Enjoyable evening - nice atmosphere complimented by great food and service
Food and service were amazing! Will definitely be back soon
The restaurant was attractive and we were happy to have a table quiet
enough so that we could talk. The food was good but not great--entrees were
ambitious but my beef short rib was not quite as juicy and flavorful as I'd expected,
given the price. We had a pleasant meal and made it to the theater on time.
Reasonably priced & a good selection of different entrees; nice wine selection; actually read my request for a round table & were able to accommodate us, even adding one more seat to our reservation.
Dinner was ok. We ate at the bar and the bartender (who was not busy) seemed more interested in interacting with other staff. We had multiple drinks and had to ask for each one of them. Not bad just not great. Better options right around the corner in DC.
We had reservations at the restaurant but upon arrival saw a nice table by the window in the bar. As it happens the happy hour discount was still in effect. We tried exotic drinks and wonderful snacks. The waiter from Seattle was helpful and fun. In short we had a thoroughly wonderful experience
Mother’s Day brunch
I’ve probably eaten at this restaurant a half dozen times and this is my first time writing a review. For the most part I wanted to keep this place to myself. It’s never overcrowded, but it is always incredible. It is one of the many restaurants connected to the famed Rasiika and I would dare to say it is just as good. This is by far my favorite restaurant. I’m a pescatarian and they always have wonderful fish options. I would recommend this place to anyone.
The seabass was amazing, and the chicken remoulade was quite good. Didn't like the olive oil cake much (too dry), should have gone with the recommendation from the server. The wine list is very very good.
One of our favorites in Penn Quarter. This time our waiter, although personable, was not the most attentive. He never informed us of specials, did not come over to take our order, and seemed a bit distracted. All was well however and we managed to enjoy excellent salmon with perfectly cooked vegetable sides. Great table with nice view of all the street activity. Tables a bit too close for my liking but still quiet and easy to converse. Will certainly return!
Splendid food. Roasted cauliflower, pasta with pea pesto and ramps, fried apricot pie: each with interesting and unexpected tastes, emerging in a subtle sequence with each bite.
We went for brunch on a Sunday. The table service was very well done. Staff was attentive at just the right amount. Scones are like dessert! The Celery/Parsnip soup is extraordinary. Highly recommend NoPa!
The staff was very accommodating with my food sensitivities. The chef modified the menu offering to meet my needs and it was absolutely delicious!
A friend and I went pre-theater on a Friday night. The food and service were very good. The wine list had some worthwhile buys. The table spacing allows for conversation by people 60 YOs.
Very friendly staff and pleasing, modern decor. Loved the chicken roulade and Brussels sprouts.
Delicious food and attentive service in a beautiful setting, convenient to museums.
Service attentive without being intrusive. Creative cuisine, such as crispy brussel sprouts, fried apricot pie (really!), curried chicken meat balls, plus more mainstream selections. Excellent early bird prix fixes dinner. Great for a small group of friends who want to talk. Highly recommended for anyone near the Portrait Museum or Penn Quarter.
Awesome server. Great atmosphere.
Overall quite good
Very much enjoyed the experience overall. Nice décor. Seated near the large front windows which was fine. The menu was fairly diverse. Enjoyed the short rib entre. Nice portions and cooked perfectly. One of our party had the mussels entre, although it wasn't as good as anticipated. Nicely done but if ordering mussels, I prefer just mussels and broth. This entre included some lobster and other seafood items. I don't think the tastes blend very well together. We also shared an order of brussel sprouts on the side and they were very tasty. Nice bottle of Shiraz to complement. I would recommend to others.
Unusual food preparation but very good. Some new and different preparations. Good service and nice building.
Dinner was delicious and delivered fast. Water glass always full. Yummy wine.
This restaurant has nice decor and good ambiance. Very attentive service. Waiter did an excellent job describing menu items and giving recommendations. Food was presented very nicely and came out about when you would want them to. Appetizer portions were on the small size. We came on a Friday night and the place had a few empty tables. I could hear the other people I was with which was important to me. The food was good to excellent. Some unusual flavors and twists which is what I was hoping for. I would definitely go back.
Met a friend for dinner prior to the Pink concert at Capital One Arena. The location was perfect. Lots of variety on the menu but we both ordered cheeseburgers. I love a good burger and these did not disappoint. Our server was polite and efficient. I’d love to return and try a few of the swankier menu options.
You can’t get better than here. Food and service were amazing. Excellent deviled eggs, Bibb salad should be an entree. Had to take half of the pork shank given how much there was.
The manager is sublime and clearly is backed by a great team.
Very attentive service. Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Well curated beer and wine menus.
Great service, amazing food and perfect location across the street from the National Portrait Gallery. I had their famous chicken remoulade...incredible! My companions had the sweet pea risotto and the pork chop...both were excellent.
Wonderful, attentive service by the staff. Great pre-theater/pre-game (right by CapitalOne Arena) 3 course meal for low price.
Mussels were plump and scallops were great. Shrimp and lobster were overcooked.
Outstanding as usual. Chilean Sea Bass outstanding.
NoPa was fantastic, they called 24 hours in advance to see if I needed to make any changes to the reservation. They accommodated 15 if us on short notice. The service was very attentive. They have a great selection of brunch cocktails and had wonderful complimentary cinnamon rolls. My potatoes were a little burnt, but overall recommend for a lovely brunch.
Excellent cuisine beautifully presented. Wonderful healthy offerings.
This was our 2nd time here. Lovely restaurant in great location, and drinks and food are outstanding. However, this time we came with our 5 year old and couldn't help noticing there were only 1 or 2 options for him. While we were dining, there were at least 2 other tables with young children as well.
I recommend expanding the menu to include a few options for the little ones.
Great service. Limited menu but excellent food. We enjoyed our experience.
great food in Penn Quarter. The rolls are amazing. Good cocktail list. I had the crispy Pork Shank. It was super. Also the salad was yummy.
We had a delicious meal the salads were fresh and tasty and the special carrott coconut soup was fabulous. Always a great meal!
Return visit after a long time. As always, great and personalized service for a regular, and just love the setting with big windows looking out to the Portrait Gallery museum. STILL wish there were more lighter lunch options, like more salads.
Terrific menu (food & drink)!!! Portions for price were better than any other mid-scale to high-end D.C. restaurant. Door and wait staff were hospitable and friendly. First time dining at NOPA...I plan to add it to my regular rotation.
The sea bass was deliciously served over Carolina rice (I had just bought a bag while visiting Charleston!) and bokchoy with a great Asian-inspired sauce. My friend had the pork shank, a hearty tasty meal for a cold evening!
