Great service, lousy food .... my steak was cold, my wife’s chicken entree was dry
I would not recommend NoMI to anyone for now .... very disappointed by our experience this evening
Beautiful presentation on all breakfast meals at our table of 6 on Sunday! I had the avocado toast, high recommended. The view from the restaurant was great, even on a grey winter day.
Prior to the most recent visit to this restaurant I found everything to be very good. However on the current visit the food was bad bad bad!
Well curated NYE menu and the view was just lovely. Most of all the quality and service was excellent
Great view of the city, good food and nice atmosphere. Not super loud and crowded like a lot of popular restaurants are in. Chicago which was good for us (friends catching up)
Great breakfast options other than the ordinary. Lovely view of the city by the windows. Service was very good and quick.
Food was delicious and consistent from small plates to deserts. Kids love their menu; especially the flatbread pizza. Service was exceptional, every time. Thanks NoMi, we will come back as always.
I've been here before and it was a much better experience than it was at this visit. To say we were sorely disappointed would be an understatement. Being scoffed at for asking questions about the menu, which I don't remember as being pretentious before, was not a great way to start our dining experience. The salmon beignets are hush puppies. I've had beignets and hush puppies, it's insulting to purposefully mislead your patrons. Every dish we tried sounded much better on paper than it was in person. Really such a shame considering the ambience and the enjoyable city view.
The tables with a window view at NoMi provide an unparalleled view of the city, and the food and service are consistently outstanding. Dining at NoMi is always a treat because you know you’ll experience a wonderful meal, impeccable service and breathtaking views. Highly recommend.
Buffets are tricky; ours was a bit uneven.. some excellent choices, some less so. Biggest disappointment were the cold soups. Still, we enjoyed a pleasant unhurried meal in a very nice setting.
I am still a little disconcerted that at a place of this caliber, people arrive dressed for lunch at McDonald's.
Excellent food but overpriced. Would expect tablecloths or placemats.
One our favorites for almost two decades...never disappoints!
The best Christmas Day brunch - fantastic variety - fresh oysters, sushi, carving stations, soups and pastries. The food is delicious, and the service is absolutely superb.
Christmas Eve at NoMI is our tradition! Amazing dishes and wine! Excellent service, and beautiful view of Mag mile! I love this restaurant, consistently delicious food!
What more can I say? It was excellent in every aspect.
Very slow service at brunch. The space was a little austere.
My daughter and I really enjoyed having lunch at NoMi. The food, wait staff and views were incredible. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Always wonderful. Especially around the holidays. Classic Chicago.
Food and service was exceptional. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes.
Phenomenal nigrimi and the octopus appetizer was sublime
Delicious sushi, a fabulous view, and a beautiful and sophisticated dining room. Thank you for a lovely meal.
Food was very good overall. But the service was spotty and below this price point. Also the dining room started to get smokey from the open kitchen.
I booked a reservation for the night but ended up waiting a little longer than expected but no complaints whatsoever. Overall pleasant experience, food was amazing and well prepared, and service was quick and professional. On top of that, we ended up with an amazing view.
Our waiter Batrain(not sure about spelling) went above and beyond to make our brunch a wonderful dining experience.
The appetizers where good. My wife and felt that the entree's could have had more balance in flavors with more vegetables. I felt that the pricing was a little high for the food. The environment was really cool and we enjoyed our seating overlooking the streets.
Server Joe was amazing
There was no one to greet me at the maitre d' station between 11:45am and 12 Noon. Not wanting to lose my 12 Noon reserved table, I wandered back to the sushi station where someone finally intercepted me. Very confusing for guests, especially during lunch rush.
Table service was outstanding, as usual.
We took my mom to brunch to NoMI. We were seated right away and our server was very attentive. The food was fantastic. We had the grain bowls, omelet, salmon and something else :) Our server brought a plate of bite size desserts to celebrate my mom. Even though we didn't have a window table, the views were great. For a Chicago restaurant, we expected to pay much more but the entire menu was priced appropriately. Would definitely go back and recommend!
This was not our first time dining at NoMi, but this time we were sorely disappointed. Two out of three meals came out wrong. Our server did not bring our drinks for a long time and was generally inattentive. After this experience, I'm not sure we'd come back - it was just all meh.
Always a holiday favorite. Such a beautiful place to take in Michigan Ave and enjoy a delightful lunch with an amazing wine selection.
Girls day out! Birthday celebration!
Although I booked 2weeks in advance for a window seat with a good view I did not get a window seat without any notice. Extreme disappoint considering I had a overseas guest visiting. Sushi and food portions are about half of what you would usually expect. You would not describe a menu "platter" for few pieces of sushi. I wish they indicate number of pieces for further clarification in future. There was no allocated waiter for the table to serve us and they kept changing which was unusual.
very nice meal with attentive service. The dishes we tried were outstanding and different. while we were surprised to have a one year old at the table next to us and two young grandkids at the table on the other side of us, they were well behaved and did not detract from our experience. The bar is also a very nice space and a comfortable place to wait for your table to be ready.
While the restaurant has a perfect position overlooking Michigan Avenue we found the food mediocre and overpriced for what you get.
Our party of three has a terrific meal - sushi to start and then the scallops and red snapper for 2. In truth, the red snapper could have easily fed 3 or 4; I’d strongly consider sharing it amount a larger party. Terrific wines by the glass.
Nice views from the table and that's it. Flavorless food with odd pairings like fish floating in salty beef jus. Probably should have stuck to sushi, but multiple options were "out." Burned on the outside and oddly prepared "baked" alaska. The food was edible and we were hungry, but not a single course was great and we will not be back. Decent wine selection.
When you consider the price to be about what you would spend on a whole-family Thanksgiving dinner, it's like having the holiday for two without all the cooking. A huge number of items to choose from for an all you can eat buffet, all of them very good to excellent. A bright room and friendly ambiance.
Thanksgiving buffet was great / enjoyed the brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, hake, parnsip puree, sushi bar
