Nookies is a local gem - absolute favorite for good, fresh, mainstream American Dining accommodating all tastes. And, Manager/Maître d' Roberto Evangelista-Lopez is a treasure - welcoming, accommodating special seating requests, and clearly dedicated to making sure that both repeat and new customers walk away happy. The pot roast is a fragrant, tender dinner option, as are any of the salads or - in my case - the curried Tilapia plate. Fresh apple/berry crumble and a to-die-for Brownie dessert make a great finale. For brunch, I love the grilled cheese sandwich - best in the neighborhood.

We have met out friends here for several years since it is in the middle travel wise and has parking (a big plus). Until now the menu has had omelets and other breakfast all days and more lunch items at the dinner hour. The menu has changed which was very disappointing for several of our group who liked the restaurant for that reason. Changes are we will need to find

There was hardly anyone there at 6:30. The waiter got my order wrong. It was tasty, just not what I ordered. I would give them another chance. And if you have to plan business outings at the last minute, keep this place in mind. Classy enough for a business dinner, and lots of available tables if your group size is large.

I went to Nookies on a Friday night to catch up with my brother over dinner. It was pretty quiet and not crowded for a Friday night, which made it a great place to have a conversation. In regards to the food, Nookies manages to have a menu full of creative dishes that is updated seasonally, and genuinely stands out in terms of flavor and quality (a difficult task nowadays, when virtually every new restaurant tries to jump on the "New American" bandwagon). Lastly, while I wouldn't call the bill that my brother and I racked up affordable, Nookies does provide quite a bit of food for the money they charge (at least by Chicago standards), so there's no risk of going home hungry. P.S. Highly recommend the pot roast!

I come here often. Have been since they opened. I 💗Gen Mgr Andreas & our experience when we see him makes it that much btr. My dad knows him as well as friends & other family. Can't stand the Asst Mgr-Hector. Awful & unprofessional. He doesn't know how to speak to customers and handles situations completely wrong! It's happened many times, but last time even greeting us coming in was unfriendly! My friends wondered what he's doing working there, let alone an Asst Mgr! He needs to take a class to learn how to treat others! Also too bad they stopped serving breakfast in evening now!:( That was reason we'd come there. Waitress Sam is lovely!:) Am always introducing new people to this place! C you soon!

This is always a great choice to meet with family, a friend or a casual date. The atmosphere is modern and clean with nice upscale diner décor. It is comfortable and the food is as well. We just visited over the weekend and learned that they've made some menu changes. Our dishes ranged from "The best pot roast we've ever had" to "Meh, chicken." There were some items on the menu that never disappointed--some have stayed and some are now gone. All in all, it is a great family restaurant, a cute date spot, and it's a great Edgewater diner for any meal.

Server was disrespectful and bad. My girl asked for to go box and expexted him to put it for her but insteasd he let my girl put the food in the box also he did not give any celophane to put it in. No table touches and cant feel any passion and importance to customers thats why I gave him less tip. When he saw the tip he got mad and insulted me. He was saying whats wrong with my service? I did not say anything because I dont want to create any scene but instead he insulted me and said "oh I know you cant afford it" how bad is that to treat your customers like that. If only I wasnt in good mood im going to slap his face with cash.
