My husband and I went to Nobu to celebrate a 30th birthday, and it was a really special evening. We both had the signature Omakase and it was outstanding. The food was delicious and the meal was nicely paced, allowing for plenty of time to savor the dishes and enjoy our sake and whiskey.
The environment was great and there was plenty of spacing between tables and adherence to all COVID recommended guidelines.
It was a wonderful place to celebrate a milestone birthday!
It was terrific from beginning to end!
I was disappointment to say the least
The restaurant was quiet obviously because of the weather, midweek and corona
But the menu has changed
The favourite dishes which Nobu was known for has been removed ( due to shortage in ingredients) and even the dishes we ordered was either lacking in flavour or undercooked (fish)
Will stay away for long time till I forget this disappointed visit to Nobu DC
The service and food....impeccable!
I had a wonderful time and the staff were amazing and helpful. This was my first time there. I will definitely go again.
Over priced for what it is. Sushi was good, but not great.
The food was tasty, but excruciatingly slow to come. We were planning to order more food and also place an additional order of several items to take home, but seeing how super slow the food was to arrive, we changed our minds.
Not sure why it was so very slow, and it's a shame that it affected our birthday celebration.
Otherwise, the experience was ok. Thanks.
Really fantastic dining experience - pricey but worth it! We will be back
We were seated in a great location and provided with great service. He was knowledgeable with all our request and everything tasted just as amazing as he described it.
I was a bit disappointed with our Omakase. We always order Omakase when we come but this time wasn't as tasteful. We didn't care for the veggie hand roll. And the beef dish was not Waygu like it was before. I will rethink about getting Omakase again.
Was really great and will recommend to friends. The foods are really really good.
Zoe is the best!
Food was great!!!
Amazing food and our server gave us wonderful recommendations!
Everyone was amazing from start to finish!
Shared this as a private note but never got a response so now I will share it publicly
So VERY disappointed how a lovely (and expensively) evening of fine dining ended!!! NOWHERE was it posted or suggested that there is a limit to your seating! Our waitress - Patricia was very knowledgeable and helpful. Delivery of the food and especially drink was a bit slow. How long does it take to pour wine or prosecco? When I paid the bill I somehow hit the wrong button and did not get tip added...Patricia tried to cancel and redo but couldn't so rather then get a mngr involved i told her we'd do a cash tip. We had the money and were waiting for Patricia to stop by as I do not like to leave a large amount of cash on the table. During this time a man came to our table and very rudely told us that they he had a party that he's was waiting to seat and basically told us we needed to move on!!! There were certainly better ways to approach this especially after spending over $200 pp. On the way out I told this gentlemen(?) that it would have been nice upon entering or being seated that we were informed of a time limit ( as many places do these days). His curt reply - " I thought 3 1/2 hours should have been sufficient " Again just downright RUDE!
Maybe you should add to your waitstaff to speed up service to avoid extended meals and not blame your customers!Thank you for your time and consideration.
Fantastic service, great omakase menu, would recommend!
We had a reservation and we were running about 10 minutes late. When we arrived, our table was ready but our server did not come for 30 minutes to check on us. We ended up having to order and check out at the front of the restaurant. It was not particularly busy that night but the service was slow.
The food was overpriced and the portions were very small. The staff was very friendly however.
Service a little slow.
Great sashimi and vibes.
The mango passion fruit cocktail was fantastic. The white fish and scallop shashimi were my fav.
One expects exceptional quisine while dining at Nobu. The food was very good but not great. My wife and I ordered yellowtail/jalapeno crudo, edamame, crispyrice with spicy tuna, rockshrimp tempura and of course miso black cod. A couple of cocktails and our bill with tip was around $230. Not complaining about the final bill but $4 for a small bowl of white rice (should come with miso cod IMHO) is egregious. We may return but lots of superb choices around town for your $$.
Loved the set menu experience and trying all of their creative plates and flavors! My husband enjoyed the birthday celebration at such a special place in DC.
Had an amazing birthday dinner
NOBU is the perfect spot for foodies and there’s no pretense. Good dining experience.
WAYGUUUU that was amazing I’ve never tried it but now I am obsessed.
Nobu was excellent as always -- can't get enough of the Waygu dumplings and rock shrimp.
Nice restaurant with fresh food and pleasant atmosphere, but overpriced for the service and food received.
Sharing our 8 year anniversary was spectacular especially under the professional service and taste of this place. We will return!
Awsome in every way!
Great food and excellent service!
The Chef was awesome, the service was awesome! A-OK
We celebrated our anniversary at NOBU DC. Everything tasted fresh and was presented well. Service was excellent and the small plates came with plenty of time to enjoy each one. We dined on the patio which was very intimate. However, the patio itself was dirty with leaves and dark stains below the seating. I think it’s an experience worth having to try the food, but I don’t feel a burning need to return.
Our server Zoe L. was impeccable. She was went far and beyond to make sure our experience was nothing less than the best. She curated a menu that was unbelievably superb. I will come back often and with more people. I have already recommended this restaurant to a lot of friends and business partners. Again, Zoe L. really made our experience a great one. Please thank her for us.
Zoey is the best server
Incredible. We have the prefixe for each person at $125 and it was worth it.
Always an outstanding experience. Food was phenomenal. Service was above and beyond. We were extremely happy with the precautions for safety. Will be back soon! Compliments to staff and as always, Chef.
I took my partner to Nobu for his birthday and was thankfully surprised by over the top service and quality of food. Will return there often.
All the sushi (rolls, nigiri, yellowtail and jalapeño) was off the charts perfect. Tuna tataki was a little bland in comparison and probably was served out of order, and a little too much water/tomato to delicately cut thin tuna. Watermelon and soft shell was amazing. Chicken served as part of the tasting menu, good but wish I had more yellowtail instead!
