we have been to Nomi many times , this time food was not good , they stoped making the Branzino we loved to have there , the waiter was not nice or helpful , and at the end we ordered a desert he sad it would take 30 min we said okay its fine , few min later came back with a small pastry instead and said I thought you may like this instead since the apple tart will take 30 min , we said we will wait again . I took the lobster which was very rubbery and very small . this was the worst experience at Nomi , it may take a very long time fr us to go back if at all

The menu was passé. Beef tenderloin was full of gristle served with burnside, creamed spinach and something that looked like tater tots. Salad overdressed and vinigery , sushi roll too dense with tempura fried yesterday. Just awful for the price. Used to be delicious. Would avoid.

Wow! I was not expecting any of this when I walked it. My breath was taken away by how beautiful the venue was. The view of Michigan Ave and the lighting were amazing. Our service was wonderful and the food was delicious!

I continue to return to this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because they set the bar when it comes to consistency. Always a delicious meal, always attentive service, always an all around excellent job. Quite a number of their staff (reception desk, waitstaff) have been with the restaurant for years, and it is an added bonus to see familiar faces who are expert hospitality industry professionals.

This is the second time I’ve been to this restaurant and I was excited to experience the food and atmosphere again. The Sushi is probably the best you’ll find in Chicago; truly phenomenal. Here’s the issue we experienced. It was Valentine’s Day, and it wasn’t until we sat down that we learned we were limited to a pre fixed menu of 3 or 5 courses. They didn’t have their regular menu available, and you couldn’t order anything they were featuring a la cart style. That’s fine if they want to do something limited on Valentine’s Day, to keep things simplified for the kitchen (I’m sure). But, there was no mention of the limitation and it would have been really nice to order off their regular menu. Thankfully, the raw bar was available so we just stuck to that. When we asked about ordering items a la cart, the manager came over and explained the deal for the night and that it was all explained on Opentable and their website, which it definitely was not. They also called me days ahead of time to confirm the reservation and did not mention it either. While the raw bar is phenomenal and our server was awesome, I don’t think we’ll be heading back anytime soon. Pretty turned off by this experience.
