Great food, excellent service! The staff was very attentive. Just what I expected from a Busalacchi restaurant.
Birthday dinner with a small group. It was wonderful. The noise was a little overwhelming, so we will sit outside next time.
Food and service always great. Best choices of entrees and wine.
The food was wonderful. Our waiter was lively and entertaining. His Italian accent, although charming, was at times difficult to understand. One of the three meals did not arrive with the others, it was lost somehow, which tarnished our dining together experience. Other than that it was a very pleasant meal...
We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Nonna. It was a lovely restaurant and wonderful food.
We ate here Saturday night and loved it so much we came back tonight. The lobster ravioli was the best we have ever had, rich with flavor and not a bit “fishy” tasting. The sauce was like lobster bisque soup. We also had mussels (cheerfully made off the menu upon request) as well as lasagna. The excellent selection of fresh pastries and desserts was reasonably priced and very high quality. The service was also impeccable and I sensed this is the type of restaurant the staff would welcome you as friends and family after a few visits!
Our meal definitely lived up to our expectations for comfort food. My daughter ordered the pasta with bolognese sauce and enjoyed it very much. I had the short ribs, which were delicious. Service was on the slow side, but we had good food and good wine, so we didn’t mind too much.
Went for our anniversary. Placed a reservation via Open Table and placed and noted that we were attending for our anniversary, don't bother, they never acknowledge it. In fact they told us we had to wait 30-40 for our reservation... So what's the point of reserving!? The food was very good but plan on waiting for everything. Took about fifteen minutes just to order a bottle of wine, which was uncalled for a not so busy Wednesday night, then took over thirty minutes to be served between our appatizers and main course, it doesn't take thirty to forty minutes to make pasta and a salad. The reason I mention the exact time is because it took so long we actually took notice to the time. Mind you, the tables next to us we're served faster. Also, if you plan on having a salad, you better not have an appetite, you'll only get about five or six bites, smallest salad EVER! The desserts we're great! But they definitely can improve on their service. My wife and I will be going elsewhere next time for dinner, which is unfortunate given its recent review on San Diego Insider.
I'm pleased that this restaurant is very similar to its predecessor, Trattoria Fantastica. The menu was a little smaller, but food and service was still top-notch. And Zucchero still has amazing desserts. We always love being able to walk over to the Zucchero display case to visually select what we want for dessert and then simply tell our waiter which dessert we want.
Nonna’s is a great find in Little Italy. Great wine list. A great array of pasta dishes prepared in a homemade style. Don’t forget the cannolis.
Good, happy with service and food
