Great, healthy, TASTY food. The lasagna is awesome.
Food is incredible!! So many options no matter what food lifestyle you are living.
We were very impressed with Nook. The gluten-free options made it possible for our entire party to enjoy a tasty and healthy meal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting. All around a slam dunk.
While the service at Nook was outstanding as was the ambiance, the food was underwhelming. This was my first paleo inspired restaurant so I could have had unrealistic expectations but I was not impressed with my order. I ordered a barbecue pizza with regular crust and expected it to be flavorful and moist but it was neither. I added a tomato base to the pizza so I expected it to be even more flavorful but it was dry and bland. My wife ordered the barbecue chicken which was good but the sweet potato side was pretty bland as well. Overall we had a good experience, just not very impressive food.
I never take the time to write reviews. However, the service, attention to detail, quality of food was really above and beyond. I have food allergies, and they could not have tried harder to accommodate me.
Go there on a date, with some friends, or just by yourself.
It's a lovely place to enjoy delicious food
2nd time I’ve had Ben as our server. He is awesome. Knowledgeable about the menu, prompt service, very kind, and has brought a smile to my face on both occasions!
This experience was Mother’s Day Brunch. We had the latest reservation of the day so some items were sold out. I was a little disappointed but there was still the Keto Breakfast which was what I came for. It was delicious, should be on the menu everyday.
I love Nook! I've been there multiple times, and it's always delicious!
This is a "Beat Bobby Flay" chef! Chef Mohler makes every ingredient the star. We had the seared tuna and short rib entrees and the main and sides were cooked and seasoned to perfection. You know how at some restaurants the sides are these mass produced "who cares" items? Not here; the sides are treated with the same respect and care as the mains (the tuna and short rib were like none other too!). Also, do not be fooled into thinking Paleo influenced means a lacking taste experience. The opposite is true as that everything bursts with flavor (yes, even using cilantro micro greens as a garnish)! The staff truly takes pride and ownership in their food and service. Do not hesitate to book this on Open Table!
I love this place! I have celiac disease and it’s without question that they can accommodate - in fact - that majority of their items are gluten free (even the chicken and waffles!)
Everything is fresh and delicious, and we do not eat Paleo specifically or anything but that doesn’t change the fact that the food is GREAT, my husband loves the beer selection, and I love the desert too.
Of note, the management is ever-present and interacts with you throughout your dining experience. It’s like you always feel like a VIP.
This place would be great for a baby shower, bridal shower, corporate lunch meeting place, end of year Christmas party place, etc.
Juat ok. The concept is great, but we didn’t leave just loving the experience.
The first 3 times we visited Nook, we couldn’t wait to get back. It took us a while to get back to the restaurant. So our next concert at Bankers, we decided to go again. I booked the reservation on Open Table a month or so before the concert. We arrive for our 5:30 reservation, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all yet, they wanted to seat us at the first table next to hostess area. I asked to move to a different table and we did. To drink ordered a Makers neat and Bulleit Rye neat. For dinner we had the Lasagna and Chicken and Waffles. The lasagna was basically marinara and the chicken tasted like the oil it was fried in hadn’t been changed all week. They offered a different dinner, So by the time my husband got his Short Rib I was done with my meal. Short rib meat was delicious but the cauliflower that comes with it was not the same as before when he had it. It was dry. Disappointing. So it’s time to leave for the show and we ask for our bill. The server explained that they still charged for the chicken and waffles instead of the short rib which was more expensive. When I look at the bill, I about choked. My drink cost more than my dinner. Seriously?! A neat Bulleit was $18 or $19 (I can’t remember which) that’s insane! It’s not like I asked for a double, just neat which means pour a shot straight into a glass and serve it. This experience will most likely keep us from going back. Love the concept of the restaurant but if you want return customers, you’re going to have to change some things.
It was a very nice experience. Great food, great waitress, great host! Food was fantastic... Keto. Thanks for the experience, we will be back.
I loved this restaurant! It had the type of menu that offered delicious, nourishing options. I ordered the pistachio crusted salmon. It was really good. I appreciated the portion size too, because I don’t like to waste good.
The ambiance is lovely.
Nook takes a new approach to fine dining and offers paleo, Whole30, gluten-free and keto-friendly dining options.
The service was good and the ambiance was quite lovely. The food was lacking. If lack of clean plates were demonstrative, all the plates had sizable portions of food remaining.
Chicken and waffles - the waffle was pretty and tough.
Curry chicken- bland
Lasagna - odd
Short ribs - incredibly tender and needed salt as well as other seasonings
The person who ordered pizza (on a wheat crust) seemed the most satisfied.
I appreciate the concept of this restaurant but their execution needs improvement especially at that price point.
Delicious! The cocktails were wonderful and the food was fear-free and delicious.
Nook has been on my list to try! So glad we did! Food and service was excellent, we stayed for quite a while and never felt rushed. We will definitely make a return trip!
Avocado bacon was great. Pizza and salmon also.
Service was superb.
No canola oil- outstanding!
My wife and I will be back.
Great place! The menu is excellent with plenty of healthy options, vegan options, gluten free.
If you are in a low carb diet this is the place to have dinner without cheating!!!
The staff is super friendly and there’s a great atmosphere!
Great place! Food was amazing and so healthy! The real key was the service it was EXCELLENT!
First time to this restaurant.
The service and food were absolutely bad.... examples:
Server was in such a hurry and explained to us that they had a large party and it was consuming the kitchen and said our wait time may be increased. It totally made us feel like we were not important.
Next, all of our glasses (soda) were empty as we waited for our food. Instead of simply bringing us refills, sever asks us “would you like more Diet Coke?”..... we said yes...... he never brought them. Our food arrived and we had to wait another ten minutes without beverages to ASK for more drinks
The food is unlike anything we have experienced before. It was the worst experience of our lives...... no exaggeration. It was bland, cold and totally flavorless. Not to mention extremely overpriced.
Worst dining experience we have ever had. I would not go back even if it was free.
We eat at several different establishments and this is by far, the worst experience we have ever had with a restaurant.
Excellent choice for a pre concert meal. Attentive staff. Nice selection of healthy meals.
Absolutely love this place! The food is magnificent, the wait staff and management top notch. It is nice to have a place downtown that has such a great atmosphere, a great bar, amazing cocktails and the food is tasty and healthy!
We love this restaurant! We both do keto and we enjoy all the options on their menu that are keto including the lasagna, the salmon taco, and the bacon guacamole appetizer. We also love the olive oil shot that is offered at the beginning! What a great way to get some healthy fat and we now often will do an olive oil shot if we have a protein heavy dinner.
Great service and atmosphere. If you are paleo or keto dieting this is a good place to go. Food is excellent!
Love The Nook. The staff and service is always great.its so nice to eat fresh, healthy and flavorful food. Loving the guacamole and bacon chips right now.
AWESOME!!! Excellent service and absolutely delicious food. Most definitely would recommend!
Love the creative menu items but the food was a little disappointing. My curry chicken dish was bland and none of the other five at our table had anything exceptional to say about the food. The ambience is great and I hope you'll continue to work on the flavors.
We absolutely loved our experience at Nook. Our waiter was polite, helpful, attentive, and good for a laugh when he brought out those olive oil shots. It's a wonderful place for a novel eating experience, a quiet dinner date, some hearty nourishing food, as well as interesting and unique kombucha infused mixed drinks.
Don't listen to anyone here telling their food isn't seasoned. The notes are subtle, as paleo food often is, but packed with a variety of textures and flavors.
It’s my second time here and it was still an overall enjoyable experience. I love the healthy options they provide along with the quiet and cozy environment on a Friday night. The taste of the food was not necessarily exceptional but it’s satisfying and guilt-free. I would recommend it if you are looking for something light and clean to satisfy your stomach.
I love Nook’s focus on whole-body wellness. The food was exceptional, and the friendly, knowledgeable staff made the experience even more enjoyable.
Great food whether you are eating Paleo or not. Just real, healthy food.
Went with co-workers specifically because one was about 3 weeks into a keto diet. Server was not very helpful or patient with her questions. I think everyone enjoyed the taste of their food, but it was very overpriced - especially for lunch.
It was ok-very disappointed that the salmon was farm raised at a more health conscious restaurant. Very glad that Indy has a paleo restaurant but it needs improvement. Pizza was ok- not great flavor. Everything was just ok- definitely not memorable food for the price.
Our first visit and we will definitely return! Great healthy eating conscience food choices!
Sorry to say, but we won't be coming back to Nook. I cook and eat a Paleo diet, but unfortunately, Nook really missed the mark. Overall, I felt that the menu was uninspired. Also, the meals we had were bland, except for the heavy amounts of garlic was used in a feeble attempt to give things flavor. If I was curious about eating Paleo, which is essentially no grains or legumes, this would be enough to discourage anyone from this diet. Both my husband and I were disappointed.
The service and ambiance was great. My wife and daughter enjoyed the tenders and sweet potato fries. My burger was dry and unseasoned. The tortilla was delicious but my arugula salad that came with it was bland as well. The last time we dined my wife loved her paleo dinner but my pizza was lack luster again. I feel as though your kitchen nails the paleo diet for your niche but when regular diners are along there is a lack of attention paid to their preferences. Being a chef myself for over 30 years i try not to be too overly critical but i hope this sincere critique helps elevate the bar. We will definitely be dining again often when we come downtown for venues. Thank you for your offerings. My wife also just informed me that the server was hitting on her and my daughter before i arrived. This was very disheartening. He offered to get her things complimentary while they wait.
Always great food and service . A hidden gem!
Since my family is working on our second month of Whole 30, we were excited to find a restaurant that catered to Paleo and Whole 30 specific diets. My wife had the Ahi tuna salad and it was wonderful! My 6 year old son had the almond breaded chicken fingers and the sweet potato fries. Both were very good. I opted for the "Nook" burger and sweet potato fries. The fries were good, but the burger and mayo were not very appetizing. I have made many batches of Whole 30 compliant home-made mayonnaise, so I know it can taste better than store bought mayo. Unfortunately, the mayo I was served tasted like dark olive oil. The burger was edible, but it had no flavor. Many spices could have been used to enhance the beef flavor, but I cannot remember tasting even salt. In all, the restaurant has a novel concept and offers a diverse menu that focuses on food that is good for you. We had a good experience, but I wish the burger and mayo flavors were more well thought out.
In town visiting and made a last minute reservation because we read about the bacon and guacamole ap - it was worth going there for that. Absolutely delicious. All three of us liked our entries and loved the brussel sprouts we also got for an ap. This place is especially great if folks are on special diets - whether paleo, whole 30, or GF, or even vegan:
Great food and service. The guacamole is a must! I highly recommend it.
