborhood spot
Awesome food! The restaurant is really beautiful and chic, the whole atmosphere was very fun. Service was exceptional despite it being totally packed. Love this place!
Quite busy on Saturday lunch. Quick seating by staff. Service is great. Decent choice of food. French Toast and Pork were good. Grapefruit drink was also fresh. Parking might be tricky
Great food
Pretty good food and ambiance. Great for a group. Would be a little noisy for a date.
Enjoyed the dinner at NOPA. The food was fresh and well presented.
Nice lively place. A bit loud on a Saturday evening.
The best! Seriously, nopa is one of the best restaurants in the city.
Excellent and consistent food. Sat upstairs and had partial view of the kitchen which was nice to watch. Had the burger this time and it was one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Also enjoyed the chicken liver pate. The bread that came with the pate was warm, but a little greasy like it was deep fried.
Always the best meal, drinks and service to be found in SF.
We had a great first time experience at Nopa. Bartenders and server were very nice and helpful. Food was great. Ambiance was lively but not too noisy (on second level). Prices pretty much fit the experience.
The food at Nopa is always interesting and flavorful and this visit was no exception. We had many fantastic dishes with the only complaint being some slightly undercooked rice. That’s why they get 4 for food this time rather than 5.
However, the service was terrible this time. We were seated and it was over 15 minutes before anyone came to our table and then only because I stopped another server and asked. The our sever came and took our order. But after that the service dropped off again. Our server often stopped by other nearby tables but somehow never stopped to see us. Nor did she even make make eye contact. I’m not expecting “fine dining” service because it’s not that kind of place but the lack of any sort of attentiveness was annoying!
Service was extremely slow. We had a late night reservation and it took over an hour for the food to come. The waitress at one point told us our food would be right out and then came back and said it would be another 15 minutes. One of our orders was for soup and the other for a burger so these are not complex items.
Went here with my girlfriend to treat her out for her birthday and the service was pretty bad for how much hype this place gets. The waiter was stand-offish and hurrying us up the entire time, they messed up one of the orders which we ended up having to send back once to get corrected, then back again because they didn’t correct it, and all the staff we encountered while there were not nice at all. Good thing this whole experience didn’t ruin the entire night (which it initially did)! Not planning on ever coming back. Recommend going elsewhere for a special occasion!
